About Rhonda

I have thoroughly enjoyed living on the island of Hawaii since 2002 and selected this destination after extensive traveling which included home exchanges in many countries.

To live everyday in total excitement and contentment with what the day has to offer became my mission.

Water quality and accessibility for swimming was at the top of my priority list.

I thank the Universe each and every day for allowing all of my life dreams, and more than I ever was able to imagine to come to fruition.

My passions are swimming, coffee farming, growing tropical fruits, vegetables, and flowers, as well as creating jams, jellies and liqueurs with the fruits of my little farm.

Operating a Guest House on my property became a dream that I am proud to see becoming a reality. I find it a total honor to live on this piece of paradise and feel totally compelled to share. What a great playground!!

I believe my success is based upon my guests enjoyment during their holiday. It is my desire to assist each of my guests in experiencing Hawaii in all its glory.

I welcome you to come share my most favored place in the whole wide world.

Today is the Best Day of the Rest of My Life. Come make it yours.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The room and house, garden, pool and the stunning view were fabulous and more than what we expected. Great value, probably the best place to stay on the Big Island. Make sure you have time to enjoy this place, it's nice to spend an afternoon at home. Rhonda is a great host, thank you so much!

Comfortable Stay in Captain Cook

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent two enjoyable nights at Rhonda's home in Captain Cook. Rhonda was a very gracious hostess. She prepared breakfast treats, provided coffee, tea, and juice. She also gave us tips for sightseeing and snorkeling, and best of all, loaned us snorkeling gear. We didn't use the swimming pool, but it's available. The rooms with views to the ocean are quite lovely, and the entire house is spotlessly clean. The house is near the highway, but is quiet, and there are restaurants and beaches within a few miles of the house. We were very pleased.

Friendly host with a nice house

  • 5 of 5

Rhonda was an awesome host and she has a very nice house on the big island. Ask her for some tips about snorkeling around the area and she will be happy to help. Baked goodies that she keeps in the morning are awesome. I will be happy to stay here again

We miss our Hawaiian retreat

  • 5 of 5

This review is well over due as we stayed here a couple months ago - sometimes life just gets in the way. For our trip we decided to split time between Ronda's Hawaiian Retreat and The Waikoloa Marriot. Hind sight being 20/20, we wished we had booked our entire stay at Ronda's Retreat. First of all, the house was spacious, beautiful and warm. Wonderfully landscaped and immaculately clean inside and out. We stayed in the loft room with a private bath and king sized bed with a view that belonged in a postcard. Our host could not have been better. Each morning we woke to hot Kona coffee, fresh banana mac nut bread and a coconut pie my wife couldn't get enough of. She provided us with maps and recommendations for exploring Kona. Complete with direction to her favorite snorkeling place where we were able to swim with wild dolphins. She also provided everything you may need for a day at the beach from towels to masks and fins. As I sit here and write this it reminds me of the evenings we spent on her deck overlooking the pool. We miss our Hawaiian retreat.

Beautiful home, fully equipped

  • 5 of 5

Rhonda's home is large and comfortable, and in a great location. Just a few miles down the hill are the best snorkeling waters in the Big Island. We rented a double kayak and paddled for hours in Kealakekua Bay, jumping in to float over the coral and watch dozens of different colorful fish. Then the spinner dolphins arrived, and we had several magical minutes swimming with these beautiful animals. Rhonda provides all the little things, snorkeling gear, beach towels, breakfast fixings and more. For a rented room situation, it's the best.
