Not an ideal location for families with young children. The lake was dirty (kids couldn't even swim in it), the backyard is very uneven (ended up with a sprained ankle) and the deck is quite small so we couldn't enjoy meals outdoors. The home itself is okay, at best. It could definitely use a deep cleaning and is in need of major updating. Also, just an fyi....the owners will require your personal home owner's insurance policy information in order to book their cottage. We have rented many cottages over the years and found this to be a questionable practice/request.
The cottage was very nice. very clean and well kept. The only issue I have is the grandchildren had no place to swim around there. I am still waiting to receive my deposit back however. We did leave it clean and most of the towels and bedding washed for the next people.
comfortable and spacious. Gorgeous view. Lots to do nearby. Owner was helpful and accommodating.
Beautiful property fitting for four couples. Large modern kitchen, more than adequate bathrooms, and stunning lake view. Would return again! Owner was also very accommodating and friendly along the process of rental.
The cottage is located about 2 hours away from Toronto and it is close to stores if you need to buy groceries or drinks. There is a Walmart and LCBO within a 10 minute drive in Hanover. The location is very quiet and beautiful, with only a few cottages on the lake. You cannot swim right in front of the house, but you can walk farther out (the water is shallow) to swim. We brought a boat and there were some fish in the lake for recreational catch and release fishing.
Unlike other cottages we have rented before, the house was very well stocked with everything you need. Paper towels, toilet paper, an abundance of towels, pantry items, spices, etc. It was also well equipped with a large kitchen with many appliances and a BBQ with a gas hookup so you do not have to worry about getting propane. We really enjoyed our stay and we are planning to return next year. Thank you to the owners!
Great place to stay, right on the lake. So peaceful and quiet. Close to grocery and nearby attractions. Owners were great to work with.
