This is a magnificent house, beautifully and sensitively restored, providing period charm alongside beautiful furnishings. We have had an incredible week here, with 3 families enjoying the spacious accommodation – a generous kitchen, dining room, lounge, drawing room, and front porch offering a variety of space for everyone. It is extremely well equipped and immaculately maintained. The private beach is a couple of minutes walk away and having chairs, towels, outside shower etc on hand was fantastic . Local facilities are super with great bakery and eateries. Relaxing on the front porch watching Harwich Port’s residents strolling by, entertaining guests, family fun or a peaceful moment on the bedroom terrace taking in the ocean view – this house offers so much and certainly delivers. We would heartily recommend this incredible house, a perfect family getaway, and will definitely be visiting again.
We just returned from a one-week stay at this wonderful property. The house itself is even more beautiful, spacious and comfortable than the pictures show. Thanks to some wonderful weather, we enjoyed the majority of our meals on the front porch. The kitchen makes cooking fun, and the bar in the living room was like the icing on the cake! We spent many comfortable hours around it swapping stories and just relaxing. Since we were vacation with a number of other couples, the bedrooms equipped with their bath and TV all made for very comfortable accommodations. Linens and towels were high quality and generously provided. But perhaps the part that we didn't fully appreciate when booking was the location. The private beach at the end of the street was perfect --- quiet enough to be able to spread out and have your own space with enough activity and boating around to make for some beautiful scenery (and people watching). And, of course, being in town provided easy access to so much -- restaurants, coffee shops, liquor stores, shopping and of course the must of Cape Cod... ice cream shops! Going in, we were a little concerned about being on Rt 28 and the traffic, which was NO issue at all and, if anything, the total package - house and location - provided a great setting for a wonderful vacation that spanned a few generation of family and friends.
This house is magnificent! The location is prime - close to shops, places to eat, and the beach! It is stocked with everything you might need from beach towels to an iron and ironing board. The rooms are good size and each has an en suite bathroom. The outdoor porch is wonderful to sit and watch the world go by or to entertain on. The owner is very responsive and provides excellent customer service. I highly recommend this property.
I Love this location! I have not yet stayed here, but have watched the renovations and cannot wait to book a stay.
The location is absolutely perfect!!! Walking distance to both the beach and the town. This is far and away better than staying in one of the "resorts" close by. So happy to see this lovely lady come back to life.
This grand old sea captain's home has been tastefully transformed into a first class residential home right in the quaint seaport Village of Harwich Port.
Today, I was invited, along with other neighbors, etc. to view it for the first time since it's extensive renovation. I had previously spent a considerable amount of time in this home prior to the renovation and remember all of the old charm it had. It took my breath away to see the magnificent work that was done to transform it into a functionally modern and upscale home without taking away the charm. Professionally designed and appointed, the photos don't do it justice.
As a Realtor, I can say this is the most desirable property I have ever seen in the Village of Harwich Port. And further, anyone lucky enough to enjoy a week or two within it's walls, will not be disappointed.
