Maria met us at the Vaporetto stop and took us to the apartment. She could not have been more welcoming. She made excellent recommendations and gave us directions. The location of the apartment was outstanding and there were many shops, restaurants and a grocery store near. There were definitely some things that made this less than a 5 Star apartment. First of all, it was not clean. There were many dust bunnies, sticky appliances, dead mosquitoes on the walls and curtain of the small bedroom. Secondly, there was really no livingroom, it is a hall with a sofa. The antique beds which attracted us to the apartment, made a lot of noise on any movement. This was not good as one of the group was a light sleeper. The wifi was very weak, unreliable and you have to sit by the window most of the time. I only mention this in case you need a good connection, if you are just vacationing maybe it won’t be a problem. Finally, we had to buy coffee, sugar and toilet paper, something that we did not have to do at other rentals.
This apartment was very well located close to great food and shops, then again there are shops everywhere!!! Just a 7 min walk to San Marco Square.
The beds were very comfortable, but in order for the 4 of us to chat we had to sit around the kitchen table, because the sofa was in the hallway.
The internet did not work, the modem would not even turn on. Maria gave us a small refund when giving us back our damage deposit... the gesture was appreciated.
I would definitely stay her again, it was very clean and the location is 5 stars! Maybe it was not the most spacious but who wants to stay sitting in an apartment when in VENICE!!!
Must also take into consideration that there are many shops and restaurants around, so if you want to sleep in late you will need ear plugs or close the windows...this was a minor detail for us! We were there in late September and the apartment was warm in the evening, never noticed AC but there were ceiling fans and other fans to accommodate us which was fine!
Maria was good to deal with and we had a very good stay!
Located next door to San Marco square, convenient to all transportation sites. Apartment is decent, just our bad luck that we traveled to Venice during the heat wave. The sir conditioner in a portable one, so only one room can be air conditioned at a time. There are fans in the kitchen/ dining and second bedroom though. Overall, fairly reasonable, but somewhat pricey. Had a good stay overall. Lots of restaurants, groceries nearby. If you stay in the location, make sure to visit the trattoria on the street behind (Salizzada dei Greci) near the pharmacy - was called Trattoria di Johhny when we were there, I believe - the food is excellent and well priced, compared to some of the tourist prices around.
This apartment has great potential. The location is convenient to the vaporetto, especially if you want to visit the islands. The beds are comfortable and the wifi works well. There are a couple items missing to make this a 5 star apartment: a toaster, a coffee maker, instructions for the stove, and toilet paper. Potential renters should note that the second bedroom is an alcove with a single bed, a curtain to separate it from the hallway, and very limited closet space. It would work fine for a child but is not quite adequate for an adult.
The apartment was perfect for our family of 5, including 3 teens. The AC in the bedroom worked out nicely since we stayed in July. The washer was a nice addition considering we stayed there a week. The location was great. I will definitely recommend to others!!
There is practically no difference from the pictures, even better!
Place is quiet, clean, comfortable, roomy and check-in/out time are flexible.
the house is not hard to find, but Maria came to meet us at the vaporetto Stop.
Thanks for welcoming us and we hope to see you Maria, and Venice again!
