Pirates Cove is a gated resort community on Roanoke Sound nestled along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and is one of North Carolina's premier destinations for boating and fishing. Walk or ride your bikes from our condominium to the marina and all it has to offer -- offshore and inshore fishing charters, head boat charters, shopping at the Ship's Store, cold drinks at the dockside Tiki Hut, or lunch/dinner at the Harbor Point Grill and Bar. Make the short drive to the historic Village of Manteo and stroll along the boardwalk or visit the quaint shops and the restored Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse.
Pirates Cove is a wonderful destination for families and active adults. On the way to the Marina, have the family stop by and spend some time at the playground or stop for a swim at the community pool and clubhouse. There are also tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, a fossil pit, and an outdoor pavilion complete with picnic area and charcoal grills.
North Carolina’s Outer Banks offer so much to do all year long – let the kids participate in the Lil' Pirates Club, or vie for the prize in one of the summer fishing tournaments at Pirates Cove; charter an inshore fishing trip and stalk the marshes for tailing red fish; book a crabbing/shrimping charter for your whole group; charter one of NC’s finest offshore fishing boats and troll the gulf stream for bill fish, dolphin (dorado), tuna, and Wahoo; visit the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, just a few miles down the road; head right over the bridge and quickly hit the beaches for sunbathing, paddle boarding, surfing, body boarding, body surfing, kite boarding, surf fishing, and lots of relaxing; visit the giant sand dune at Jockey’s Ridge State Park; head south to the Bodie Island Lighthouse, and then on to Cape Hatteras and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore; learn all about the history of the area at the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site; visit the beautiful Elizabethan Gardens and step back in time; or just stroll the docks around Pirates Cove and get lost for an hour or two. There’s just so much to do. We love sharing all the fun things there are to do in Pirates Cove and on the Outer Banks. Feel free to give us a call and we’ll give you all the details.
Our family loves spending time at the coast -- on the beach, on the water, on the docks, in the sand -- and we love Pirates Cove.
Jon Jester purchased this condo in 2005
Pirates Cove had everything that our active and busy family was looking for.
We love being close to the water, and in Pirates Cove, you are always waterfront. We love the open floor plan and airy-feel inside our condominium. We love being close to the beach and all it has to offer, but also being able to escape to the quiet and peaceful setting inside Pirates Cove or along the quaint waterfront in the Village of Manteo.
We had a great time at Pirate's Cove in Manteo. This was our 3rd trip to Manteo but our first stay at Jon and Myra's condo. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our family of 5. The washer and dryer is essential when traveling with children and much appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped for meal preparation and was organized so everything was easily located. We highly recommend Pirate's Cove and this lovely condo if you are looking for an easy, low key, family friendly vacation destination.
We had a wonderful family vacation at this condo!! The layout/open concept living room, dining room, kitchen was great for everyone being together. The location was perfect for exploring the outer banks for the first time. We cooked in the kitchen a lot and it was well stocked with cooking supplies. The balcony overlooking the canal was also nice. The bed downstairs where I slept was very comfy! My 8 year old nephew loved the bunk beds bedroom! My mom was very comfortable in the upstairs queen bed with the bigger bathroom. The owners were very helpful and reached out when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended for families or 2 couples would be comfortable here!
We loved our week in the Outer Banks. The condo was very cozy, close to everything, and offered great amenities in the complex. We were slightly annoyed that the dryer did not work, it would not heat up and dry clothes, so that was somewhat of a nuisance - but we managed.
This was a very nice, comfortable and quiet place to stay with another couple for the weekend. Enjoyed the pool and clubhouse dinner. Would stay again . We were here to compete in the triathlons.
The condo was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. It was in the perfect location, close to the beach and the amenities were perfect with kids - pool, tennis courts, playground, activities at club house. The owner leaves detailed information for you and is very responsive to any inquiry. He even checked to see how our stay was and if we needed anything. This was a perfect condo for our family of 4. We would definitely rent again if we head back to OBX!
