Wal-Mart and K-Mart – prices are a little better on some staple foods at these discount stores
Farmer’s Market – (also called “Sunshine Markets”) – different locations daily, Monday is in Old Koloa Town
Activity centers in Poipu Village, Koloa Town, Lihue and Kapa’a. At these small booths, you can make reservations for a number of activities, usually at a discount, often 2 for 1
Hula Shows – twice a week at Poipu Village Shopping Center, also at Kuhui Center (Lihue)

Directions from the Airport (15 miles - 30 minutes). As you exit the Lihue Airport you will be on Ahukini Road. Continue through the traffic light for about a mile until you reach the intersection of Kuhio Highway / Highway 56. Here you are forced to turn either right or left. You turn left onto Highway 56 West which will automatically merge itself into Kaumualii Highway / Highway 50 West. Continue on Kaumualii Highway / Highway 50 West as it leaves Lihue toward the Poipu area. Aproximately 12 miles down the road you will see a sign indicating to turn left to Koloa or Poipu. When you turn left you will be on Maluhia Road / Highway 520 which is also known as The Tunnel of Trees, which leads to Koloa Town and the Poipu area. As you enter Old Koloa Town you turn right onto Koloa Road. Less then a block later at the service station, you turn left on to Poipu Road. You follow Poipu Road about 2.5 miles until you turn right toward Poipu Beach on to Hoowili Road. This road ends at Poipu Beach where you turn left onto Ho'one Road. As you drive along the beach, the road becomes Pe'e Road. About a half mile further along you will come to Poipu Shores located on the makai or ocean side of the road. the street address is 1775 Pe'e Road.

The views, the privacy, just by looking at the turtles and the whales right in front of me, I can almost touch them, how can I resist buying the condo with such views?
I guarantee you that you will not want to leave the lanai, you will want to be siting on the lanai 24/7, it is that beautiful.
We all pay top dollar to go to eat in a restaurant with ocean views, there is no restaurant out there that can ever come close to the views that this condo have, yet it is completely private to fully enjoy and relax, no need to eat and leave because somebody else is waiting for your table, you can eat, drink and sit as long as you want without any interruption!
Our family stayed here and it was amazing. We had views to die for, the sound of the ocean to lull us to sleep, a gorgeous pool to swim in, a swimmable beach (Poipu) within walking distance, and a full kitchen to use. We stayed here for five nights and it was truly magical and will forever bring back amazing memories. Additionally, the owner was very helpful with island information. The check in and check out was easy. I hope to return here again sometime. Mahalo!
I just visited the island of Kauai for the first time in my life. I joined my brother and sister-in-law (an artist) on the last part of their 10 day vacation. All I wanted when I arrived was a place where I could see the ocean and have my own private room. When we opened the door to the condo we were amazed - everything we read on the VRBO description was absolutely true and even better in person. Perfect spot for anyone needing two private sleeping areas. The lanai is large with a lounge chair in front of each bedroom sliding glass door and shaded all day long. My sister was able to set up her easel and paint two paintings of the beautiful view. We watched the sea turtles right from our unit which was wonderful (I would love to come back during whale season). Tarek was a very responsive owner from my first email contact regarding renting the condo, until the last good bye when we thanked him for the lovely time. The tag line on the VRBO listing is 100% correct – you couldn’t get any closer to the ocean unless you were in it! And if you love listening to the sound of crashing waves – this is your place. All three of us were so happy that we found this spot and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Tarek, I feel like I made a friend – Mahalo and I hope to return soon one day!
This was our 5th trip to this Island and every time we return to this perfect place! We have stayed with 2 other people before and never felt crowded. This trip was just the two of us and it can't get any better. We love the location and never tire of watching the turtles. We got an extra special surprise seeing the Whales breaching in front of the condo as well as the spinner dolphins. Sleeping is never an issue this close to the ocean, we love to hear the waves crashing. The location is perfect for morning walks along the ocean front. We have explored many other locations and always find ourselves deciding this is the place to be. The pool is never crowded so you can relax and take in the scenery for hours. The condo has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and the owner Tarek will always take care of anything you might need during your stay. We have our next stay planned already! Can't wait to go back!
This is a great place to stay, and will be our first choice whenever we go back to Kauai. The highlight is sitting on the deck. I don't think you can get much closer to the water anywhere on the island. The sunrise views are great; and coming from the mainland US you almost always wake up in time to see it. The deck is really big, and stretches in front of the kitchen/living room and both bedrooms (we actually chose to sleep in the second bedroom to block the morning sun, but always woke up before sunrise anyway). The sea turtles are a blast to watch, they swim around an incredibly violent little rocky inlet (eating seaweed off the rocks from what I read), and just duck under the waves when they break. The surf is loud (not just some murmur in the distance), and literally right below you. It's fun to lay in bed and listen to it, but it didn't keep us awake. It's hard to say something that isn't in all the other reviews, but perhaps this might be of use to some. We found a natural foods market about a mile away; "Living Foods Market" in "The Shops at Kukui’ula", just off the traffic circle. It has a great deli bar / take out section and we had a number of dinners on the deck with take out from it (they serve a nice coffee and breakfast too). They are real helpful, and prepared a hot dinner for us to take home. We ate breakfast on the deck most every day as well, but for breakfast we got most of what we needed at the Big Save in Koloa.
This was a perfect condo for our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) over spring break. The condo itself has 2 bedrooms, a living room area, small kitchen equipped with the essentials, and a nice bathroom. The patio/lanai was the highlight. . .wow! 3 different sliding glass doors that lead to an amazing view. We sat for hours and watched the turtles, and dolphins, and waves crashing up onto the shore. The condo is within walking distance to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach, which we visited several times. The pool is nice and clean and overlooks the rocks. Tarek, the owner, was very accomodating with a late check out and accessible with questions when needed. We would most definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai.
We thoroughly enjoyed the crashing surf, the views and the opprotunity to dine on the lanai while counting whales. Who could ask for more? The condo was perfect for the two of us to come to after a day of hiking. There are two fine TVs, but we seldom even turned them with the beauty and crashng of the Pacific right outside. We would stay again and would recommend this to those of you who desire the connection to the water and the sealife while sipping on a wine in the afternoon watching for the green flash/sunset or in the morning watching the sunrise. Hiking is wonderful and be sure to go to the Brick Oven. Aloha!
