For activities, in summer the crystal clear 10 Lake Manitowish Chain provides fun filled full days on the water swimming, fishing, tubing, and waterskiing, not too mention a break for ice cream or lunch by boat. During slow boat rides throughout the lakes you will also find white sand beaches to take a plung or simply enjoy the sun on the water.
For those that want to start there day quietly they will also enjoy canoeing the tranquil waters with only the loons and abundant wildlife before the fun filled family day begins.
And, in the evening favorite activities include going by boat to dinner at one of the 4 fabulous northwoods restaurants, strolling down to the lodge for a fish fry or homemade pizza or grilling out and then going for a sunset cruise.
In fall, activities continue on the beautiful Manitowish Chain as colors of fall come to life. Hiking, biking, great fishing, hunting or simple walks in the crisp autumn air among towering pines are all activities that attract repeat guests to the area.
In winter families enjoy skiing at the ski areas 30 miles north in the upper peninsula, cross country skiing on grommed trails deep into the woods along winter streams or snowmobiling some of the best trails in northern Wisconsin directly from your back door! Or, simply sitting in front of a fire burning in the cabins full cobblestone fireplace looking out on the lake surrounded by snow covered green pines.

Renters stay at the most beautiful waterfront location at the famous Aberdeen Lodge where New Ownership and Management Are Now Operating the Massive 5500 Square Foot Kid Friendly Bar and Restaurant. Have A Fabulous Day on the Water And Walk Down To The Lodge For A Great Dinner or Lunch!
We spent a great week in cabin. Our group included my wife and me, our daughter and her husband, and our nephew with his wife and two small children. The cabin owner, Doug, was receptive and quick to respond with information or assistance. For example, we had a small problem with the fridge dripping water inside. I emailed Doug in the evening and he had a repairman fix it by noon the next day. That was the only problem we had. Within a mile of the cabin are markets, bait shops, gas stations and the marina (Greer’s Pier). You can reach many restaurants or bars by car or boat (call ahead - many places close on Mon & Tues). The area is casual and we ate some 4-star meals in shorts and tee’s. Also the Aberdeen Lodge is located just up the drive and serves good food and has a bar, pool table & video games.
The cabin is even better than the site makes it out. The rooms are big and first rate but you also feel like you can put your feet up and relax. The three main bedrooms have attached baths. The primary master also has a sauna and large jetted tub off the master bath. The other two master bedrooms come with showers instead of tubs. The bathrooms came well stocked with towels and wash cloths. The kitchen comes with a large selection of pots and pans as well as plates, silverware and glassware. The main area has lots of natural light. The upstairs loft comes with fuss-ball table and tv area and a kids room with two beds as well as a pair a small beds out in the loft area. Outside is a huge deck lakeside with tables and chairs as well as a screened porch just off the kitchen. The cabin has a private dock and a large fire pit area that we used a lot. There are cabins on either side but are separated by a dense woods so its private. Next to the cabin sight is a lot with a small sand beach for the kids and a screened-in beach shelter for use by all. We were here in mid-late August so it may not be as busy as in July but we did not feel crowded ever at the communal beach.
We had never been to Manitowish Waters or the Aberdeen Lodge Cabins before but we will be back. It was one of those vacations that exceeded our expectations in just about every way. I recommend this cabin without reservation.
PS - We left a fishing map of the chain with notes of where we had luck. If you stay here please add to it so we have some new hot spots to check out when we come back. The guys at Greer's Pier are also helpful with fishing tips.
