I am no longer taking online booking since the mechanism that Homeaway has does not work. I am also led to believe that they do not make it clear to guests that Homeaway charges a transaction fee that is a surprise at the end of the process. This is not how I do business. If you are interested in renting this house I talk with you before you make the decision. I can be reached on 9788219686 and if you cannot reach me by phone my email is peterjsdavies at gmail. I can be found on LinkedIn and am more than happy to give references.
We believe in a personalized touch to renting our home.
We enjoy the outdoors, boating, swimming, hiking and bike riding. We find the quiet at the lake cottage, after a busy week, refreshing and relaxing.
Peter purchased this house in 2002
The quiet location, the pleasant view from this house situated on a private lake was the place we wanted to go to relax and enjoy active leisure time on the lake.
The view from the patio door and picture window along with the large deck and cozy feeling of this lake side cottage.
Thank you, so much, for sharing this wonderful home with us. It made the graduation weekend, and the grad, very relaxed and special.
This location is beautiful, the home had everything we needed and the owners are fantastic. We will definitely return!
The location on Beaver lake was fantastic, it's very picturesque and quiet. The house was well equipped and comfortable and there was an awesome selection of Kayaks and Canoes for us, and toys for the kids. They loved playing and swimming at the beach on the property. Peter and Judith were excellent to deal with and the whole experience was very enjoyable. We look forward to returning next summer!
My husband and I loved Beaver Lake, and the cottage came with so many fun "toys" that made our stay even better. Kayaks, canoes, bikes, paddleboats. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the owners very helpful. A bike trip to nearby Quabbin Reservoir was a highlight! We would like to rent it again next year if our daughter is still in the area.
We were looking for a quiet relaxing spot to unwind from our stressful jobs working in a jail and a children's E.R. We found it here. Some of the highlights: quiet road and neighbors, plenty of firewood, kayaks, canoes, a cool island to explore, shallow water at the sandy beach, great homemade ice cream 4 miles away, dock and the water was warm enough even in June. I really could go on. Fine, I'll go on - Peter and Judith were very nice. They met us there to show us around and something very helpful was a binder they put together with info on local interests. We used it a few times. If there were something negative to write, I would. They were great people and the cottage was great. We hope to return!
"Mommy -- its a kitchen living room" exclaimed my 4 year old and we entered the main living space. An extended kitchen counter abuts the combined dining/living area, with view stunning lake views. But what I liked best was that I could see the kids playing in the beach/dock area from the main living space and outside deck. I could thus be connected with multiple aspects of the family at the same time.
I appreciated the three 'upstairs' bedrooms (main floor) adjacent to each other; and then the downstairs extra room (also game room) in the finished basement. The lovely thing about the finished basement was that it opened onto a patio sitting area, that also faced the lake. We had a lot of fun with the paddle boat (good for young kids); didn't get around to using the other boats but look to doing that on another trip. I also liked how many toys and games were available for children, both inside toys, and beach toys. Plus there were bikes!
And finally -- easy hikes / walks at the nearby Quabbin reservoir. I sent this note to a friend:
"The reservoir is huge and breathtaking. Fun trails crossing the many little streams that feed the dammed basin. Lot of discussion with the kids about how we can't swim in it because it is drinking water -- the boys then proceeded to lap the water kitty-style, pronouncing it delicious. That and dozen more funny moments."
We really enjoyed our stay lakeside at Beaver Lake. The property was very clean, well provisioned, comfortable beds, and perfect for a graduation weekend. Quite roomy for 5; much added bonus was the extensive boating options, beach and back porch lakeside. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
