This property is located on Treasure Island next to San Luis Pass. It is just the best subdivision on the coast. It is quiet and a great get-away spot for families. We have some of the best quality Gulf water in the entire region due to offshore waters coming into the Pass with the tides. We also have City of Galveston drinking water. This is the best view anywhere because we have lights on the west end of Galveston Island shining across the waters of the Pass - and in the morning we sip coffee looking at the sunrise out front. Stars and moon can be spectacular over the vast expanse of the Gulf. Pelicans fly along in formation just out front and occasionally porpoises play out front.

This is living on the beach at its best. The house is uniquely designed with flow-through ambiance from room to room. The view of the water from the front decks is unsurpassed anywhere. The kitchen has everything with top of the line appliances and invection cooktop. Travertine and quartzite floors throughout the house. Quality mattresses and furniture.

Great shelling, large numbers of pelicans and other birds always present, best fishing in region, close to Galveston city, but afar enough away from population center to feel like a retreat. Practically a private beach region in the off season. Water is clearer and bluer than that in the City of Galveston due to offshore blue Gulf waters coming into San Luis Pass with the tides. Due to the bridge and sand movement, cars are not able to drive in front of the property, although the sand beaches come and go in front of the house depending on the season. There is always sand beach along the pass toward the bridge and, in the other direction, there is extensive beach that extends all the way to Surf side. Beaches in form will create in the summer and slowly erode away in winter. Horseback ridding is available 15 min. away.

Great Beachfront Home for Getaway

This beautiful home is very well appointed and would sleep 12 people comfortably. With beautiful view and access to the beach, there is nothing left to ask for. And what you may need to ask for, the owners are responsive to you and helpful. We totally enjoyed our stay here and would love to visit again.

The property is well kept and modern.

We enjoyed the house and all had a good time. We didn't realize it was so far away from Surfside and/or Galveston.

The only down side is 10:00 check out time. We have stayed in 15 or 20 houses all up and down the Gulf of Mexico and 12:00 is the standard check out time. The same for the last house we stayed in at Surfside. You might think about changing it to 12:00. Remember, the people staying there have just celebrated Saturday night and do not necessarily feel like moving that fast in Sunday morning.

If the calendar is not booked for the day of a guest's departure, a noon checkout is fine. Typically our guests will ask if a later time is available and most often it is. Great Family Holiday!

What a great house! It was everything we could have asked for and more. Spending a holiday like Thanksgiving in a vacation rental can be a challenge, but this wonderful house had everything we needed for the big family meal.

The bedrooms were great and having three king-size beds was a great luxury and made all of us very comfortable. My wife and I were especially lucky to get the master bedroom upstairs with the private deck overlooking the gulf!

We will be back!

Nothing short of amazing....

This was, by far, my most favorite beach house we have ever stayed at! The house is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, and well appointed. The kitchen is a chef's dream. We all really appreciated that each and every bedroom had it's own private bathroom, and that all the beds were super cozy. We all loved the spacious decks; the view could not be beat!

The beach in front of the house was great for wading and shell hunting. The water was so much clearer than it is in Galveston. I loved that we were able to let the pups off of leash to play in the water as the beach is blocked on each side by a wall of large rocks. The sand bar was sooo very neat. We were able to walk the dogs out and mosey around searching for sand dollars. For us it was just the most perfect beach; I really can't imagine anything better.

Although the walk over has not been fixed yet, there is a trail right next to it to get on the beach and a trail leading from the house to the other side of the beach. Easy peasy to get to. But watch out for mosquitos and stickers!

The owners, Diane and Blake, were great to work with. Everything was simple and seamless.

The only thing that would have made this vacation any better would have been if it were longer. Next time! Until then we will be dreaming of our Treasure Island paradise.

Awesome getaway weekend not too far from home!

After searching high and low for a local place that would accommodate our large family, we settled on this home located near San Luis Pass. This is the first first time renting from this particular website so we were a little concerned because of all the extra fees. The place made up for all of that! The home is beautiful, very well situated near the water. Views are amazing and we had well more than enough room for our family of 9. Everything you need in a home is provided for you. If you stay longer than a couple of days, bring extra paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

I must admit, we were shocked by the list of check out items that we had to take care of before we left. There is a cleaning fee on top of the list of items (strip beds, wash dishes, empty dishwasher, take trash out to the dump). But upon seeing how nice the place is, and all the care it took to keep it that way, we didn't mind! The one thing we wish we could do is come earlier than 4 and leave later than 10! We paid almost $1700 for less than 2 days :( Yes it was labor day weekend, but if we could have had more time on the day we came, it would have made our weekend that much better.

With that being said, we would not hesitate to come back! We gave recommendation to 2 other families that saw our pictures. We really felt like we were miles and miles away from home, instead of an hour!

Owner's Response: So glad you had a great stay and are recommending the house to your friends. Your cost calculation was not quite right. The $1700 you mentioned should not have included the refundable $500 security deposit. The VRBO fee, which we do not receive, was $109. Most of the rest was state tax. So your rental for the holiday weekend, including our only fee (cleaning) and state tax was $1,391. With nine guests, this translates to $155/person for the much valued Labor Day weekend. Early check-in is possible upon request if there is not a group leaving the day of your arrival. Some guests come earlier and spend time walking the beach prior to check in or drop their food in the refrigerator and explore the area. Often, when guests leave, they finish their trip stopping off at Moody Gardens or some other attraction in Galveston on their way out of town. We appreciate you recommending us to your friends and look forward to your return! Diane and Blake

Car: necessary

San Luis Pass is the best fishing spot on the coast. Endless beaches to walk for 15 miles to surfside. Great shelling and birding.
