About Dora Bettencourt

We both retired in 2011 and moved from Mass to Maine. We love lake living and want the rural peaceful life. It was time to slow down and let the younger set do it now. Now we can do our homemade crafts and woodworking. The grandchildren come up when available and is always fun to see them.

Dora Bettencourt purchased this mobile home in 2010

Why Dora Bettencourt chose Lincoln

My husband found this nice level lot in 2003 and we traveled almost every weekend to enjoy the Maine life. We liked it so much we built a home and not regretted it for one minute. Many nice people here all related on this side of the lake and always get together. The winters are a little cold but I don't like the heat so this is perfect.

What makes this mobile home unique

You get to listen to the different birds all day and night. Had to buy a bird book to see what bird it is. The falcons, hawks, eagles, ospreys, Canada geese, ducks are such a joy to watch. Don't forget the deer, moose. It is just so nice to take a walk and enjoy life as it really is. You can even see the fish jump, and the snapping turtles swimming.

Beautiful

The property is lovely...very quiet and serene with a beautiful view of the lake. The owners are very welcoming without being in your business. They offer the boat, kayaks, towels, boat house, etc. to the renters. We will go back again!

Not what I was looking for.

  • 1 of 5

Dora was EXTREMELY nice. The camper however was very hot. The AC is much to small to cool it down. When I pulled out the sofa at bed time, the sheets obviously had not been changed. They had been just rolled up in the sofa and they where very dingy looking. The camper itself was clean and well stocked with anything you needed. Unfortunately My grandson would not go back in the water after he got a blood sucker on him. There was dog or geese poop all over the lawn by the water. We did not stay for the two night booking. If you are just passing through and need a place to just sleep for a night then maybe this place is for you. Bring a fan with you. Luckily I did.

Perfect mini vacation

  • 5 of 5

Such a relaxing, stunning property. The home was fully stocked, clean, and comfortable. The lake was absolutely beautiful and we had access to tons of floats, boats, and toys. The stores were all within a few miles but not a very busy town which was awesome. We wish our stay was longer, defintley had the best experience and got so much more than what we paid for! Dora greeted us and was very sweet and made sure we made the best of our visit. You can tell she and her husband put a lot of time and effort into the home, they went above and beyond. Will defintley be returning next summer for a longer stay!

lovely retreat

  • 4 of 5

My beau and I had a wonderful stay at this comfy mobile home. We were attending a convening in a neighboring town, so didn't get to spend much time on the lake, but overall a very fun and unique alternative to a hotel or camping! Dora greeted us upon arrival and was very kind and hospitable. The big bed was super comfy, we made good use of the kitchen, and we did try to visit the lake each night before sunset - just gorgeous. Only downfall was that we found it impossible to keep the windows open at night without attracting tons of bugs to the lights inside (they seemed to have no problem getting through the screens); but we weren't spending lots of waking time there, so it didn't bother us too much. Definitely would stay again if passing through.
