NOTE: If you plan to come to Colorado Springs to smoke marijuana, please choose a different property. We have found the strong smell stays on clothing and transfers to our furniture and bedding. We want to keep our home completely smoke free for all our guests!

Colorado Springs is a city filled with friendly, creative people and we love helping guests make the most of their time here. We welcome the opportunity to help you plan your stay. About Ryan: As a former corporate marketing and communications executive, I now enjoy a combination of consulting, writing, and woodworking. Whether it’s helping a business grow, making woodcraft, or getting to know our guests and friends, I find there’s always a good story to be told.
Nancy and Ryan Soderstrom purchased this cottage in 2013
We love historical homes and family-oriented neighborhoods. The downtown area of Colorado Springs has both! We love how eclectic and unique each of the homes are, and you're sure to meet friendly folks out on a walk or sitting on their porch. It's a great place to spend time!
The Monument Street cottage has a charm that is undeniable. Across the board, folks who enter the home say, 'Oh wow! This is such a huge and homey place!' We hope that each guest finds the cottage a serene and comfortable place to stay.
I spoke several times with my son while he was staying at the cottage. He told me that it was a super place and was a key to his transition from Brook Army Medical Center and succesful integration back into his home base there at Ft Carson. He was very please with the cottage and its soothing and relaxing enviornment. The cottage provided not only an outstanding property completely outfitted with what he needed but also provided him with a base that was centrally located with great access to everything from which to attend to his many needs during this critical time. I would like to add that Nancy and Ryan were super attentive to our needs during this stay and went out of their way to accommodate Joe on a very short notice and provided some special attention with no hesitation when a need arose. They are great folks to work with and I sincerely believe that they are simply "very good people".
This cottage is the perfect spot for exploring Colorado Springs. The view of Pikes Peak from the neighborhood is amazing! And it's conveniently located for getting to pretty much anything. There's a binder full of information about local restaurants and things to do. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a couple of days.
Perfect "home" for my preteen grandchildren and me to use as a base to see the sights of CS. Great location. Aside from the great CS attractions, we took a walk the last evening and discovered a wonderful park one block away with stream and playground equipment, and even a small deli another block away. This home is exceptionally clean and very well equipped for our 4 days. The owners left us some lovely goodies and pancake mix as a welcome gift, that we appreciated! If we ever return to CS, I would definitely stay there.
I spent 9 nights at the cottage from 12 -21 September. The cottage is packed with all the things that you need to make your holiday a home away from home right down to a selection of herbs and spices if you want to stay in and cook. Located in a residential area meant that the cottage was quiet and peaceful and it is centrally located for all the tourist spots no more than 15 -20 minutes away. A short walk will also take you into town if you want to stay local. Tejon street has a number of fine eateries, coffee shops and unique stores to spend the day perusing.
Some of the tourist spots to hit are Garden of the Gods and the Visitor Centre (all free), Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Pikes Peak Cog Railway (remember and take something warm when you get to the summit as the temperature will be vastly different), Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Seven Falls, Pueblo Riverwalk and if you are looking to do a bit of shopping check out Chapel Hills Mall.
Nancy could not have been more helpful answering questions for me a the point of booking and staying in contact during my stay ensuring all was OK.
Loved my time in Colorado Springs and look forward a return trip.
Clean and very well maintained. This is an older home in a neighborhood that is revitalizing and it gives you the feeling of being a "local." Close to the wonderful downtown, plus all the area attractions. Seven Falls is a must for anyone visiting the area, as is a trip up Pikes Peak. Kitchen well supplied, comfortable furniture. Fenced in yard was great for the dog. Netflex was nice to have. Owners are very responsive and thorough.
My wife and I were only in Colorado Springs for three nights but enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was very clean and well stocked with supplies. Centrally located to the downtown area. There were not many TV channels to choose from, however, there was an active Netflix account that we took advantage of. The cottage was an excellent place to come back to after having been out sightseeing all day.
I vacationed in Colorado Springs with my sister and cousin. We had a great stay in this little cottage, everything was very well maintained and clean. The neighborhood was very quiet and felt safe, which is always important to 3 women traveling on vacation. The owner Nancy was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Colorado Springs.
