About Pat Hoke

My family has been on Seneca Lake since 1930 and this is the first home I have owned. We have a large family and this is the 6th cottage that we own. I chose this cottage because my siblings and I have a very strong connection to the lake and the area (we all live out of state) and it is our favorite place to come and relax. We all became familiar with the water as babies, and it continues to draw us back. Some of my best memories (I'm 30 and single) have been at the lake. I've made quite an effort to modernize and update my cottage recently, so that I and my guests will thoroughly enjoy staying here. I love the location and the yard. It's very bright and peaceful, with expansive views of the lake and surrounding natural setting. I feel very much at home there and I hope you will too.

What makes this cottage unique

I chose this cottage because it reminded me of my grandfather's cottage when I was growing up, and because it was very well maintained. I especially like the way it feels. Cheerful and homey.

Nice place as expected. We enjoyed everything and it was perfect for our visit

  • 5 of 5

It was nice as expected and exactly as described. We mainly slept and showered there as it's more of the off season but it would be great in the summer as well.

Great Location, beautiful view, awesome hot tub!

  • 5 of 5

The location of the house was right on Seneca lake about half way up the west side of the lake. It was super convenient to the wine trail and the house was very nice and clean. The hot tub was great and we even used it in the 18 degree F weather! It was nice to relax after a day tasting wine. The only slight downside was that no one would deliver. Not sure if that's because we were up there in "off-season" or not. Would definitely rent again!

Owner's Response: We certainly are glad you had a very nice stay, and everything met your expectations. Not sure who you tried to get to deliver, but there are a couple places about 6-8 minutes away that do deliver. Next time let us know if you hit a glitch like this, and perhaps we can suggest a good alternative. Thanks for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. Regards, Pat and Brenda

Beautiful setting on Lake Seneca with some areas for improvement

  • 4 of 5

Overall, great cottage right on Lake Seneca. Beds comfortable, kitchen fully equipped, Canle TV and Wifi available. Nice backyard (actually front yard towards the lake) with fire pit and Weber charcoal grill. But why all carpet in the cottage, including the bathroom? Never seen this before. Also, some areas in the garden quite filthy, also the dock needs refurbishment and a ladder to access the lake. Boat looks quite dirty and dysfunctional, a kayak would be nice. Overall, despite these little issues and the hefty price tag, this cottage can be recommended for up to 4 people.

Spectacular Sunrise!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a planned a romantic weekend along with our GSP (German Short-haired Pointer) down off Seneca Lake and had originally planned on a Jacuzzi Suite at Savannah House but we booked our for the weekend. That being said Pat and Brenda offered us an opportunity at the cottage - I gotta say we're so glad we took him up on the offer. The view was spectacular. My wife most of said the word "gorgeous" 50 times in the first hour we arrived with all of the wonderful decorations and styles throughout the cottage. It was just so inviting, peaceful, and classy all at the same time.

I can't say what the best thing about the say was but I know enjoying a cup of coffee with the peaceful quiet sounds coming off the lake and the sun rise over it was awesome.

The description was not only accurate it was probably understated the type of atmosphere we enjoyed. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We did have an issue with the Hot Tub with which Pat arrived within moments of my call to address - we were enjoying it that night - thanks Pat.

I would gladly recommend this to my friends and family not only the cottage but the area was beautiful with lots to see and do. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Top of the Lake in Penn Yan to top it off. And we're already looking towards setting up another trip real soon!
