The property was very clean and in a great location. There were 6 of us and we all had a great stay. Looking forward to do it again. Highly recommended. A++
Wonderful experience staying at the Lazy Acorn Lake house. Visited the Cadillac area for snowmobiling. Not enough snow to ride from the house to trail but less than 10 min drive to trailer them to trailhead. Very clean, slept 4 adults and one child comfortably in nice, new beds. Double bed in one room and full size bunk beds in the other. 2 futons in living room could be used for sleeping but one of them had a pretty worn mattress. My son loved the vhs movie selection! Would definitely stay again when visiting the area and would recommend others to stay and enjoy the lake house! Great memories made!
My dog and I really enjoyed the Lazy Acorn for a relaxing getaway. My only complaint is that I expected a little more space between houses. This seems to be common with real estate photos where there appears to be more. And I also agree with everything Candy W. wrote. I did think it said somewhere that there were DVD's as well as VHS tapes. I never found any. It also would have been nice to watch the evening news but I believe the TV was only set up to play tapes and DVD's.
It was not the easiest place to find but now I know where it is I would definitely consider going back sometime.
We enjoyed the stay at the lake house. We were there for 3 days and wish it could have been longer. It was very relaxing to sit out in the backyard by the water and enjoy a fire in the nice outside fire pit. It is a relaxed home/cottage with nature around and yet not to far from town.
We had pets and they enjoyed the stay as well. There is a quiet street for walking (with or without pets)with a nice lake view across the street as well. There are roads around to enjoy the scenery with the beautiful foliage and leaves changing.
If you are looking for a place to stay that is affordable and a relaxed environment and yet accommodating this is a good place to stay. We went for nature, scenery and some R&R. We would definitely stay here again.

The place was exactly what we needed. We were on a little hunting trip, and during the day we did some fishing. The cabin backs right up to a canal that leads into lake Mitchell. We docked our boat with no issues.
We had 5 men on our trip and there was a bed for all of us. The place was great, owner was great, and the price was great.
For the price, you can't beat this little cottage. It was actually bigger than we expected upon arrival; of course, it's not large, but it was plenty for the two of us. The deck on the back has been upgraded with a railing, and there is A/C in one of the bedrooms if needed. The cottage was clean upon arrival, however, we cleaned again for our use, and cleaned again upon leaving. The neighbors were very friendly and the neighborhood so peaceful; we took long walks daily and nearly everyone we passed (even many vehicles passing by) waved and said hello. The area felt very "safe", and this is definitely an option for a return visit to the area.
Lake Mitchell is just across the street - so there are houses between you and the lake, but you can still see just a bit of the water below the yard of the neighbors across the street out the kitchen window. When taking walks, you can see the water.
Keep in mind there is no TV (only VHS tapes), but we honestly didn't miss TV at all. Also, the full sized bed in the bunk bed room has somewhat of a hole in the center, so you keep rolling down into that hole; would be GREAT to get a full sized mattress for that bed (believe it's currently a futon mattress). The full bed in the other room, although squeaky, was comfortable.
All in all, as mentioned, for the price, we can't complain, and is a potential for return. The area is just beautiful.
Note that the owner was great with returning messages with questions, so he's great to work with.
