We loved the cabin, plenty of room for all 14 of us. There where plenty of towels, as with a large group in other cabins we have had to wash towels every day. We did wash some, but there was plenty. The kitchen was well stocked. However, when we arrived we could not find any silverware, the was plenty of cooking and grilling utensils, I called to ask about this and we had a clean tray if silverware in less than an hour. Plenty of extra pillows etc. 4 full bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and a jetted tub, made it easy to get ready quickly. My kids were thrilled when they realized there are actually 2 hot tubs. Loved it, pretty area and close to town, property was well kept. Would definitely return.
Clean and comfortable. Overall a good experience.
This property was clean and for the most part well stocked. I would like to say that the small things that were mentioned in every review, still have not been corrected and that is why I gave it 3 stars. None of the remotes worked for the tv’s, over half did not even have batteries. The kitchen was well stocked as far as plates, cups, silverware and utensils. The cookware is a whole other issue. For a house that sleeps sixteen people you would assume you are cooking for a large group. There are no large pots, or large mixing bowls. There wasnt even a colander. There were plenty of bath towels and wash cloths but no hand towels and only 1kitchen towel and dish cloth.
Overall it was a nice experience but you should definitely take care of the small details so that future renters see that you care about details that can be fixed and are willing to maintain this property as it should be maintained.
A great cabin! Needs some updates but definitely worth the price!
Great price, great location. I would definitely stay there again! Everyone was surprised at how large the cabin was on the inside.
Overall, it's a beautiful cabin. Before booking, I read through the reviews and noted a couple of issues highlighted by previous customers. For example, in 2016 someone highlighted the poor state of the master toilet bowl seat. Additionally, someone more recently wrote a review and mentioned the difficulty with the tv remotes. As I looked at other properties, most if not all reviews were addressed and resolved so I assumed the same for these. Unfortunately they weren't. The toilet seat is very old...so much so that the paint on the wood is gone. Additionally, there were 4 remotes in the living room for the tv. Two of them didn't have any batteries. It took some time...and a tech savvy husband to figure it out.
Again, it's a beautiful cabin and it's maintained by WhyndomVacation Rentals. But they really need to address the little things.
Nice cabin, but some details need attention
Overall, the cabin was great. Being a designer, I have a few notes that I hope you will consider. There are 2 hot tubs, 3 bathrooms (1 w/a jetted tub!), and a community pool, but not one towel hook! We hung them on the railing to dry. The home was pet-friendly, but there was dog hair on the couch, and in the common areas, the grass was very high, so for our small dog, that was a problem. The refrigerator was difficult to access, because it opened to the left, away from the counter. So to move it to the other end of the cabinet run would have been more accessible. We weren't sure if there was recycling or not, so we just bagged it separately and put it in the receptacle. The good towels for showering were under the sink, and not on the towel racks. We didn't find them until after a couple of days! The cabinet knobs are dangerous! We pinched fingers 3 times, twice quite hard, as our fingers got stuck (slid down behind pull) while opening cabinet doors. Also, the TV remotes didn't work...maybe needed new batteries? It may seem to be a lot, but these were all little things, and we did enjoy our stay. Taking care of the little things might make the next family's stay even better.
Just what we wanted
This cabin had everything we needed (and more!) to make our vacation to the Smoky Mountains just right! The cabin was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the forest off the deck. Our only complaints would be the TVs are dated, and we had a hard time figuring out how to the turn them on (2-3 remote controls for each TV in the cabin). Instructions would have been helpful. However, we didn't have time to watch a lot of TV, so it wasn't a huge issue to us. Also, there were NO wine glasses! I actually went to Dollar General and bought some wine glasses for our use. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at Second Nature!
