You and your family and friends will feel welcomed and right at home in this spacious custom built home across the street from Belleau Lake at 450 Belleau Blvd. in E. Wakefield, NH. The pictures speak a thousand words. You can enter the house from either the first or second level. The first level features double doors that bring you into the family room, complete with pool/ping pong table, darts, pull out couch, and warm comfy sofas and chairs to watch cable TV, or your favorite internet-based programming with the Roku 3 adapter, along with stereo sound. Just off the family room is a full bathroom, as well as a bedroom with a full size bed. Additionally, the laundry room with washer and dryer are located on this level.
Going upstairs to the second level (from either inside or outside), you'll enter the spacious living room with 2 stories of windows facing Belleau Lake and two plush recliner couches. Also on this level is the fully-equipped kitchen with everything a gourmet cook would need to prepare sumptuous meals for the whole gang (except the food). For those cool nights, there's a cozy woodstove with firewood provided. There's room for eight at the dining room table, along with several stools at the breakfast bar. Just off the dining area is a deck with Charbroil gas grill and umbrella'ed picnic table for outdoor dining. This deck leads down to the first level deck that measures 36'x9' with plenty of lounge chairs and even a porch swing.
Off the living room are two spacious bedrooms with full size beds, cable TV, and ceiling fans. In addition, there is a full bath located just outside the bedrooms.
Off the living room, there's an open staircase that leads to the loft area which overlooks the living room and catches all that light from the 2 stories of windows, and where you can enjoy times of solitude on the pull-out couch, read, or watch TV. And off the loft is another bedroom with a full and a twin bed.
Each bedroom has cable TV along with a ceiling fan, and plenty of storage for clothes, and all linens, pillows, blankets, and towels are supplied. And there are two sleeper sofas for extra guests.
For outdoor activities, our private Vachon Beach is a one minute walk away, and where we have a canoe and paddleboat ready for your enjoyment on the lake. If golf is your game, Province Lake Golf Course is less than five minutes away. There are several great restaurants within a mile - 3 right at the end of Belleau Blvd., whether it's breakfast, pizza/subs, or seafood and steaks - they're all right here.
Not far from here are all the activities you can imagine. Historic Portland seaport is only an hour away, and 45 minutes away is the shopping, recreation, and attractions of North Conway and Lake Winnipesaukee, making this vacation home the perfect jumping off point for all that New Hampshire and Maine have to offer.
And if the power ever goes out, don't worry. There's a whole house generator that will kick in within 10 seconds, so you'll never be without power.
Enjoy your vacation!!!
We just spent a week in this beautiful house, and we greatly recommend it! The owner was very accommodating and helpful to us. We enjoyed the beach and the lake. It's a wonderful get-away in which to relax and refresh. We hope to come back next summer as well. :)
Could not have been happier with our stay! The place is spacious, clean and comfortable. We felt at home right away. Plenty of places to sleep, entertainment spaces, or escape from others. Though not right on the water it was close enough. As for the lake we loved it! It was quiet and clean. We felt relaxed with our little ones playing at the waters edge and wading out. The community was welcoming and friendly. We were looking for an out of the way quiet retreat and Belleau Lake was definitely that! Thank you letting us come to your place.
Even though I had seen photos, the first actual sighting of this house took my breath away! A gorgeous, clean, roomy house with plenty of space to be together or be alone if one wished. While the weekend (4th of July) was rather hectic with ATVs and mopeds on the road, during the week was peaceful and quiet. the weather was perfect, and it was a short walk to the beach and the beautiful lake. While we were rather lazy and content to lay on the beach or swim, the paddle boat and canoe were there if we wanted. Due to the very dry weather, we didn't try to get a permit to use the fire pit, but Bill made it very easy if we had wanted to.
The house itself was well-stocked with games, videos, a ping pong/pool table, darts, whatever we could want to do was there! We spent every evening playing games and just enjoying being together. Everything was just as we were told it would be. The bedrooms are charming (an old-fashioned word, but I think accurate) - I loved the decor!
Day trips were easy - we went to Attitash mountain for a day - just over an hour each way, and a really pretty ride. Grocery shopping was about 15 minutes away - not bad, and the ride allowed for lots of views of mountains, horses and other wildlife. We went to the little country store down the road a couple of times for ice cream, and spent our last evening singing karaoke at the Blue Bay across the road - lots of fun! We also had breakfast at Cindy's Place one morning - a nice change, very friendly folks there!
In all, I would absolutely recommend this house, location and owner.
We spent a week at Belleau and hated to leave! Bill, the owner was extremely easy to work with, gave us lots of helpful tips about the area, and they stock the place with everything you need. We've been doing Homeaway rentals for at least ten years, and what a bonus to have linens, towels, pantry items and even some toiletries provided! When They say all you need to bring is your food and clothes, they're right!
Our adult children (18-24) enjoyed ping pong tournaments and the pool table, and even the board games.
We used the house as our home-base while taking day trips to Portland, Portsmouth and Kennebunkport (an hr away), and Mt. Washington (90 min). We also enjoyed time at the lake with the canoe, paddleboat, and swimming. The house on Belleau will hold a special place in our vacation memories, and while we don't usually go to the same location twice for vacation, it was mentioned that we might have to break tradition and go back again! We just loved it!
Thank you Bill... You've got it right at the Belleau house. Thank you for sharing it with us!
I stayed in this property over New Year's weekend. It was a great time!
Bill (the owner) was also extremely helpful and quick to answer any questions we had!
This home was a great place to stay for our son's wedding in Effingham. The owner was very prompt in answering questions and flexible on our length of stay. The home was very clean and well taken care of. It included the needed amenities, especially wi-fi. We were all very comfortable. Thanks Bill.
