Our house is a federal 1935 Colonial located just twenty minutes from Cambridge, thirty from Boston and all city amenities. It is in the rural village of Lincoln and located between two working farms that are wonderful for children as well as buying fresh produce and meat! We are a mile from the beautiful town pool and two miles from Walden Pond where we swim and fish all summer. We are literally a five minute walk to a grocery store, gas station, pizza place, sandwich shop, gifts shops, a French/Asian restaurant and the Commuter rail! The house is gorgeous, with a gourmet kitchen with laundry unit, five bedrooms, living room, formal dining room and TV den. We are also the next town over from the quintessential New England town of Concord which is known for its shops, kids theatre program, restaurants and beauty. The area is very child friendly and anyone coming with children should contact me about programs, camps, etc!!!
We are a family of five; both of us are in the conflict resolution fields; Darren focusing on African and Daria on local conflicts and restorative justice. Our three children are 14, 11, and 9. We live in this beautiful home all year but during the summer months we like to get away for a bit. We love our small town but also our excursions to the nearby towns and cities. We both work in Boston and the commute is easy!

Our extended family stayed at this property for a week over the summer and couldn't have been more pleased. We found the property to be just what was listed: a beautiful, stately historic home with plenty of room for all of us, surrounded by lovely, lush grounds in a charming town close to Boston. The owner graciously answered all of our questions and gave us great local tips like a delicious nearby Indian restaurant and when was the best time to go swimming at Walden Pond in nearby Concord (which we did!). Gorgeous kitchen, beautiful deck, lots of seating, incredibly kid-friendly. We were a 30-minute drive from the amazing New England Aquarium in Boston, loved our time at Plimouth Plantation, and also explored Minuteman State Park and Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House in Concord. One day we took the commuter train and subway into Boston (the station was less than a ten-minute walk from the house) and walked the Freedom Trail. A great place for families looking to explore Boston as well as its surrounding historic sites.
