An ideal place to get away as a couple or small family. This cabin is a pleasant and relaxing vacation spot. We are located in Manistique, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Located along Indian Lake, which is 8400 acre Spring fed lake. This area is great for swimming, hiking, golfing, biking, fishing, hunting and sight seeing. Spend the day at the beach and enjoy water sports and boating. Then, spend the evening having a tasty barbeque and a soothing bonfire. There is a front and back screened in porch with chairs so that you can enjoy being outside in the fresh air! This cabin provides a kitchen with dishes, cooking utensils, toaster, coffee pot, fridge and a gas stove. The bathroom includes a shower, sink and toilet. Artesian well water.
Feel free to bring your own boat and use the community dock or your own private dock for Cabin #5. A new deck and boardwalk have just been added to the dock. Easy access to launching your boat is best at the state park nearby (1/2 mile from the Lodge and a $4.50 per vehicle if you do not have a State sticker in your window.) Due to the high winds, we do recommend pulling your boat nightly.
This cabin is an open concept design. There is 1 queen bed and 1 full size bed, 1 sofa sleeper (pull-out bed). We also provide bed linens. Please bring your own towels.
The sandy swimming beach is about 50 feet- just 1 cabin from the beach/ community grilling area. There is a small children's play here with a swing-set and plenty of room for outdoor children's games.
This cabin is an open concept design, it's one big room with the following:
*1 queen bed
*1 full size bed
*1 sofa sleeper (pull-out bed)
Big Springs "Kich-iti-kipi": Michigan's largest freshwater spring. Two hundred feet across, and 40-feet deep. Over 10,000 gallons a minute gush from fissures in the underlying limestone at a constant 45 degree Fahrenheit. By means of a self-operated observation raft, visitors are guided to vantage points overlooking fascinating underwater features and fantasies. Ancient tree trunks, lime-encrusted branches and fat trout appear suspended in nothingness as they slip through crystal waters far below. Clouds of sand kept in constant motion by gushing waters create ever-changing shapes and forms, a challenge to the imagination of young and old alike.
Indian Lake Golf Course: A very popular, 18-hole golf course along Indian Lake. Just 5 miles from the Cabin.
The Kewadin Casino: It is approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) from the Lodge. If you make reservations, they will pick you up at the cabin and return your group as well.
Historic Manistique Water Tower: The Old Water Tower is one of the many historic sites in Schoolcraft County. Built in 1923 and constructed in the “Roman revival” style, it is also listed in the national register. The renovated building will provide space for arts related public events and public rest room facilities while preserving one of Manistique's unique and historic buildings.
Fayette State Park & Historic Town site: Fayette was once one of the Upper Peninsula's most productive iron-smelting operations. Located on the Garden Peninsula at Snail Shell Harbor. When the charcoal iron market began to decline, the Jackson Iron Company closed its Fayette smelting operation in 1891. It is now a completely restored village including 22 historic buildings, museum exhibits and the visitor center, which can be toured May through October. The historic site is located in Fayette State Park.

Beautiful location on Indian Lake. Love the open-concept of the cabin. It's simple, yet has everything you need.
*Private boat dock located right outside of your cabin.
*Screened in porch
*Deck/patio facing the lake
We loved the weekend getaway here celebrating 9 years together (3 years married). It was perfectly quiet and peaceful-yet close enough to a little bit of "U.P. Night Life"
Thank you so much for letting us use your cozy place for the weekend! It couldn't have been more perfect for us.

Looks roomy but isn't, no privacy, some of electrical outlets were not working, floor is uneven, 2 front doors had hooks no locking device, pilot light kept going out on stove, couch and bedding were damp, besides the spiders a mouse and the dead seagull up on the lawn it wasn't that bad!
The little cabin's wifi didn't work, so we went across the street and stayed in the lodge! The original cabin wasn't very nice! Kinda needs to be torn down.
The lodge was wonderful! Lots of room and all the amenities you could ask for! Freshwater took care of us right away! Next time I will spend a little more and get a nicer cabin! The lodge is old, but well kept! So our stay was wonderful!
what an enjoyable time staying at the cabin. Every morn I sat on the porch having my coffee and would watch the family of ducks go by. It was so nice being by the water. and I really enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was very comfortable and nice to be right on the lake. It brought up memories when I grew up in the area. I would stay there again if I ever get the chance.
