If you want to plan adventures to Disneyland, Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, the La Jolla Aquarium or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, San Clemente is centrally located between all those venues. Either direction you drive, your adventures are freeway close and about 45 minutes away.

Why stay at a cramped condo or apartment when you can stay at this spacious three-level beach home that sleeps 6 - 8 with room to spare? The top level includes a master suite with king bed, full bathroom, ceiling fan and private balcony looking towards the ocean (enjoy a morning cup of coffee while sitting outside on your balcony.)

The front bedroom features a queen bed (with cable TV in room), wall air-conditioning and the middle bedroom has two twin beds with ceiling fan. All the bedrooms have comfy beds and are beautifully decorated with new linens and bedding. If you need extra sleeping space, the sofa in the living room converts to a queen size bed. (A toddler bed and pack-n-play is also available if needed.)

The tiled main floor includes a large living room and ocean-view balcony. Sit back and relax with a cool drink as you watch the sunset every evening. Above the fireplace in the living room is a 47” big screen TV with cable including HBO and Netflix.

The cozy gas fireplace lights with the flick of a switch and keeps you toasty warm on cool nights. The dining room flows into a modern kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. A slider off the kitchen leads to the enclosed backyard.

The bottom floor includes a large laundry room with washer/dryer and 1-car garage (plus parking in driveway.) In the garage we have boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs, a rolling cooler, a big wagon for the kids, jogging stroller, sand toys, and two adult size beach cruiser bikes.

This home is perfect for the family that wants to relax and enjoy time together. The private backyard has a BBQ, outdoor dining furniture and umbrella.

San Clemente is an excellent place to cycle, golf, and surf near the pier. San Onofre surf beach and Trestles Beach are also close-by.

Bret and Michelle Howe welcome you to our beautiful beach home in San Clemente. Bret is an avid surfer and one day after surfing nearby he discovered this wonderful home for sale. We bought it and now enjoy it whenever we don’t have guests using it. We have three married children and five small grandchildren who love to share our beach house with us. San Clemente is a wonderful place for families and every weekend we find fun things to do within walking distance of our beach house.

Bret and I are also cyclists and can recommend places to ride on your vacation. We live only 25 minutes away and know Orange County “like the back of our hand.”

Why Michelle Howe chose Orange County

Both my husband and I grew up in beach communities and we always wanted to have a home near the beach. We both fell in love with San Clemente when we started looking for our vacation beach home. You feel like you have entered another time and place of years ago when things were slower and people knew their neighbors. In fact, we met more neighbors in our first few weeks of San Clemente ownership, than we ever did in the 14 years at our other house. Everyone is so friendly; it’s like living in a small town where everyone knows your name.

What makes this townhome unique

This house is set up to be a vacation beach home for our family, so we do use it whenever it is not being rented. Because of this, we make sure everything is in tip-top shape and take note of what we can do to make your stay more pleasant.

Probably the best thing about this house is its short walking distance to the beach, pier and Del Mar Street. We like to take long walks on the beach trails and take our grandkids to the wonderful parks close-by. Sunday mornings we walk along Del Mar to enjoy the farmer’s market and other activities happening every weekend. It seems like San Clemente has always got something going on nearby our house.

We also love the fact that anyone can get here by train. The Amtrak Coaster stops right at the pier, just minutes from our house. Our guests can walk to the train station and hitch a ride to San Diego to visit the zoo or take the train north to visit Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, the Long Beach Aquarium or even Los Angeles.

Great Place To Stay

This duplex is in a great location. Central to both Del Mar and the beach. It was very clean and comfortable. Nice to not worry about bringing beach towels. Well supplied with everything you need for the beach. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great home base for a beach stay!

We had a great time! We brought 5 of our kids with us, and had plenty of room. The house was well equipped, comfortable, and even though our big van wouldn't fit in the garage, there was plenty of room in the driveway, so we didn't have to worry about street parking. Walking distance to Del Mar (Main Street) the beach, and plenty of restaurants. 10 minutes from Doheny State beach as well :)

Great property!

We rented both sides of this duplex for a multi generational family reunion. It was perfect! The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen amenities were just as described! The bonus of beach accessories and plenty of linens made this easy for traveling from another state.

LOCATION was exceptional....10 minute walk to beach and pier and 5 minutes to the adorable town of San Clemente. The owner made everything easy!

Vacation, June 2016

PROS-

LOCATION- Could bike around to the downtown shops, library and the beach. However there was parking for a small fee at the beach and free parking downtown. The neighborhood was quiet in the evenings.Lots of folks walking during the day.

HOUSE PARKING- There was a single car garage parking spot as well as room for a second car in the driveway. The streets are very busy and the parking space was a huge plus!

BATHROOMS were very clean and felt updated.

OVERALL SPACE was comfortable. Enjoyed opening the sliding glass doors and letting the ocean breeze blow through.

COMMUNICATION with Michelle was great. She was quick to respond to emails and was friendly too.

CONS-

KITCHEN all of the cookware needs to be replaced or added to. There were not pots or pans big enough to cook meals for 8 guest as the home says it accommodates. Luckily we had brought a large pot from home. A majority of the dishes and silverware in the cabinets had food or some kind of film on them. There was a sponge to wash dishes but it was very old. We did replace it. There was a half roll of paper towels and no extras to be found. The trash can lid was broken. I did inform Michelle of this and she said she was unaware and would be replacing it. Pretty sure the top of the refrigerator hasn't been wiped clean in a year. I keep a very clean kitchen and this kitchen made it a little hard to relax in.

BEDDING had several stains on 3 of 4 bedspreads. I did let Michelle know and it appeared as if she was unaware and would be attending to it. Sheets however did smell clean.

BOOK OF INFORMATION needed updating. Papers are all worn and some of the dates and information is incorrect.

LAUNDRY I did not like being asked to put the towels in the dryer at the end of our stay. However, didn't mind putting them in the washer. With all the chaos of packing up the family and getting out by 11 the last thing I wanted to do was a load of laundry in addition to the cleaning fee I had already paid.

WOULD I STAY IN THIS HOME AGAIN...

Probably! Overall this is a nice home.

I do believe that if the kitchen was cleaner and cookware updated as well as the bedspreads were stain free this home would be a 5-star!

It appeared to me that the majority of the issues maybe a lack of communication of the expectations of the owners for the cleaners.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at our property. I spoke to the cleaning crew about your concerns and they understand that they need to do a better job of not only cleaning, but informing me if there is a problem. I personally went through all the cupboards and drawers to find anything that might need hand washing. (Just like at home, sometimes the dishwasher doesn't do a good job of cleaning and the item must be hand washed.) Two new sponges and a cleaning brush are in the kitchen. In addition, I bought all new pots and pans for the kitchen. (A beautiful Farberware set.) We do have an 8 quart and 6 quart stockpot in the kitchen, so I am not sure what other larger size pot you needed for food preparation. I have gone through your complaints one by one and corrected everything. I am sorry you were unhappy with some of the things during your stay, but I can't fix things unless I know about them. I really wish you had called me as soon as you noticed a problem and I would have immediately fixed the problems. My guests comfort is very important to me and I want them to have a positive experience while staying at our home. Anything we can do to make it better, we will do.

Perfect beach home

This was my second time staying here, we love this beautiful beach home! I enjoy the short walk to the beach, and its walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The home is cozy and has a few nice patios and a cute little backyard.
