Could have done better but not too bad

  • 3 of 5

The property is not that bad but could use some serious upgrading on furniture. The overall property did not have many occupants so the pool area was not crowded which was a plus but there was no obvious convenient way to get to the beach on foot. I also want to add that the property is overpriced for the quality. I spoke with other renters on the property and they paid far less for way bigger apartments in the same complex. I was charged with a glass that I know for a fact I did not break which I think was a turn off. I also want to add that this can sleep 3 people comfortably (even though there is no air unit in the living area) not four people. Its not a bad place to stay just lower the price and make sure you have a car at all times.

Worth a try, if not again

  • 2 of 5

Location was just as remote as sat images and previous reviews had indicated -- complex was like a ghost town in mid-January. The only other occupants seemed (of course) to be in my same block of condos; and these things have PAPER-THIN WALLS. Pack the ear plugs or headphones!

The tankless water heater was out of commission upon my late arrival, so owners had to be called, and hubbie came that evening to fix it. Nice to have a 'boom box' and sat TV to watch NFL playoffs in evening. As far as beach (La Mela)... not worth the muddy hike; but nice to visit the "Villa" there and get a tour of the typical beach cabanas rented by the locals. Playa Buye was a 5-10 min drive to the south and was a definite favorite (especially weekdays).

Condo's north-facing balcony was small but breezy, private, comfy and had a nice vista. The bedroom was quite spartan and uncomfortable -- given the noise factor mentioned earlier; you're either going to leave the high windows open for the near-constant breeze -- but hear every voice & footstep outside, or seal-up windows and hear the roar of the AC unit all evening. Pool was fairly clean and well-maintained. Kitchen was adequate, though range ops were quirky. Maria was super-prompt with refunding the deposit (nicest memory).

Nice enough place for two or three nights; but I didn't think it was a good value for the rate charged. One can find better for the money in the Cabo Rojo area.

Solo 2 detalles la piscina no estaba muy limpia y el agua de la bañera no caliente. Por lo demas 5 estrellas y de seguro vuelvo a tomarlo en mi consideracion y la de mi esposo. Muy agradescidos con todo. Gracias!

Bahia Real Condo is a beautiful complex with three walkup buildings. Our property is facing the Puerto Real Bay on Building 'B'. It is a one bedroom apartment on second floor. You will have access to La Mela Beach, a very private beach just a short walk away.

You will be just 6-7 minutes from Boqueron Town, a very picturesque town, filled with pubs, bars, restaurants and stores that really gets alive at Summer Time! Also, nearby are restaurants and pubs on PR#100 and downtown Cabo Rojo. Typical candy kiosk at Cabo Rojo's square is a must!
