The perfect place to get away from it all. Just a 15 minute coastal ride to Carmel or the heart of Big Sur, on a paved road, just past Rocky Point Restaurant. Situated on a secluded parcel of Redwood groves, a flowing creek and calming peace.
The main house is a 2 bed/1 bath spacious cabin. One of the original homesteaded cabins, built in the late 1800's. It is updated and decorated for that cozy cabin experience. Pillow top/memory foam queen mattresses in both bedrooms. Cozy up to a wood burning stove in the large living room with 46' flat screen TV/DVD player and extensive video library. Separate dining area and large kitchen. A wonderful wrap around deck, to enjoy the canyon views! 4 person maximum. $275/night, plus $100 refundable cleaning fee.
The second home is an adorable lofted studio, with upstairs bedroom (stairs are fairly steep and open railing upstairs, be sure to view our additional pictures). Decorated for that cozy cabin feel. Wood burning stove, full kitchenette, flat screen TV/DVD and video library. Full size bed with down comforter. Also an enormous wrap around deck. It is perfect for 1 or 2 people. 2 person maximum, adults only. $165/night, plus $45 refundable cleaning fee.

The perfect place to enjoy the rustic nature of Big Sur and have the experience of living like the locals.
Wood burning stoves are the cabin's main heat source. Wood is supplied by owner.
This is our second time staying at the studio cabin and, I'm not sure why, but it was even better than the first time. I think it was like coming home to an old friend. The owners are incredibly friendly but give you your space, the cabin, albeit small, has everything you need. The deck is super providing plenty of seating and the road you are staying on is not only perfectly located for the area, it's also pretty special itself, especially if are in love with all things forest. We noticed that being that we had seen a lot of Big Sur and Carmel our first time around, we spent more time this time around just sitting outside the cabin because it is so peaceful and beautiful. Staying here is a perfect addition to an already incredible trip! Highly recommend.
We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days in this wonderful main cabin nestled in the Redwood forest. The pictures in the website do not include the magical feeling that you get when you first encounter this cabin. The cabin is surrounded by giant redwood trees and the property even had it's own running stream. The beds were very comfortable and the heat from the wood burning fire stove made the cabin very cozy. Our first night in the cabin we met Abraham, Lisa's Husband. Abraham was really friendly guy and showed us how to use the wood burning fire place. The Kitchen area had all of the utensils, pots, and condiments that you will need to prepare your meals. The beds are really comfortable. Over All, if you are looking for a cozy cabin to just relax and be away from it all then this is the place for you. The cabin's location was ideal if you want to spend a day hiking in Big Sur. It's a few miles away from Point Lobos and we even made it out to Monterrey Aquarium.
Our family of 4 had the most enchanting cozy winter stay in the woods...it was immaculate, magical and heart-warming. We had some cool days, some chilly nights, but the cabin with its firewood burning made it a perfect get-together. Big fridge, well-supplied kitchen with spices and condiments, very comfy beds...beware though...it's so crisp clean, comfortable and snug you'll sleep till noon like we did!! I did not meet Lisa but her instructions were clear and her attention to detail could be seen through the charming ambiance she created in the cabin. We tremendously enjoyed the drive through the towering redwood forest, and would definitely recommend this place to those who enjoy living in the woods with all the comforts of home.
I know my stay was some time ago now and I could just have not written this review, but I was thinking about 2015 and this truly was a highlight.
A wonderful place to retreat to with my family, in a magical setting. We loved the beautiful bigger cottage , which was warm and cozy and all its amenities. We had a toddler and a baby and this was perfect! the best was the sky lights and the sound of rain hitting the log cabin...i have some magical pictures of a sudden rain and thundershower we experienced...Then we grilled on the open grill area and just soaked in the off grid experience. Lisa was a wonderful hostess !!
Wonderful stay at this cabin/studio in the Big Sur redwoods. So much good to say about this place, however, our favorites were the sky lights above the bed so we could watch the sunrise in the forest from bed in the loft and, the coziness of this rental. So relaxing and so perfect for our stay. Highly recommended.
Just know that the stairs to the loft are steep; the main house on the property is very close; the kitchen is small with all the basics (over, gas stove, utensils, fridge, etc) and not suitable for cooking big or elaborate meals; and the rentals are in a "neighborhood" (although very quiet) and not isolated from other homes or local traffic noise (the neighborhood is stretched out in this narrow canyon with houses spread out on either side of the creek. it is not a typical neighborhood). So beautiful to stay here.
We rented the main cabin for 3 nights with our two teenagers and our medium sized dog. Such a beautiful setting and a sweet cabin. It is rustic and up a set of stairs for able-bodied people, which we are. (I noticed most of the cabins in the area were up a good set of stairs.) Enjoyed it so much. The walls are probably original, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 - pretty much a partition between the 2 rooms instead of a private wall. Other than that it is so nice & relaxing - full of games and dvds and a lovely wrap around balcony to relax on in the evenings after a nice hike. Thanks Lisa for a mellow & fun few days off the grid.
