We invite you to enjoy our beautiful, spacious, year-round home, White Oaks, on the North Shore of Green Lake. A popular vacation destination, the town of Green Lake is within easy walking distance from our house, but far enough away for you to enjoy the privacy our property affords. Green Lake is Wisconsin's deepest inland lake and provides ample opportunities for great fishing and water sports. Bustling in the summer, Green Lake is a serene and picturesque get-away spot for fall, winter and spring as well.
We have a private pier. Should you bring or rent a boat, we have a shore station (boat lift) to keep your boat (max. 4,000 lbs.) safely out of the water when not in use. The large, gently sloping front lawn is perfect for a variety of yard games...croquet and bean bags are our personal favorites.
Built in the early 1900's, the house, named 'White Oaks,' was significantly damaged by a fire in 1995 and was rebuilt in 1998. The house now features vintage charm with a number of features from the old house combined with modern conveniences.
The highlight of the house is the original wrap-around screened-in porch. The porch itself is huge (over 800 square feet) and is a perfect spot to relax on one of the gliders or rocking chairs and enjoy the lake breeze anytime of day, or for an al fresco dinner on the large dining table.
Inside, four bedrooms are on the main floor and each feature either a bathroom or sink for increased privacy. In the basement, a six-person bunk room is a perfect retreat for the kids. There is some additional sleeping space on pull-out couches. The captions for the pictures of each bedroom describe the bed configurations.
The basement features a large recreation room with ping-pong, darts, foosball and other games. A flat screen TV has a DVD/VCR for watching movies at night. We also offer cable and wireless internet access.
On the main floor, a large eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cookware and flatware, as well as common appliances such as coffee makers. The kitchen opens to a large dining room with a piano and loft overhead.
If you are a golfer, there are several excellent golf courses nearby including Tuscumbia and Lawsonia. Other activities nearby include bowling, miniature golf, and a movie theater (located in downtown Ripon), just in case you have a day where the weather isn't cooperating.
Whether you are looking for a golf vacation, a week of swimming and boating, or time to relax with family or friends, we welcome you to our home. We wish we were there now!

About Allen Phillip and Jennifer Hutchison
The Phillip family has owned White Oaks since the late 1940's. Now in the second generation of ownership, we use the house as a family retreat from our busy lives in Chicago and make it available for rental when we can't be there.
Allen Phillip and Jennifer Hutchison purchased this House in 1947
Why Allen Phillip and Jennifer Hutchison chose Green Lake
The house was built in the early 1900's by a family who currently owns the house next door to ours. Our family bought it from the original owner in the late 1940's and has owned it ever since. The house was largely damaged by a fire in 1995, and was rebuilt a few years later. We enjoy the town of Green Lake and all the activities that the lake provides. Green Lake is just far enough from Chicago to be a real vacation, but close enough for a quick weekend get-away.
What makes this House unique
At the lake, we love to spend time on the water--swimming, boating, water skiing and tubing. As kids, we enjoyed many days of fishing with Dad/Grandpa. Those who enjoy golfing frequent Lawsonia and Tuscumbia golf courses--Tuscumbia was actually designed by our relative Tom Bendelow who designed over 600 golf courses in North America, including Medinah Country Club in suburban Chicago. In the warmer months, we enjoy reading on the porch--listening to the sounds of the lake and the singing of the birds. In the cooler months, we enjoy evenings by the gas fireplace in the living room--playing cards, board games or charades.

We rented this house to celebrate or 50th Wedding Anniversary! We are a family of 11 and we all just loved it!
With 4 spacious bedrooms,a 3 bunk bedroom,3 1/2 baths,we all had room to enjoy.
There are ceiling fans in every room and cool lake breezes at night. The kitchen, dining, and living areas are spacious and beautiful in decor. But the screened in porch is to die for!!! Tons of glider sofas, wicker rockers, chairs, and relaxy chairs and it is just charming. We will never forget our beautiful candlelight Anniversary dinner on the porch...all decorated and prepared by our children and grandchildren! It was perfect!
We also loved the water, dock and yard. We had lots of fun in the water pontooning and floating, and we had great campfires at night.
We loved this house! We have booked it for our 51st Anniversary!!!!
Judy and Don,
Happy Anniversary! We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at White Oaks. We very much look forward to having you as our guests again next year!

What an amazing week my family and I spent on the lake. We spent most of our time in the water or on the wonderful wrap around porch. It is huge! I can't express enough how lovely it was to all be able to enjoy the cooler evenings on the porch with the entire family. The house was impeccably clean, the grounds are very well kept. The kitchen is fully stocked, better and any other place we have stayed. Plenty of space to spread out and read or play games. We had ping pong and foosball tournaments which the kids and adults enjoyed on the one rainy day and several evenings. And the best thing was while there are 2 TV's they were never turned on the entire week. The memories made will last a life time. We plan to come back for sure! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Phillip!
