About the property

4 BR Waterfront Home With Pool, Dock, Kayaks, Foosball, Bikes, Ping Pong, & More

Tranquility is ideal for families or groups looking for a comfortable house with ample activities and access to all that St. Michaels and the Chesapeake region offers. The house has been newly renovated with new bathrooms and kitchen and a new pier installed in 2014.

Four bedrooms include (1) King bedroom, (1) Queen bedroom, (1) Two Doubles bedroom, and (1) Two Twins bedroom. Plus, two newly renovated bathrooms with marble and travertine and an outdoor shower.

The kitchen has just been renovated and features all the amenities that make you want to cook, including caeserstone counters, new hardwood floors, range hood, dishwasher, Kitchenaid mixer, and high-quality pots.

The house's layout features three distinct living ares, including a den/TV room, a great room with a table, sectional, and foosball table, and a sitting area adjacent to the dining room.

Outdoors, the pool has both a shallow and deep end and includes noodles and floats. A large patio and two decks flank the back of the house and feature an outdoor table and chairs, chaise lounges, and gliders. The charcoal weber grill and gas smoker are there to make great steaks, burgers, and ribs, or to cook the fish you catch out on the water. Steam some crabs and enjoy the sunset. Plus, relax in the double hammocks and enjoy the setting sun on the watermen crabbing out in the cove.

Walk down to the dock where you can fish or crab. We have crab traps and crab pots available for you to use, just add some chicken necks. Or, you can fish right off the dock. If you want a bigger adventure, you can rent a boat from next door and go out on the water to fish, crab, or ride for the day. You can also bring the two kayaks out on the water to explore the cover or Harris Creek. The cove depth varies from about a foot to several feet, so the dock is best used for kayaks or boats with a very small draw.

In addition to foosball, we have a ping pong table, extensive kids toys, bocce, two bikes, and tiki torches. You're a short ride into the town to some of the best boutiques and restaurants you can find. Plus, you're only three minutes from the best seafood available at Chesapeake Landing.

Come to Tranquility to relax, enjoy yourself, spend time with family and friends, or explore the Bay Hundred area.

About Kevin

We live in Washington, DC with our three year old and newborn sons and beagle mix. We actually got engaged while in St. Michaels nearly ten years ago and have loved the area ever since.

Kevin purchased this house in 2012

Why Kevin chose Bozman

We always hoped to own a home in St. Michaels. For many years we've visited the area with friends, and when we found Tranquility, we knew it was a special house. We love how we can host family and friends here yet not feel crowded or on top of one another. We especially love the pool and taking the kayaks out on the water. We crab as often as possible and bring our sons to the many parks and playgrounds nearby.

Map

Tranquility is located in St. Michaels, on Maryland's eastern shore. About 1 hour 30 minutes from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD and 2 hours from Philadelphia, PA, the community is located in an ideal location for a short drive from major metropolitan areas and the Washington, Baltimore, and Philadelphia airports and train stations.

We love the area because its' far enough away to feel a world away, yet, a reasonable drive. The house is a few miles outside of the center of town, which means you're in a quiet, nature-filled area, yet only a few minutes from all of the shops and restaurants in idyllic St. Michaels.

St. Michaels and Tranquility are an ideal location for spending time on the water. Take out the kayaks or fish and crab from the dock. You can even rent a boat to go out on the water from the 'bed n boat' next door. Spend time relaxing in the pool or resting on the hammocks.

St. Michaels has great restaurants, including fine dining at 209 Talbot and Bisto St Michaels, casual dining at Gina's and Ava's and great seafood at Chesapeake Landing and Crab Claw. Our favorite stores include Chesapeake Bay Outfitters, American/Holiday, and the toy store.

The Maritime Museum is award-winning and worth spending an afternoon. Habourtowne Golf Resort is less than 5 minutes away and offers a fun golf course. Tennis courts are available at the local school. Children love all of the parks and playgrounds, including the Perry Cabin Park on Rt 33, the 'boat park' down Railroad Ave in St Michaels, and the Neavitt Park, about 5 miles down Bozman Neavitt Rd.

Major disappointment

  • 1 of 5

Good news--our much anticipated friends reunion weekend in St. Micheal's was great. Lots to do in St. Micheal's--fun shopping, nice restaurants, beautiful views of the water. Bad news--this house was a major disappointment. Early miscommunication led to the local manager treating the first arrival with suspicion and resisting letting her enter the house. "I didn't even know the house was rented this weekend." And that's basically how the weekend went. The general exterior of the home was unkempt--grass needed mowing and the leaves needed raked. The house key provided would lock neither front door. Yes, we slept in an unsecured house and locked our valuables in our vehicles. The house smelled like a dog had been there. The local manager said we could not open the windows. Many of which had no screens and many with dirty windowsills and bugs. The touch screen of the thermostat was nonresponsive until the final day. So we were in a dirty, smelly, hot and humid house. There were cobwebs in several locations. There were dead bugs in the base of many light fixtures. Lamps in the dining area were without bulbs. The dining room chairs had sunken seats--lifting the chair slipcover revealed upholstery worn down to the frame. A drawer in the kitchen was full of random junk. The smoke detector was pulled off the ceiling and stored in the closet of one bedroom. The stairs to the dock were not secured to the dock, creating an unsteady walk up the stairs and a potential risk for falls. The owner responded by hiring a new cleaning service and refunding the house cleaning fee. This house does not meet the standards expected of a VRBO rental. Disappointing experience.

Nice place with friends

  • 4 of 5

The size and layout of this house is deceiving upon arrival. The house is long and open with plenty of space for our group of seven. All the furniture and beds are comfortable. The master bedroom is very large and located at the far end of the house. The kitchen has a long, wooden island for food preparation or lots of snacks. All the rooms and bathrooms were clean. We spent most of our time on the large deck that has plenty of chairs and gliders, overlooking the pool and dock. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and watching herons on the deck. Bring insect repellent for the mosquitos! Just two suggestions for improvement would be cleaning the window screens and sills. There were lots of dead bugs between the screens and windows, all outside but it detracts from the overall appearance of the house. Maybe this is just an end of season issue. The lock on the front door and the master bedroom didn't work very easily, either. I've also rented numerous places on the Eastern Shore, and most provide toilet paper. None of these things should dissuade anyone from renting this house, however. It is located within a five minute or less drive to St. Michaels. There is plenty of parking for more than three cars. We would return.

Family fun for all ages.

This is a lovely home on a beautiful location. The locale is so unique. Our 7 and 6 year old loved going crabbing and chasing lightning bugs. We had a terrific low tech experience. We had a lovely family vacation.

Perfect spot for our mini family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of family had a marvelous mini-reunion in beautiful St. Michaels at Tranquility. The house was perfect: Spacious and well done, but homey and welcoming. Lots of toys for the kids, and most important, outdoor adventures waiting just outside the door. They loved the dock, the kayaks, the crab traps, the easy fishing and the mud. We loved the outdoor seating and the grill for cooking. We made wonderful memories preparing food, eating, and playing at Tranquility. It was also an easy distance for the St. Michael's half-marathon, a wonderful race. The owners were responsive, and the house was ready! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is the second time we stayed here for the annual Christmas in St. Michaels weekend. We had a great time and the house was great for what we needed. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Kevin is so easy to work with!

Great Weekend getaway !

  • 4 of 5

Rented Tranquility for a "girls weekend". Spacious home with awesome, calming water view. Big kitchen with long island to gather around.

A bit of rain didn't hinder our relaxation. Location was only minutes from St. Michael's - cute town with lots to explore. Great communication with Kevin, the owner.
