I have a 2 bedroom-1 bath cabin with a single slip covered dock that is located on Lake Lanier in Forsyth County. The cabin is located approximately 15-20 minutes from Gainesville, Cumming, and the North Georgia Outlet Mall near Dawsonville. The North Georgia Mountains and I-285 are 45-60 minutes from the cabin too.
To book, the person doing the reservation must be 25 years old with proper ID.
The cabin has two bedrooms and one bath. The master bedroom has a fireplace. The living room-dining area has a wood burning stove, The cabin does have central air and heat. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, etc. The cabin has a washer and dryer. There is also a large screened porch with a deck. The bathroom is fully furnished with towels. The décor is truly cabin like(Adirondack chair, cedar table, benches, etc.) Some of the décor I have made myself.
There is not a view of the lake from the cabin. There is a good path to the single slip covered dock. The Vanns Tavern public boat ramp is close to the dock.
The greatest appeal of the cabin is its seclusion yet close enough to restaurants, attractions, and shopping. You will be totally relaxed sitting on the swing on the large screened porch looking at undisturbed nature.
The cabin was great, I wish we had more time to spend there. It was very peaceful. It had everything we needed.
We enjoyed our stay over Memorial Day weekend. The cabin is nicely decorated, clean and stocked. The only
thing I was a little surprised with was how far of a walk the dock was, but we drove and parked halfway when we had things to bring to the boat so it wasn't too bad. Doug was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. It is obvious he takes great pride in his cabin as he should. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!
Awesome ! From the décor to the outside . Close to all you could want . Fishing was good . Enjoyed the woods and everything in the area . !!
This cabin was perfect for what we needed it for: a place, not too far from Atlanta, where my husband and I could hide away for two nights and a day to reconnect and celebrate our anniversary before jumping into a busy, friend-filled weekend in Athens.
I loved the rustic feel of the place. It was cozy, but not cramped and had all the comforts of home. We stopped by the Redbox at the Kroger right off the exit and rented two movies and we brought all our supplies in with us, so we did not leave the property from the time we arrived Thursday evening until our departure Saturday morning. We enjoyed cooking our own breakfast in the well-appointed kitchen, grilling hamburgers for dinner, and making S'mores and sitting for a long, long time around the fire pit.
The best thing about the property was the secluded feel. Though you go through a crowded subdivision to reach the property, the driveway to the property itself is long and there are places in the woods where you can walk and turn around and not see anything man-made. With that said, however, you can hear a lot of traffic noise. At times, you become immune to it and it disappears into the back ground, but especially around rush-hour times it's pretty loud with sirens and horns - the works. Another thing I liked about the property was the fact that the owners keep it stocked with little extras like condiments, spices, charcoal, wood and even cottonballs in the bathroom - things you DEFINITELY won't find in state park cabins.
Even though the cabin is advertised as sleeping six, I really wouldn't recommend it for a crowd, unless you plan to put your boat in at the nearby park's ramp and spend the day on the lake. The cabin's lake access is a narrow cove and the lake was pretty low. The dock was just about on the ground.
All-in-all, this was a great cabin for a brief, secluded retreat with my husband. I would definitely stay again.
Due to hectic lifestyle we neglected to make accommodations in northern Georgia (Gainesville) area to meet/visit family. Late one night we hurried and jumped online and came to first property we found in the area. We emailed, by morning we had a response, by afternoon we had a place! WOW! we picked this place for the address when we arrived who would of known this was a extremely excluded cabin in the suburbs. convenient to everything we wanted. we visited Suches, lake Winfield Scott, Cabbage patch land in Cleveland. Sorry to say, we didn't eat out cause we cooked on the grill and roasted hot dogs/marshmallows in the fire pit. everything was in this cabin, we honestly did not have to leave. This Property was perfect the description on the listing really does not give it justice! we had a wonderful time visiting family especially on the beautiful, spacious front porch. We will be sending a Pennsylvania license plate to add to his collection!
