Comfortable 2BR Placerville Cabin w/Forested Views

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Come escape the stresses of everyday life at this quaint 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin in a beautiful wooded setting. Once a central hub for the region's mining operations, Placerville, California boasts a tremendous amount of history from the gold-rush days and peaks the interest of any visitor. With a variety of historic landmarks, old classic buildings, and museums, as well as a flourishing high-quality wine industry, it's easy to understand why Placerville appeals to so many visitors!

There's enough room in the Cabin to accommodate up to 6 guests, so this home is an ideal size for a family or group of couples out for a relaxing getaway. You'll find the cabin's interior quite comfortable and inviting, complete with updated stainless steel appliances in the full kitchen, a cozy wood burning stove in the living area, and soothing wall colors. Everything you need to be as relaxed as possible during your stay is here, including a Jacuzzi bathtub in one of the bathrooms with views out to the woods. Step outside to the expansive deck - partially screened in, in front - to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the fantastic views of the forest and the middle fork of the Cosumnes River in the background, which you're welcome to swim or wade in. (Please note the water level of the river is being affected by the drought.) Venture down the walking path to explore the river itself, and then rinse off in the cabin's outdoor shower on your way back after going for a swim. All the ingredients for pure relaxation are here!

This cabin is in a great location to experience practically everything the area has to offer, including several outstanding wineries in El Dorado and Amador Counties. Take a tour of the Golf Bug Park & Mine for some history, or meander through Placerville's charming Main Street to observe its many historical markers that signify certain events or figures of importance during the gold-rush period. However you choose to spend your time during your vacation, this cabin is bound to become a place you love coming home to at the end of the day!

This cottage is located near 20-plus wineries within 15 minutes of the home. Located at a comfortable 2100 ft elevation, this home is a year round destination. There are also skiing and riding at Kirkwood or Sierra-at-Tahoe which are about 45 miles away. Come stay at our wonderful home!

Loved everything about this property!

  • 5 of 5

We came up for a girls birthday weekend of wine tasting at Apple Hill. The house was cozy and inviting and had everything we needed. Loved the woodstove and the welcome bottle of wine. Walked down to the creek the morning before we went home and got some great pics. Make sure to arrive before dark. We got a little lost and had no phone service but the owners gave us great written directions and we found it without too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

The perfect cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here - it was the perfect cabin in the woods with access to the river (great for our dog), a comfortable and cozy home, and a great place to disconnect. During our stay we checked out downtown Placerville for the Holiday Tree Lighting Festival which was a quaint downtown with lots of great shops and places to eat. We also got over to Sly Park for some easy hiking and views of the snow capped mountains. This cabin was the perfect get away from technology and a busy day-to-day schedule. Highly recommend to anyone looking to disconnect and great for your pup too!

Short getaway

  • 4 of 5

Excellent home. Well decorated and very comfortable. 30 mins to downtown placerville. No internet or cell service so that's one negative. As seniors we felt uneasy without cell service as husband got ill and we left a day early as I was concerned not being able to reach someone in case of emergency. But overall lovely spot

Great cabin in a beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is so comfortable and well appointed. Everything you need is there and the surrounding area is beautiful. There is almost no cell phone reception and NO internet but that adds to the peace and quiet. What a great place.

Cardiff, California

The property is great and well-equipped.

  • 4 of 5

This is a nice property. It came with many supplies already ready for us and a bottle of wine to drink. The patio is beautiful and serene. The owner's are great as well. If there is one thing that took getting acclimated to is that there is no or very limited cell service and no Internet, which may have been a good thing. I especially liked the wildlife and river just across the street. We would go there again.
