We live in the mountains in Washington state and come to Kauai to escape the winter as often as we can.

Our lifelong dream has been to own a place in Kauai. We love the laidback pace and natural beauty of the islands. We chose Puamana because it's a quiet, well-managed condo complex, conveniently located near wonderful beaches and shopping.

A little hard to find in the dark, so follow the directions on the app, but so convenient. Loved the location! Very clean and everything is new. Very nice kitchen. Loved the use of the beach supplies, including boogie boards and lawn chairs.
We had an awesome second stay at the puamana. Large and clean unit with great beds. Would definitely stay here again!
Home is well appointed as many have said. It is right in Princeville, 15 minute walk to restaurants, retail & Foodland (or 5 min drive) and a quick, but steep walk/hike to a nice beach (Wylie Beach). It does need a deep clean - lots of dead bugs in light fixtures, cupboards could use a good scrubbing as there was dried food on the front of kitchen cabinets and art, portable fans, etc need a deep dusting. I mentioned this to housekeeping, but they said the owner needs to request and pay for this as a separate service. Only thing I would plan on bringing from home is possibly a pillow - I'm not a fan of the polyester fill pillows that are in the unit (no give & lack of support). It did have lots of outdoors equipment - we really appreciated the ice chest and beach mats. I'd say about 1/2 of the boogie boards there were broken so if this is a big deal to you pick some up at Costco as you leave the airport. Grill outside works great and was easy to use and figure out. Neighbors were nice. There are several fruit trees right next to the property so walk around and see what is available - most of the fruit was left to rot so I'd say visitors are welcome to it. I would NOT recommend the home for families with young children learning to walk or still a little unsteady on their feet. A lot of the furniture is metal & glass with very sharp edges that would be dangerous for little ones that fall frequently. Great unit for everyone else. We had a 4 and 8 year old with us and it worked beautifully for us. Mahalo!
My husband and i traveled with our friends and staied at the bangalo for a week. Amazing location, very nice spacious bedrooms, very comfortable beds, high ceilings, everything you need in the kitchen to cook. Excellent communication with the management company and truly enjoyed their website with all the useful information regarding our trip. Highly recommend!!! Mahalo!!
We had a great experience at this place. The house was nicely furnished and we had everything we needed there. We were able to cook our own meals to save money. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai with a drink on the beautiful nights. The place is very close to Hanalei Bay. We thought we were missing some cleaning supplies so I sent an e-mail to Darin. He responded in a short time to help us out. The rental agency that does the payment processing makes it a smooth process, as well. We had a great time at this place.
Puamana 1A is a turnkey vacation rental. It is clean, nicely laid out and equipped with every convenience a traveler might require. The kitchen is well stocked with every accessory necessary to self cater. We especially appreciated the salad spinner and rice cooker- small touches- but nice surprises. Washer/Dryer works great. Closets well equipped with plenty of hangars- again a small touch- but not always the case with a rental. Furnishings are as represented in photos- again - clean and well maintained.
There are chairs, beach towels, coolers and cooler ice packs- all you need for a day at the beach. We used the grill several times- worked fine. Nice, private patio off the master suite- surrounded by flowering plants and fruit bearing trees. We enjoyed the fresh lime in our gin and tonics!
We walked the golf course daily and enjoyed pau hana at the Happy Talk Lounge. The small grocery store in Princeville has anything you might need and what I would consider some of THE best poke.
The condo complex is quiet, and there were no issues with parking. Garbage and recycling are on premise.
Anytime spent on Kauai is special- this condo made it even more so.

Since we do not use VRBO/Homeaway online payment system, you will not be charges their booking fee which will save you about $100 compared to other properties that do use this system..
A 3% processing fee will be charged, by Oceanfront Realty, for payment via credit card. Oceanfront also accept a check by mail with no charge.
A refundable $500 security deposit is required. Alternatively, guests can choose to opt out of the $500 refundable security deposit and instead pay $39 for the non-refundable security deposit waiver (covers 3K in accidental damages!). One or the other is required.
