- Our super-friendly dogs, Jake and Sophie, WILL be in the backyard and around the pool during your stay. If you do not like dogs, please find an alternate property.

PROPERTY AND POOL AREA HIGHLIGHTS

Nearly 3, fully fenced acres with incredible, panoramic views! Take a leisurely swim in the tastefully tiled, in-ground pool or slip into the adjoining hot tub to unwind. There are plenty of lounging chairs with comfortable cushions to soak up the Texas rays or if you prefer the shade, relax in the hammock or sit under the large table umbrella. THIS PRIVATE POOL IS SHARED ONLY WITH HOMEOWNERS AND THEIR OCCASIONAL GUESTS. At most all times, you will have this area to yourself. It provides an amazing atmosphere for an outdoor meal or leisurely swim with the most incredible sunsets you have ever seen!

KITCHEN/DINING AREA HIGHLIGHTS

The well appointed kitchen (should you want to cook) features a self-cleaning oven with smooth top range and built in microwave, a large double sink and plenty of counter space with bar area and stools opening into the living area, a large refrigerator equipped with ice maker, and ultra-quiet dishwasher. The kitchen also features a coffee maker (with Starbucks coffee, creamer, sweeteners), toaster, small ice chest for the pool, spices, cooking oils and a large pantry stocked with corn if you would like to feed the many deer in the area. The dining area is open to the living area and kitchen, has gorgeous custom tiling with a matching tiled table and four cushioned chairs.

LIVING ROOM HIGHLIGHTS

Surrounded by windows and gorgeous stone gas burning fireplace, the living room offers a large sofa and love seat which provide plenty of seating to watch your favorite cable TV show or a DVD on the 42“ LCD flat panel HDTV. Play one of the many board games on the large coffee table - priceless family entertainment!

MASTER BEDROOM

The master bedroom features a brand new, pillow-top queen size bed with a matched dresser, side table and lamp. This bedroom also features a 40' LCD flat panel HDTV with cable TV and a DVD player that sits within a large armoire with closing doors, and drawers filled with over 100 DVDs for your viewing pleasure. All beds (master and guest) are outfitted with the finest linens and fabrics. Enjoy a relaxing movie or your favorite cable TV shows in the luxury of your bed, or step down and out to the back patio to witness an amazing Texas sunset.

BATHROOM HIGHLIGHTS

The bath features a full-size tub and shower (glass enclosed), with beautiful tile work throughout. These features along with two vanity areas, luxury towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and blow dryer provide you with all the essentials you need after a day visiting Austin sites, touring the local wineries or an afternoon lounging by the pool.

GUEST BEDROOM/STUDY HIGHLIGHTS

The guest bedroom features a trundle bed that converts to two twin beds, with a side table & lamp and matching dresser. This bedroom overlooks the back porch and yard, with a large mirrored closet and ceiling fan. The study area sits just outside the bedroom and features a desk with a lamp, printer and copy paper for your use. The guest house has wi-fi throughout for your convenience.

About Cameron & Tommy

We currently live in Austin, Texas on the same property as the Guest House. However, we spend lots of time at our second home in Breckenridge, Colorado and although we both work full-time, are avid travelers and love everything outdoors - including cycling, hiking, gardening, and scuba diving. Our last major trip was to the Galapagos Islands where we spent a week on an Aggressor ship diving with hammerhead sharks. It was an amazing experience!

Over the years, we have been all over the world, and ALWAYS stay in vacation rental properties. We have taken everything we have learned from these stays, good and bad, to offer a place to guests that we believe far surpasses the usual vacation rental property. We want all of our guests to have a truly memorable experience and come back and stay with us.

Why Cameron & Tommy chose Austin

The Guest House was an add-on to our "ranch style" home which we've lived in since 2000. It was originally built as a separate place for friends and family to visit so we went all out to make it a very special place. We love the location of our property as it's close to everything - the hill country, downtown Austin, Lake Travis - but it is extremely private and feels "away from it all." It's a great area for walking, cycling, or just hanging out by the pool on a warm day. Having acreage has allowed us to plant organic raised gardens, where we grow all kinds of veggies, fruit and olive trees, and even grapes. We hope you'll find the property as special as we do!

Well Worth It

This is the first time that we have attempted to stay at a house versus a hotel while in Texas. We were not sure what we would be up against with our stay so we tried to keep an open mind.

Honestly, I am not sure that I have enough room to write how much we enjoyed this location. I would characterize it as a mother-in-law set up that is attached to the main house. That being said we felt that we were miles away from the main house.

The location is just off 290 west of I35 going toward Fredericksburg in the proximity of the Oak Hill area. Dripping Springs is about 15 miles west. Downtown Austin was about the same distance going east.

The place is a two bedroom, one bath set up. Open set up with with the living room, eating area and a full size kitchen in one section and the bedrooms including a walk up stairs to the master bed. In the back is the house pool with hot tub and a view looking west that is unbelievable, especially at sunset. We took advantage of swimming and sitting next to the pool every night.

The house was about 1/8th mile off 290 but felt like we were miles away from the road and noise. Unbelievably quiet.

Tommy and Cameron were gracious host and we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a plate of fruit and tour of the grounds. We were able to pick fruit and vegetables from their gardens that we used with some of the meals we ate at the place. Small grill on the deck outside allowed us to do some outside cooking while we were visiting.

The house location allowed us easy access to go both west and east as we visited the area. We have already determined that we will go back to the Hill Country next year and will be reaching out to Tommy and Cameron again to stay at their place and be able to enjoy the quiet and Texas sunsets.

Excellent rental experience

Everything was perfect! While the location is only about 25 min from central Austin, you feel like you are in the country. Every morning we were greeted with a group of deer standing in the front yard. The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately rainy weather prevented us from taking advantage of the beautiful backyard and pool but hopefully we can return and enjoy them in the future. Cameron and Tommy were very accommodating and answered all of our questions.

Fabulous Accommodations!!!

The guest house was even better than we had hoped. The property was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the freedom to use the pool and hot tub throughout the day and evening. We enjoyed visiting with Tommy and Cameron in the yard. Seeing the dogs and deer each day were also highlights of the trip. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Uniquely wonderful property for a little family getaway!

This guesthouse was a great location for our family of four (and one four-legged member) to get away for a little vacation. The pool was pristine and had wonderful views (especially the sunset!). The location is remote enough to feel like you're getting away from it all (and the organic gardens on the property are really cool to check out!) but close enough for anything you may need. We highly recommend Jack Allen's or District Kitchen (less than 10 minutes away) for an awesome dinner, and then come back and relax by the pool to watch the sunset. There's also a grill for you to use if you'd prefer! The owners have thought of most everything you'd need, and are very warm, friendly, and welcoming, as are their dogs. Our boys enjoyed having two extra doggy friends for our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here!

Wonderful Stay!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cameron and Tommy's guest house. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and the layout was perfect for us. The house is conveniently close to 290, but the backyard overlooking the hill country feels very secluded. My kids loved the pool and had a ball playing with the dogs. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to visit again soon!
