A mountain cabin that's beautifully furnished and comfortable. It has a queen in the master bedroom and one in the other .This cabin has a full bath, a fully equipped kitchen as well as a washer and dryer ..We have WIFI and are also pet friendly. You can take a short walk to the village with many unique shops and restaurants . Cloudcroft is a friendly town with many fun events during the year.Bring your family for a wonderful vacation in Cloudcroft .
The cabin is adorable, with tons of charm and plenty of room while still feeling very cozy. The fireplace is great and keeps things very warm, and there are plenty of heaters as well if fire building isn't your thing. The Kitchen is fully functional with all the basics. The cabin is an easy walk to the main attractions in the town and a breeze to find. The owners of the cabin and the next door bed and breakfast are very nice and clearly take a lot of pride in their business. It was peaceful and private with the right amount of access to things to do and as a bonus it is pet friendly so our dogs were just as home as we were. Cloudcroft is a gem of a town with a lot of character. I didn't want to leave, and if people weren't coming in after us, I would have tried to stay another night.
We had a disappointing stay at this cabin. While we appreciated its vintage charm and the location was convenient, there were a few basic things that made us want to leave the first night.
One: no reliable, safe heat source in the living area. The cabin did not have central heat and while the space heaters in each bedroom and the bathroom were sufficient, the main space was not. A gas fireplace that did not vent out (nor have a covering) was the main heat source and it was connected to a thermostat so shut off after 15 minutes. We could not get the pilot light back on. The owner kindly brought us a wrench in case of this and instructed my husband that if we wanted, we could change the gas line to an older wall gas heater (which also didn't vent out). We did this but couldn't get the pilot light to stay lit either and started smelling gas. So we basically made due with no heat in the living room when it was in the low 20's. Thankfully they had plenty of blankets. I will note that there was an electric wall heater on a wall by the front door that was not close enough to the sitting area to warm it.
Two: the kitchen was not fully stocked. There was no cutting board or cooking/serving utensils, so we gave up on cooking the meal we had planned and just boiled pasta and heated up pre-made sauce. There were only 3 forks and thankfully only 3 of us.
There were some other quirky things we could have easily gotten over if the heating and kitchen were functional.
Bottom line: this should not be rented in the winter until a safe and reliable heat source can be installed in the main living area.
The cabin was very cozy and comfortable . I highly recommend the cabinet Cloudcroft.
Loved the cabin: clean, comfortable and close to everything you want to see in Cloudcroft. Easy key exchange and responsive hosts. Would definitely stay again!
