We love meeting new people. We both have traveled but like to stay in private homes.
Linda Moore purchased this cottage in 2010
Crossville is the golf capital of TN. We sit on 5 acres and are close to town. We love visitors that want to relax and have fun on vacation.
Private with lots of woods. Front and back porch with plenty of seating to enjoy. Pond to fish in, poles provided. Fire pit with wood provided. Horse Shoe pit in back yard.
Second time we've stayed and enjoyed the property just as much this time. Linda is easy to work with and so prompt with responses to any inquiries.
We were unsure of our plans as well as the exact number of people who would stay, but Linda was wonderful to work with. The cottage was great for all ages and provided space and activities for all of us. We have our next stay booked and are looking forward to it.
I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay this weekend at the Acorn Cottage. Linda and John were so nice to speaking with during our visit. The cottage was exactly like the pictures online. We went hiking at Falls Creek Falls and had the best time. We also went to the Cumberland Caverns that were a sight to behold. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a nice country setting with lots of hiking and outdoor activities. Thanks again John and Linda we had a great time.
What can I say? Acorn Cottage was our dream home! It was amazing and very large! Linda and John took such good care of us while staying there. We were not there for a vacation, yet a medical emergency with our son. It was a last minute rental and we were so glad we found it! The home was incredibly clean and very well taken care of. Linens, toiletries, anything you needed was there. Because we were rushing to TN to be with our son (one day to pack up 3 kids and two adults), they ran out and bought us some groceries to start with. They made sure our girls had breakfast in the morning. My girls had so much fun exploring and collecting acorns! We saw two small deer in the yard (which made my kids day) that my girls nick named. My girls had so much fun, they felt like it was a vacation. We will always be grateful to Linda and John for our time there and their kindness towards our whole family. We cannot wait to return one day to "vacation" and enjoy the fishing and the hammock once more... thank you!
We had a wonderful holiday at Acorn Cottage. Linda and John, the owners, are delightful and the cabin has everything you need and is extremely well stocked. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and have never experienced one with so many extra supplies and sundry items available to use. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing and the cottage is large and spacious. We didn't even use the upstairs as the ground floor is so large. It is very conveniently located with many state parks quite near. We will definitely return to enjoy this hidden gem.
I spent a month at Acorn Cottage with my two dogs and four students (all College students) while we worked on a research project in Tennessee. I often travel with my dogs and book stays in private rentals so they have more room. Acorn Cottage is by far the best place I have ever stayed, and I will surely return as soon as I can.
The cabin is large, yet cozy with lots of cute little spaces such as the little seating area outside the upstairs bedrooms. When we wanted to socialize we gathered on the comfy couches in the living room but when we needed private time each one of us could find a place to ourselves. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and was large enough so all five of us could participate in preparing our communal meals.
The grounds and cabin are well-maintained and gorgeous. My dogs loved the backyard which has ample shade and lots of room for playing games like frisbee and soccer. The front area has a pond stocked with fish and lined with fishing poles so my students could experiment with catch and release fishing. There is a hammock in the front yard, a fire pit, lots of trees, and cool breezes that make even the hottest day comfortable to sit outside.
The cabin is situated in a beautiful area of Cumberland County right outside of Crossville. The area is hilly and forested with beautiful country roads. There is a nice little place for breakfast called Linda's which is nearby, but it is also very easy to get into Crossville for shopping, restaurants, and fun. There are hiking trails and waterfalls a short drive from the cabin and plenty of parks to explore.
Linda and John are delightful. They make sure everything is working and are friendly and warm. Best of all they seem to have anticipated everything a guest could need for a comfortable stay. Although they live close by the cabin is set back on the property so that their guests have full privacy.
Although I have stayed in many rental properties for vacations and work this is the first time I have recommended a place. I have no reservations about recommending Acorn Cottage. It is a very special place with wonderful and helpful owners.
We are 1 1/2 hours from Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga. Lots of parks and lake local.
