Rare freestanding 2 story home located in the heart of the city!
The Wrigleyville Coach House is a nice place for a group of people. My family spent a week in Chicago and the house was just right for us. It was clean and well stocked with bedding and towels. Chris was very accommodating and helpful with checking in and out. The house is only 2 blocks from the Brown Line Paulina stop so getting anywhere in the city was so easy. Located right next to the Whole Foods and many restaurants are within 2-3 block walk. Parking is available if you drive to the city. We felt very safe in the area and comfortable walking anywhere at any hour of the day or night. Couple things to be aware of: the house backs up to an alley and they do deliveries to Whole Food at night (they were noisy and it interrupted some sleep) as did the garbage pick up which happened in the early hours of the morning; also there is no table to eat at so be prepared to eat on the couches with the coffee table. Overall our experience was very good. I would stay here again!
Our North Carolina family chose to celebrate Thanksgiving in Chicago this year. Our oldest daughter and her family live in Wrigleyville just blocks from Wrigley Field. My husband and two other adult children and I were looking for a place to stay that was close enough for us to walk back and forth between the two houses. When I saw Chris' VRBO listing, it appeared to be the perfect set up! Chris was easy to contact, the place was clean, in great working order, and just as the pictures portrayed it to be. Not being used to the cold temps, we were afraid that maybe the heating be inadequate, but it was great! The showers both had great water pressure and the tv's were easy to operate. We had a delightful Thanksgiving weekend in Chicago! Thanks, Chris (and property manager, Chris) for being so easy to deal with!
The apt worked out great for us, total of five people staying one week. Beds were comfortable and the apt was very clean when we checked in. Wrigleyville neighborhood is so cool as well as the nearby bars and people were so friendly. Location to train was so convenient.
My suggestions for owners for improvement within the apt - 1) Have a welcome/info book with misc. information about the apt and neighborhood, i.e. Since there is no W/D in apt, recommend local laundrymats, info where the garbage bins are located, maybe a list of recommended restaurants with menus, etc. 2) Maybe add Keurig coffee machine and definitely add wine bottle opener. 3) Maybe add some sort of curtain for the first floor bed in the annexed room for some privacy to change clothes since its right next to the living room.
All in all the place worked out great for us and Chris (owner) was very easy to work with and Chris (property manager) was very helpful checking us in and being available for questions. We were also very fortunate with weather in Chicago in November felt like summertime. Big thumbs up for the Northdown Cafe and Taproom round the corner - Great beers and foods.
Would definitely stay here again. Loved the city!
I loved that there were so many good restaurants and many amenities within a minutes walking distance. Whole Foods was right next door which made it very convenient to buy groceries. There was an Urgent Care right across the street that we also had to visit but it was nice to be so close! I highly recommend Tapatio restaurant.
All in all, the Cubs Won! The Cowboys Won and we had a great safe place to rest our heads at night!!! Thanks to Chris for allowing us the opportunity to stay at his friends lovely place, it was awesome!!! Love Chicago and Go Cubs Go!
Hosts were awesome and the house was central and clean but the beds weren't the best. It's a great place for a group looking to have a great time in Chicago, and we did! Can't wait to come back, Go Cubs!
Rented the Coach House for our Wrigley Weekend August 11-14. It is as advertised. Clean and maintained. Easy walk to the games at Wrigley Field. The House worked perfect for our group of 8 adults and one baby. Sits back off the street for privacy. Chris supplied us with parking passes so we parked our car on the back street and either walked or used Uber to and from. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Try the Wishbone Restaurant one block away for breakfast. We look forward to staying here again and will recommend to friends and family.
