Miðborg Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Just Steps Away From Everything The City And Iceland Has To Offer To You

101 the heart of Reykjavik and Grettisgata 2 is in the middle of 101 here to enjoy what this city full of life has to offer all year around

Tastefully decorated 3 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment with all the amenities you might need during your visit.

2 bedrooms with queen-size beds and new innerspring mattresses and one bedroom with a French size Tempur mattress - French size because it is a over 200 year old bed frame made by my husband's great great great great grandfather so the size is 120*190 cm which is 4ft by 6ft4- so for a very close sleeping couple or one person.

It is an open plan apartment with a flat screen TV, DVD player, Apple TV.

The kitchen fully equipped with AEG appliances, has a Nespresso coffee machine ( although you need to bring your own capsules like Mr Clooney does as they do not sell capsules here in Iceland) there is also a teakettle, 4 bread toaster,

The teak dinning table seats 6.

You can also enjoy the garden.

The bathroom has a very big Italian shower and the laundry room is hidden behind the sliding doors. You will find towels and a hair dryer.

The apartment is registered for short term leasing. You are minutes away from the best bakery in Reykjavik and grocery shopping. Outdoor geothermal swimming pools are all over one is just 5 min away - the only indoor swimming pool in Reykjavik Sundhöllinn very vintage with outdoor jacuzzis - we love our pools. Many important decisions are made in Iceland's jacuzzis early in the morning as we love to go swimming before going to work.

The airport shuttle stops 15 feet from our front door. You can arrange for them to pick you up when you are going back home.

Non smoking, with a security system

A tiny, quiet apartment that's maximized space and charm

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't believe how tiny the apartment was, yet all five of us (husband, mother-in-law, two boys ages 8 &10, and myself) felt like we had plenty of space. The rooms were crazy tiny but comfortable, and the area (near Hallgrímskirkja) was quiet yet close to downtown. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends visiting the city. Great place!

SMALL and loud.

  • 1 of 5

Beds were to small, My husband and I did not fit in the small bed. The place was to hold 4 of us 3 max was comfortable. 1 of us selpy on the couch.

Peoples trash from previous tenants under bed, and couch area. TV was not operable, lights stayed on all night - had to use breaker to turn off. Had a family Emergence, had to leave Iceland Monday 8-29 stayed 1 say of the 5, Not even a clean deposit returned.

This loft, or basement is in a great location. However Icelanders stay up late (which is super cool) However when your trying to sleep and screaming kids and running from side to side from the house above. That was a night mare.

No insulation. You ht your head on the ceiling beams. It is cute, and perfect for 5'6 people we are above 6 foot.

Loud low ceilings with heavy foot traffic on the street. Upstairs neighbors up late and sounded like they were moving furniture until 3:30 am. The beds were NOT made when we checked in at 6 pm, house manager had to come by around 8 pm to make the beds and finished making the laundry that I had to move to the dryer. Expensive and very loud for the experience!

Great property in a lively hip area

  • 4 of 5

Great stay for 6 people. The property in downtown Reyjkavic and you can walk to restaurants, shops and attractions. We appreciated that there is a washer and dryer for laundry, the blow dryer for hair and we did take our own Nespresso pods for the coffee maker. The only drawback is that the bed in the 3rd bedroom is really only for one person. It was not a problem for us, but it might be for some people. I believe that they are upfront however in describing the bed as really only suitable for one person. If there is a second person that is willing to sleep on the sofa, then it is not a problem. There is no parking on residence and the parking in the area is paid parking, however it is free on Sundays. Other than that I would stay here again and I would recommend this property to others.

Extremely disappointed with the property and experience. The owner asked someone to meet us with the keys and apparently she thought we were arriving the following day. She then passed on the responsibility to someone else who left the keys in a fake plant in literally a pool of dirty, sitting water, which I had to fish out. When you walk in, the ceilings were very low and whoever was responsible for cleaning up after the last guest did not replace paper towels nor the toilet paper. In the welcome book, she indicated that there were extra towels for our use, which we came to find later, dirty and in the washing machine. We then had to remove someone else's soiled towels before being able to do our own laundry. When asked about the toilet paper and towels, we kept getting a response that everything should be there. Well, it wasn't. Clearly an absentee owner relying on incapable people to maintain their apartment. Terrible experience all around, there are better places to stay.

We live in Colorado

Great location in central Reykjavik.

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a great location to appreciate all that Reykjavik has to offer. It is convenient to restaurants, shopping, and a lovely bakery. This three bedroom apartment easily accommodates five adults. The bathroom was spacious with a huge comfortable shower. However, the water temperature in the bathroom seemed to change from hot to cold unexpectedly. We couldn't get the TV to work but really, who want to stay in and watch TV in Reykjavik anyway. I would stay here again if I return to Reykjavik.
