Workout in the mornings at home on the deck or at nearby facilities and spend your afternoons touring the Royal Museum,shops, Victoria art galleries and more . Ride the horse drawn tours of this unique neighborhood.At night you can walk to the Royal theater for symphony or ballet.
Our home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in unique Heritage zone, across from the famous James Bay Inn pub, Thrifty's grocery store, sports facilities and many local bus routes.
Only 4 houses to the airport shuttle and very close to heliport, float plane and Cruise Line port of call at Augden Point.
You'll find everything you'll need is supplied in mint condition with up-to-date modern appliances.
UPSTAIRS: Romantic master suite is large and unique with fireplace and new king bed.
It is cool in the summer and has both blinds and curtains for a quiet and blackout effect if needed.
En suite Spa: tub has a chroma therapy jet tub, shower is 7 feet long and fireplace with room for the massage table beside the tub and near the fireplace which warms the whole ensuite .
There is a separate room for toilet and another two separate areas for sink and make-up
The reading area outside the bedroom with skylight doubles as a luxurious laundry folding area as it is adjacent to washer and dryer conveniently located near the bedroom.
The outdoor deck has been glass enclosed and is under an awning.
It has a large enough floor space for exercise -stationary bike , ball, weights and yoga mat are provided plus there is a large sofa overlooking the garden for morning coffee or afternoon tea in the trees.
The second bedroom on the lower level with African theme is away from the master and has it's own 3 piece ensuite.
ENTERTAIN IN STYLE AND COMFORT
The kitchen has everything including room for 6 seated around range and a bar height table with chairs fro two more.
The very special teak dining table is in the living area with a view of the garden and not the kitchen, which is better for more formal dining.
Our home is charming and uniquely decorated!
It's the best place to stay if you want to be downtown, in a quiet elegant fun space.
PEACEFUL and SECLUDED GARDEN to enjoy as well.

I prefer one long term renter for my ski season ideally November or December to end March. Minimum rental term is two weeks.
Summer rates are higher than winter and one month is the minimum term.
Jim is my property manager and is nearby in Victoria for any issues that may arise while you are here or if i am not available by phone nor email re rental.

I am a single, retired lawyer who likes to travel when the house is rented and ski in the winter months
Generally ,I'm here in Victoria in summer and consistently gone in the winter.
My start and finish rental dates are very flexible
I would prefer a single several month tenancy, ideally Nov. thru March or as late as May
for ski season and rent will be reduced for longer term .
My property manager Andrea will assist you this summer/fal as I cannot receive VRBO info abroad without a verification code sent to my phone which I will not have

Having travelled the world and most of Canada, I feel that Victoria is the best city in Canada in which to live, B.C. the most stunningly beautiful province with nearby Vancouver consistently highly rated city in world polls and the Gulf Islands here to explore by ferry . Nothing compares to the relaxed pace, understated affluence and beauty of Victoria and environs.
The Canadian political and economic climate are stable, the city is safe and geared for tourism.
It is walking distance to a fabulous park ocean and Disney- like downtown
The garden is a fabulous or bike inside the glass enclosed deck on the second floor

Likewise, if this is your first visit to Victoria or you are returning for the umpteenth time, this residence is an amazing place to call home. It is an extraordinary base of operations to explore the City as well as the southern part of Vancouver Island.
The property is within walking distance of so many places. Ten minutes in any direction gets you to where you want to be. Beacon Hill Park, the Empress Hotel, the Inner Harbor, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Dallas Road waterfront are just minutes away. Restaurants, a grocery store, neighborhood markets, a pharmacy, even Starbucks are within easy walking distance. A public transit stop is just at the end of the road.
The house is so inviting and has everything you could want. If you choose to eat at home, the kitchen is stocked with all the utensils, cookware, bakeware and serving dishes you could possibly need. Plus there’s a grill and outdoor dining area next to the garden. Want to listen to music…the CD collection is awesome. The washer and dryer are located on the second floor next to the master suite…so convenient. Plus the sun room/porch on the second floor is a perfect place to exercise, read or simply relax and catch the breezes. But what makes this house so inviting is the way it is decorated. Artwork and travel memorabilia displayed throughout the house, simply make it a fun place to be. You can’t help but imagine the good times the owner has had travelling and collecting!
We were greeted upon arrival and given a tour of the property. It’s so apparent that the owner wants her guests to have as much fun staying on Vancouver Island as she has living here. She was a perfect host and gave us tips on places to go and things to do.
This residence was absolutely perfect for our month-long getaway in Victoria. We were so comfortable in the house and neighborhood that neither of us was ready to leave. When we return to Victoria, we hope we'll be staying here again.
My husband and I spend three months of the summer each year in Victoria. We have rented houses in various parts of the city. This summer we decided to try James Bay and stayed at this unique and special residence. The location was amazing; so close to the downtown, Beacon Hill Park and the ocean. We hardly used our car and loved walking the beautiful neighborhoods seeing the horse drawn carriages giving tourists a history of the area through the architecture. The house is only two blocks from a thriving commercial village including a large grocery market, pharmacy, restaurants and many coffee houses. Just a few blocks in the other direction on Niagara is a fabulous local organic market.
The house is very special as the owner is an artist and has created a colourful and comfortable living space. The kitchen is state of the art with a six burner gas cooktop and the best pans, cutlery and knives we have ever experienced in a rental. The counters are all beautiful granite. I just loved cooking in that kitchen. The master suite upstairs has a huge walk in shower and a king size bed with quality linens and lots of closet space, including a walk in one. With a reading room off of it and a covered porch for morning exercises, it is just perfect.
We were able to enjoy the garden with our large family who were visiting because of the ample seating for conversation and dining.
We had a wonderful time in this lovely home! The location was perfect and allowed us all a lot of flexibility to go and venture out at our own pace. My tall husband particularly loved the giant shower, my mom loved the beautiful flowers in the garden and the lovely smell they created throughout the property, and my dad especially enjoyed walking down to get the paper and then enjoying it with his morning coffee in the courtyard. The layout of the home, the abundant natural light, the first-class furnishings, and the fascinating art work and souvenirs from the owner's world travels made for a very comfortable and memorable stay in Victoria. We absolutely recommend it!
We loved this house and its magic garden. It's a one-off property and a one-off opportunity in the Victoria rental market. No other house came even close in our 6 week search last year for a quality, temporary home. The standard is amazingly high throughout and reflects Louise's (owner) kindness and generosity. No bare minimum here. Everything was quality and everything worked. We would say this was a home as the owner would have it for herself. The kitchen is impressively and generously equipped and we loved all the décor and lighting both inside and out. Creativity is everywhere and the house should be featured in a magazine (I think it has been) but no effort has been spared to ensure it also feels like a real home. It was always warm and comfortable which was great as we stayed there till December! The location is also perfect. It’s quiet but central: a short and easy walk to all the amenities of James Bay as well as to the theatres, restaurants and bars of downtown Victoria. The lovely Beaconhill Park is just across the road and there are more great restaurants, coffee houses and shops in Cook Street Village, nearby. Try the Pizzeria Primastrada there. My husband and I spent two very happy months here during Fall last year. Should we need a temporary Victoria home again, we would definitely hope to return to this house and yes - we would definitely recommend it to anyone, including close friends and family. We loved staying here. Lovely romantic master suite with its own fireplace, amazing bath, fridge and separate sitting area and large balcony. The kitchen was large and great to cook in. Our family loved the backyard with the BBQ, lovely dining area and the secluded reading spot. The eclectic art gives the whole property a bohemian feel. 10 minute walk to downtown, 5 minute to the ocean and beaches, 5 minute to Beacon Hill Park. We used the local buses and the stop was 3 minutes away. We will come back next year. Louise the owner was great. She provided lots of info and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome.
Very close to Beacon Hill Park, botanical garden, playground and children's petting zoo. Historic neighbourhood in the heart of downtown Victoria, walking distance to beaches, museums, restaurants and shopping district.
