The creek is incredible, Beautiful stone work and post and beam construction. The creek will lull you to sleep. Large, comfortable outdoor hot tub
Private. On The Creek. Beautiful Rock And Cedar Shake Building. But Close To The Heart Of Our Mountain Village.
Very comfortable and well stocked cabin. Beautiful location with soothing creek side sound.
The cottage itself has been furnished with lots of TLC and it felt very homey. It had everything we needed for the weekend and we really appreciated the warm cozy feel of the place, including the warm gas stove heater. Plus the pottery jar full of freshly ground coffee was a very nice touch.
Hot tub was in perfect condition and easy to use. We used it multiple times. Very relaxing to hear the sounds of water in the creek while relaxing in the hot tub.
The view from cottage is stunning, like a mountain retreat. We were there in the winter so no swimming in the creek for us, but it looked inviting,
It's an _easy_ five minute walk into the heart of Hot Springs were the bars and restaurants are, but you are away from the street noises, etc of the downtown area.
We didn't have a single complaint or issue with the place at all. But I'd want to note a few "heads up" items for people.
First, because it's a fairly small and cozy cottage, the place is really meant for one couple or one couple with a couple of kids. Even though there is an upstairs loft for the MBR, the layout and acoustics really mean there is no privacy from the people down on the main level. So even though the place "sleeps 4" I would not recommend it for two couples.
Second, there is no TV at the place. At least not that we could find. For us, this was a non-issue and in fact it was nice for us to get away from TVs. But I could imagine that being an issue for a family with kids. That can either be a plus or a minus, depending on what you want from the vacation. :-) But people need to be aware of it.
Our first impression of the property upon arrival was that this cottage was perfect and gorgeous! Great location! In the mountains but still located in downtown hot springs. The town is very quiet, and cute like any small town you would hope to be! The cottage was very clean and provided everything we needed! The local coffee they provided was delicious!
My only issue was privacy. The loft area (where the bed is located) has windows all around - which normally we love!! Every other cabin/cottage we've stayed at- we welcome big gorgeous open windows. However- the windows faced the neighbors cottage windows as well. We can see directly into the neighbors windows- which means they can see right into ours. Leaving us with no privacy upstairs.
The hot tub is the best I've ever been in!! We were in it every night we were at the cottage!
The local restaraunts were great! We highly recommend Spring Creek Tavern!
Also- the Appalachian trail is literally right down the road!
It was nice to experience Hot springs differently this year-by being closer to town. Normally the cabins we stay at are well up the mountain and over an hour from town- so it was nice to be able to be close- yet still have the gorgeous mountain/creek view.
This place is magic. The cottage is like something out of a fairy story. The creek sound lulls you to sleep each night and relaxes you as you hang out on the amazing deck. Watching wildlife, swimming and floating on the creek were wonderful and the privacy is amazing. Especially considering how close you are to town and can walk there in less than 10 minutes! The cottage has every amenity you wold expect and Karen was kind enough to loan us her blender so we could make smoothies while we were there. I cannot wait to go back! I love this place!
What a great place to stay! The house is wonderful--really perfect for relaxing. The cottage is in town, walkable to restaurants, but has great privacy. The owners, Karen and Pete, are lovely. We will definitely be back.
Amazing property in delightful hot springs. The property has EVERYTHING you could need. Owners Karen and Pete are fabulous hosts and very welcoming. Don't miss this vacation rental as a perfect central location for the village and trails about within just a few minutes either on foot or by car.
