Originally from the Bay Area, we have lived elsewhere for many years, but have always been drawn back not just by family and friends, but also by the unparalleled beauty, warm culture and outdoor lifestyle. We value beauty, design and cleanliness and we believe that this is evident in how we keep our home. It is our hope and objective that our guests feel comfortable and at home as well.
Lilian Dubow purchased this house in 2011
We have always been attracted to the unique charm of Sausalito. A family of four, we are now expats in Asia and chose this home to use for our trips back each year. We are ecstatic to have found such a wonderfully relaxing location and look forward to sharing it with you.
This particular location in Sausalito is perfect for us. It is nestled in an area that is relatively sunny and warm. It offers a quick and easy route to Highway 101 for trips into San Francisco or shopping in Mill Valley. Most importantly, its location and feel provides a wonderful resting place after enjoying the delights of the Bay Area including San Francisco, the Marin Headlands, Stinson Beach, Napa Valley and the foothills of the East Bay. Of course, let’s not forget the Giants, 49ers and Sharks!
Please note that we have local property managers available for your convenience.
Note that, even though we have young children, we do not encourage people with very young children to stay here. The balconies have railings that invite climbing, but have a deadly drop; it can be stressful watching kids.
We spent our last night here just enjoying the view and the place, this AM will be packing time. Please pass on to the owner our very positive feelings about this place. Their attention to detail has been noted and appreciated. I can tell that a cook lives here because the kitchen includes the things that one would need.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We have stayed at inns, B&B's, hotels, castles, and all sorts of places all over the world, and this stay was right up there with the best. Lilian was a great hostess. The location is spectacular and the views are amazing. The house is extremely comfortable, warm, and cozy. We loved the location. We could walk down the hill in 10 minutes to the market for groceries or to go to the bakery or a restaurant, or walk to the ferry to catch a ride to downtown San Francisco right to the Ferry Building and cable cars. We were only 15 minutes to Muir Woods National Park or an hour's drive to Napa. There is a lot to do in the Marin Headlands (don't miss the Bonita Point Lighthouse), and that is a 5-10 drive (go on the weekday and you'll miss the crowds). We walked up and down the hilly streets and hidden step paths to town and got to admire all the hillside homes along the way. The only downside for those who don't like to walk is that what goes down must go up--the steps and streets are very steep, so the walk back up can be a little strenuous. However, if you can't walk, then you can drive down. Our teenage boys found a basketball court and tennis court nearby, which they used for skateboarding since no-one else was there. We had a perfect combination of things to do for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful, quiet days and evenings, spectacular views, a cozy home, and lots to do, and Lilian had everything we needed. The place was spotless and very well maintained. We would highly recommend this house.
Grand Rapids, MI
The accommodations were awesome and views amazing. You would not be disappointed and highly recommend. Perfect vacation with dear friends (ditto every positive comment in reviews).
A beautiful home with simply amazing views, and the design and layout of the house really make the most of the great location. The whole place is clean and extremely well equipped, with lots of little touches that make it extra special. The booking process was quick and efficient, and could not have been smoother. We really hope to be able to stay there again one day.
Can't wait to come back! Everything was top quality, from the linens and dishes to the views and warm welcome from Lilian. We enjoyed dining with a spectacular view, relaxing on the balconies, and watching the sailboats on the water. Perfect VRBO and so fairly priced.
We stayed here with one other couple for four nights. The house is clean and beautifully furnished and the view is absolutely amazing. My only complaint about the inside was the second bedroom was very small. It is quite a few steps up from the street but it wasn't too bad. Street parking can be a little difficult at times. We got to see a mother and baby deer right outside our front door several times. The owner was very nice and helpful when we had questions about the local stores. We would recommend this for one couple, two only if the second couple doesn't mind a tiny bedroom.
Although greeted by "Karl", that seems to be the nick name for the summer fog around San Francisco, we soon saw the amazing views of Sausalito, Alcatraz and San Francisco. There are a number of steps to reach the house, but this shouldn't be a problem. The house is clean and tasteful. Not very big but well laid out. Comfortable beds. Quit location but within striking distance of everything the area has to offer. Also, the property manager was very helpful and professional.
