This La Jolla Shores home has a relaxing atmosphere and fun seaside inspired furnishings and decorations. La Jolla Shores is a bedroom community next to the beach. The home is located just to the left of the red roofed buildings in main listing photo. It's just one block to Avenida De La Playa where all of the restaurants and shops are loctaed and less than two blocks to La Jolla Shores Beach and Kellogg Park. The park has a children's playground and is right next to the beach. This home is in the best location in The Shores! The world famous La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club is just around the corner and La Jolla Cove is a 10-15 minute walk or a short drive away. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features a fireplace, central heating and air conditioning, cozy living room that opens to the remodeled, well-equipped kitchen. The lovely outdoor sitting area off the kitchen/dining area has a BBQ, fire pit, and comfortable lounge seating. Another private patio is located off the master and has two Chaise Lounges.

The home is airy with stylish, yet comfortable furnishings and every modern convenience you will want while on vacation at the beach. The full kitchen is complete with everything you would require to prepare home cooked meals. Plenty of seating as there is a great breakfast bar as well as dining table that can seat 7. The living room has a gas fireplace and is furnished with a 42 ' flat screen TV, DVD player, and full cable channels.

The master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed, flat screen TV, and also has its own private patio area which is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or some afternoon sun. The second bedroom has a queen size bed , flat screen TV, and large closet. The third bedroom is located just off the living room area and has bunk beds (twin over full) and beautiful glass pained doors that lead outside into the courtyard/patio area. There are two full size bathrooms in the home. All linens (sheets, pillows, blankets, bath towels, beach towels) are provided.

The La Jolla Shores Cape Cod has a quiet and private courtyard/patio area, which is ideal for barbeques, outdoor dining and entertaining. There is a gas barbeque in the courtyard with all cooking utensils provided and an outdoor dining area with seating for six. A full size washer and dryer are located in the home for your convenience. Off street parking for one car is provided in an enclosed gated driveway.

La Jolla Shores is a beach and popular vacation/residential community of the same name in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The quaint La Jolla Shores business district is a relaxed, mixed-use village encircling Laureate Park, on Avenida de la Playa in the village of La Jolla Shores. The village has several fine dining restaurants as well as plenty of casual dining places, shops, and a few galleries. You can take surf lessons and rent surfboards, boogie boards, paddle boards, and wetsuits from Surf Diva. Kayak, snorkel, and bike tours and rentals are available at San Diego Bike and Kayak.

The beach is approximately one mile long and stretches from the sea cliffs just north of La Jolla Cove to Black’s Beach south of Torrey Pines State Park. The Shores meets the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus and Kellogg Park (with a playground right next to the beach), encompasses the Scripps Pier and borders the San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve to the south. The beach is a popular launch point for kayakers and has a swimming area only and a surfing only area.

Sea World, Downtown Gaslamp District, PetCo Park, San Diego Zoo, Qualcomm Stadium, Mission Bay, San Diego Bay, and the Airport are all within a 10-15 minute drive.

I am originally from Lanikai Hawaii where my grandmother had a vacation rental for over 50 years. I moved to La Jolla in 1990 to attend San Diego State University and never left. I have been a top producing realtor in La Jolla since 2002 and specialize in the purchase and sale of vacation homes and investment properties. My wife and I purchased this home as well as the one next door where we live with our three children. There isn't a better location in La Jolla or San Diego for that matter than La Jolla Shores.

Perfect house in the perfect location!

La Jolla Gem!

This property is great for 2 couples, even if there are a couple of kids. You can walk to a Main St. for beach, food and beverages and a little shopping or it's a quick uber ride (under 10 bucks) to get into the village for shopping, eating, sea lion/seal watching or to watch a beautiful sunset while having a glass of wine. The home is spacious and clean and met all our expectations. We felt very safe with a lock on the car port and it had an outside sitting area with a beautiful fire pit to enjoy. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks Brant for your hospitality!

Cozy & convenient

We stayed for two weeks at this property, and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location is wonderful- two blocks to some of the best restaurants in the San Diego area, three blocks to a great beach, and a short walk into downtown La Jolla.

The house itself is private and quiet, blocked from street noise (which is minimal) by another house. We were able to fit a Lexus and a Jag in the gated parking area- anyone who stays in La Jolla knows that off-street parking is a real luxury. Everything in the house worked- a/c, barbecue grill, microwave, lights, TV's, washer-dryer, driveway gate, digital door lock, etc. Very clean accommodations.

The house might sleep up to seven, but that would make the living room very crowded- three people can sit comfortably on the couch to talk or watch TV. But we don't go on vacation to watch TV, do we? The master bedroom is very spacious. Bed are comfortable and easy on the back.

We hope to stay in this property again.

Great house and location for our family of four!

-- nice house with all the basics on hand

-- gated driveway and patio area a nice safe place for kids to play outside

-- beds were comfy and nice to have a fold out crib available for baby!

-- super convenient to have beach toys and wagon on hand

-- fire pit a nice touch as well!

-- five minute walk from beach, restaurants and even walkable to birch aquarium (25 min walk) and Lo Jolla Cove for hiking and sea lions (25 min walk)

-- Highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

We hope to rent this home again next year!!

Grandparents in large bedroom, parents and baby in queen bedroom with pack and play and 3 young children in bunkbed room. Close living, but being a 10 minute walk (with provided wagon piled high with chairs, boogie boards and sand toys.. bring bungie cords!!) to a very child friendly beach right next to a playground and restrooms made it all worth while. Dishware and cookware is provided, but remember to bring aluminum foil, paper towels, and containers to store leftovers in. I found this home on VRBO and was worried my daughter and son-in-law would find it too cramped, but they loved it and found the price very reasonable. Grandpa loved the easy flat walk to meet us for a few hours at the beach, and the shops 2 blocks away on the way to the beach provided croissants and sweet rolls in the morning, ice cream and gumballs on the way home, restaurants and pizza, and even a kayak tour which my daughter and I enjoyed one morning. There were a few drawbacks, including the mattresses which are not at all comfortable, especially for those with bad backs. The owners are of course very concerned about sand, but perhaps an outdoor shower would be easier than the hose where all the little flower buds make it difficult to get everything off. An investment in indoor outdoor rugs (LLBean sells great ones) might be worthwhile. But overall, this was a fantastic home base for a wonderful vacation at the beach.

Owner's Response: We value the input of our guests and do whatever is possible to accommodate upgrades without having to raise the rates. We are happy to see that this guest has already booked the home for their vacation next summer so we are a little puzzled by some of the comments and would like to address them. The beach is less than a 1/4 of mile (two blocks) from the home. We live next door with our three children and even if we are walking very slow it doesn't take us more than 5 minutes to get to the beach and Kellogg Park. Avenida De La Playa (name of the street) where all of the shops and restaurants are is just one block away and the beach is just around the corner from there. We do provide enough toilet paper and paper towels for each guest's stay. We just bought a new set of containers after reading this review. Unfortunately they disappear quite often. All of the mattresses are relatively new and we have never had a negative comment about them until this review. I have a very bad lower back and had surgery in June. My family stayed at the home the week after this family and we all think the mattresses are very comfortable. There is a hose next to the front door which our guests have been using to wash off sand for for years now. Unfortunately, outdoor rugs do not do well at the beach.
