|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
This adorable, freshly re-decorated cottage, located on beautiful Lake Charlevoix's desirable South Arm has been recently renovated to take advantage of every inch of it's 630 sf without sacrificing it's charming cottage appeal. Don't let the small size fool you, though, this cozy cottage is well laid-out and offers all the comforts and amenities of home: bath towels and linens for all the beds (BR1 - Full; BR2 - Full / twin bunk; LR - Queen sleeper sofa); a fully stocked kitchen; washer and dryer; a stereo with auxiliary; a flat screen TV with cable and DVD; an air conditioner for those extra hot days; and a finished three-seasons room with a panoramic lake view and lots of extra seating.
From the three-seasons room, step out onto the quaint sitting deck, outfitted with a large gas grill and comfy outdoor recliners, ideal for morning coffee. Just a few steps from the deck, the yard boasts an impressive brick paver patio next to the lake, complete with space for eating and seating, as well as a large bricked-in fire pit perfect for nights filled with s'mores and sparklers, or a quiet glass of wine.
DO YOU HAVE A BOAT? We have a space for that too! A short walk down the dock you'll find a covered, ShoreLand'r 3500 lb. lift available to you at no charge.
Don't have a boat? Rent one! We're located just four doors South of the Swan Valley Marina, where you can rent a variety of watercraft including pontoon boats, fishing boats, speed boats and PWC's (subject to availability, of course).
I live and work in Petoskey, Michigan, another of the State's beautiful resort towns, located just a short drive North, right on the shores of Lake Michigan. I feel lucky to be able to live AND play in two different lakefront communities and I absolutely love all that both areas have to offer.
Lisa LaFond purchased this cottage in 2001
Back in 2001 I was casually looking for a summer cottage, just here and there, nothing serious. One Saturday, I attended an open house for a different cottage just down the road, and the Realtor was just closing up. She showed me the open house and then mentioned that there was another cottage just up the road that she'd be happy to show me. I walked in and the rest was history. Before I took three steps in the door, I knew I wanted it.
This property is the best of both worlds! It is super comfortable, tastefully updated, and stocked with everything you need, yet it retains it's old cottage charm with original knotty pine interior and ecclectic cottage-y decorating. This property isn't just an investment to us. We use it, and we LOVE it, and I think you'll find that it shows!
Small but very nicely laid out. Loved the sun porch over looking the lake, it was great way to start the day. Would definitely rent this one again.
We really had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay here. The cottage met all our needs and the location on the lake was perfect. The marina is just a few houses away making it very convenient to launch the boat. We definitely enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning in the future.
We were looking for a last minute weekend get-a-way for the 4th of July and found the perfect spot with this little gem on Lake Charlevoix. The owner Lisa was very accommodating and great to work with. Although the house is very tiny, it was fine for our family of 6. They have made very good use of the space that is there. It is very clean and updated as the pictures portray. Everything you need is provided except beach towels. The water is crystal clear and the lake was never too busy to have water fun. We tubed all weekend and even though it was the holiday, we never felt crowded or unsafe due to traffic on the lake. The only drawback for us was that we couldn't use the pull out sofa. The mattress was pretty thin and would not work for my boys. It would have been fine for smaller children. We just used our air mattress and it was fine. The location is perfect. Just a short drive to Charlevoix which is such a cute little beach town. And the small town of East Jordan was just up the road and has restaurants, gas and shopping for anything you might need. I would recommend this rental and would stay here again if we return to Lake Charlevoix.
Thank you Lisa for a great weekend!!
We really enjoyed the lake front with hard, sandy bottom and the fire pit so close to the lake. Noone emerged from the lake muddy (including the dog) needing to rinse off. Having the use of a boat lift was an added plus. While only 630 sqft, the living area is layed out well. It was great to sit in the three season room, on the deck or paved picnic area and watch the lake activity. While there may not be every cooking item you are used to at home, the kitchen was well stocked and cooking was not an issue; the grill worked great too. It was a definite plus to have a washer & dryer but would advise anyone not to be in a hurry when doing wash; it took 30 minutes for the water level to fill to medium water level, other than that, it worked great. If anyone in your party is a light sleeper they should be aware that M-66 is only about 20 feet from the bedroom windows. Not a problem during the day but traffic does run 24 hours.
House was very nice. Water hot ,rooms clean, plenty of toilet paper lol. Just have to look under the vanity. Lisa (the owner) worked very hard for us and went above and beyond to make our experience great. The coffee maker is a little tricky but I figured it out. Boat lift was great our ranger boat fit well in it. Only drawback is the blind curve and traffic by the house nothing they can do about that. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
I spent eight weeks in this tiny little piece of heaven sitting on the edge of the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix. It is small, but it's truly a "cottage," perfect for a couple or small family. The all seasons porch, with windows on three sides, brings great views all day long, especially beautiful, foggy morning sunrises. Fires in the fire pit are a neighborhood tradition and the patio is a lovely place for sunset. The owners have made the living space very comfortable, the kitchen is well supplied and the gas grill was perfect for all the whitefish I bought in Charlevoix. Easy access to Petosky, Charlevoix and Up North. Less than perfect is M-66 very close by, but all the cottages there suffer from that. It's a good value. The owner was very nice to deal with. I hope they add Internet access. I want to go back.
