About Lisa LaFond
I live and work in Petoskey, Michigan, another of the State's beautiful resort towns, located just a short drive North, right on the shores of Lake Michigan. I feel lucky to be able to live AND play in two different lakefront communities and I absolutely love all that both areas have to offer.
Lisa LaFond purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Lisa LaFond chose East Jordan
Back in 2001 I was casually looking for a summer cottage, just here and there, nothing serious. One Saturday, I attended an open house for a different cottage just down the road, and the Realtor was just closing up. She showed me the open house and then mentioned that there was another cottage just up the road that she'd be happy to show me. I walked in and the rest was history. Before I took three steps in the door, I knew I wanted it.
What makes this Cottage unique
This property is the best of both worlds! It is super comfortable, tastefully updated, and stocked with everything you need, yet it retains it's old cottage charm with original knotty pine interior and ecclectic cottage-y decorating. This property isn't just an investment to us. We use it, and we LOVE it, and I think you'll find that it shows!

Perfect location! Nice and clean!
We came during winter, but the lakefront and 3 season room look amazing! Would definitely come during the summer to enjoy!
Pleasant setting. But you better have good weather as the house is really a very little simple cottage that needs some upkeep attention and the adjacent M66 is very dangerous with high traffic volume. High density group of condos nearby and s lot of boats Cable TV is nearly useless without a guide as 90% of channels are cable trash. Internet is okay when it works but bandwidth is very narrow as is typical in remote locations Not easy to take a walk as there is no beach and walking on M66 is very dangerous and not pleasant But if you have a boat it could be a fun location. Don't plan on any big meals the kitchen is very small but the only restaurant in East Jorden has great breakfasts and the Landing is a really pleasant place for lunch or light dinner
Perfect location, with great Lake View
We stayed the last week of July. Great location near downtown East Jordan, Lake Charlevoix and even went to Downtown Boyne. Sunroom is very cozy and the backyard is perfect. It met all of our needs and a great value. Will book it again next year if available, thanks!
Disappointed in condition of property. Holes in screens so you could not open windows. Broken window blinds in cabin. Dock in need of repairs. Flower pots had weeds and no flowers. No steps on dock for water access due to large stones on water front. Brick patio all broken stones.
Cute cottage perfect for our family!
The overall experience of this little gem was awesome! The cottage is stocked with everything necessary! The bedding and towels were brand new and lovely. It was very clean upon arrival. We had 8 people total and although the place seems small online, it fit everyone perfect! The sunroom is amazing and roomy. Although the stay was near perfect we did have a few minor issues...most windows were missing screens or screens were ripped. We were unable to open any windows inside other than the sunroom. It wasn't too hot outside but with that many people we would have loved the fresh air! Also, the shrubbery in front is very overgrown making it hard to find the cottage based on pictures. Lastly, there was no way for the kids to get back out of the water once they jumped in from the dock. A little access ladder would be nice! Truthfully, these things were minor in comparison to the amazing time we had. Great area, great cottage! We will be back!
Great place with everything you need for an amazing vacation.
The place was extremely pleasant for 5 guys on a fishing trip. Sounds small but plenty of room. Great fire pit on the lakeside. Parking was a little tight but we had two trucks with trailers, but was able to working a deal with the marina a few houses down. Would definitely stay again.
