Karen Sabin purchased this house in 2012
Our property is private and secluded and offers a sense of serenity. The 200' dock has a nice bench at the end to make you feel like you are floating on water and watching the sunsets from there is absolutely fantastic! We found this property years ago and did extension renovations to make it feel like a home-away-from-home. We have furnished it with only the best and have added personal touches to enhance the rooms. We hope all of our guests have a memorable experience staying in our home! We are only 6 hours from the NY/NJ area and just 3 hours from DC and Baltimore. Please call me directly to discuss a reservation, 973-769-4628! Please do not rely solely on e-mails.
What a remarkable way to end the month of October in this georgeous home on the York River! The house is tastefully and professionally decorated and so spacious...the pictures online are accurate, and even though beautiful, they still don't quite capture how truly lovely this home really is. The Kitchen was wonderfully well-stocked, plenty of towels and nice linens, very clean and the view is absolutely amazing! Loved, loved, loved the private dock, tidal beach, use of the kayaks to tour the river and see the local wildlife (cormorants, osprey, bald eagles...)...we were already dreaming of a return trip while we were there. Gloucester is a peaceful area with a charming and historic town center and we loved the tranquility of this home, while still enjoying frequent visits to Colonial Williamsburg. Karen is a blessing to work....sooo attentive and accommodating and we look forward to many more memories in this treasure of a home.
This home is a perfect home for a relaxing family vacation. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable! It has everything you will need and more! We enjoyed watching the pods of dolphins swim by, and fished and crabbed from the private dock Karen is extremely easy to work with. She made sure our vacation was perfect. We have rented many vacation homes over the years and she is one of the best owners/managers we have dealt with. This home is truly a gem!! Secluded yet not too far from many local attractions. It definitely exceeded our expectations.
Although we thought house was in middle of nowhere, we found that it wasn't really that far away from everything. Nice, secluded and private. House worked great for my wife and two boys 10 & 15. Weather wasn't great so didn't get to really enjoy the outdoors much but we tried crabbing and fishing off dock, and throwing a football around. House has pretty much everything you want, nice full kitchen, TV's everywhere which was great for the bowl games and nice bedrooms. Only real negative was water pressure in hall bath but Karen said its already taken care of. Deposit already returned too. Food Lion close and great store to stock up, Colonial Williamsburg about 30 minutes maybe less as was Jamestown, Yorktown really close. All in all Karen ez to work with, house nicely appointed and had a nice city close, country quiet appeal.
We stayed in this great home over a long Labor Day weekend. It is very comfortable. Beautifully furnished and felt like home. The dock is very nice. We fished, crabbed and watch amazing sunsets. On weekend nights during the season you can look to your left about 9:15 at night and watch the fireworks at Busch Gardens. We have family in the area so the big yard was great for a cook out. We will be back.
This is a great home by the York river. The house is well appointed and has big front and back yard. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils you would need for a long stay. We really loved the weekend staying there. I would highly recommend this house. The view from the back yard is so beautiful and relaxing. Karen is so easy to work with and prompt. The house is also well equipped with good electronics. HDTV in all rooms. She is professional and courteous in all our communications. I would definitely rent this place if i am in this part of state.
My family and I were fortunate enough to enjoy a week in this beautiful home. We needed some time to unwind and unplug from a hectic life and just 'be a family'. The home is beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. We had the best time! We fished, crabbed, explored along the rocks and took full advantage of the pier. My husband and I would wake early (5:30) and enjoy our coffee, while watching the local crabbers go by gathering their traps, the osprey diving into the water to catch their breakfast, and one morning, the dolphins playing in the water. We loved walking in the tidal area collecting shells, playing in the sand and watching the baby crabs in the grass. The yard is well maintained with gorgeous trees and the largest picnic table I have seen. Most evenings we would prepare the most wonderful seafood dinners and all gather on the pier to talk, relax, and watch the fireworks from Bush Gardens. The sunsets are truly spectacular. During the week we visited Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Bush Gardens. Having lunch at "Olivia's in the village" is A MUST! There is also a fantastic lady behind the seafood counter at "Farm Fresh" a local grocery store, who assisted us many times with buying seafood. She even seasoned and steamed our shrimp for free.
Karen was so easy to work with. She was kind, prompt and had full knowledge of the area. She gave us helpful suggestions and was always there when we had questions. She really was one of the reasons we chose to visit this home.
If you are looking for a vacation away from the hustle and bustle, one where you can enjoy nature, slow down and breathe the ocean air, then you have found your home. It is well worth it. We will definitely come back for another visit.
Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown and Busch Gardens are within an hours drive on scenic roads through the beautiful byways of Virginia! Please call me directly to discuss a reservation, 973-769-4628! Please do not rely solely on e-mails.
