About David Butler

David & Mary have visited Highlands for 30 years, initially camping. We have traveled in many areas of the world and have included some of our treasures for all to enjoy in this very special home Antiques, artwork, and Persian rugs. We love to hike, cook and garden. David's artwork is hung throughout our home.

Why David Butler chose Highlands

Highlands is a rare gem in the mountain communities. It has quaint charm, natural beauty and abundant hiking, waterfalls for day adventures, while world class shopping and restaurants await you at days end. We chose this neighborhood because it is the perfect combination of mountain solitude with all the conveniences of being close to town.

What makes this cottage unique

The central location, peaceful views and living combines the indoors and the outdoors. Hiking, waterfalls, nearness to town make this the perfect setting.

Guestbook comments from the owner

David and Mary, We had a lovely time and enjoyed the porch and fireplace so much. No one back home believes me when I tell them we had a blazing fire and I was covered up in a blanket. We would still like to slip away in August now that grandkids have a longer break. I had been away from computer since the 14th and we were coming in from Washington and Williamsburg so I had not checked my email. Because we had just left the congestion and noise of the big city, the mtns. were a double blessing. Thanks again. Will recommend your home to others.

cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cozy cabin! Because there are essentially two master bedrooms, It was ideal for myself, my husband, and another couple. We enjoyed using both the indoor and outdoor fireplace. The temperatures were too chilly (for us) to enjoy the hot tub, but it was working well! We had no problems finding the cabin! Enjoyed every moment of our weekend!

Escape from the heat!

  • 5 of 5

We came up for our second visit this year. The house is comfortable and convenient. We enjoyed visiting the waterfalls and making a trip to Cashier and Sapphire Valley. The restaurants are always fun. We especially enjoyed tasting a variety of wines at the new wine shop in town.
