My husband and I purchased this house as an investment property 5 years ago. We live about 30 miles away from the lake house and have always enjoyed the Irish Hills area. After spending time at this house we discovered we love lake life. We have spent the past five summers enjoying the lake and the Irish Hills area. Vineyard Lake is a very quiet, family friendly lake. There is a sandy beach for swimming. The neighbors are great, we have made some wonderful new friends. We find time at the lake to be very relaxing, many nights are spent watching the sun set from the dock. Family and friends have enjoyed many nights around the campfire just talking and laughing. I have become quite a fisherman. I love to get up early and take the boat out, to my favorite fishing spot.
We also enjoy the country setting with Great back roads for biking and walking. This is a good area for seeing deer and wild turkeys.
We now own the house across the street, which makes it possible to share this house with other families.
We had a girls weekend and rented the house. We only had 7 people so we had more than enough room. House has adorable furnishings, kitchen is stocked so are all linens. Overall had a great stay, would love to come back in the summer! We stayed in the fall and got 10 inches of snow!
My husband had his 40th high school reunion in Adrian so I booked this house for 4 nights prior to his event. We flew in from California and the owner met us there when we arrived to give us a quick tour and information. She was very nice and helpful and the neighbors were super friendly. Our family was more than pleasantly surprised to find our house to be extremely comfortable and roomy. There are 3 queen beds, 1 twin, 1 daybed and a pull out sofa. The bathrooms are spacious, especially the downstairs one with the jet bath tub. The rooms are decorated cottage style. There are plenty of soft, fluffy white towels and all the linens are provided and the beds are set up prior to your arrival. There is a dual washer and dryer in the upstairs bathroom which is very convenient. The kitchen is fully stocked with pretty much everything you need. The fridge is large and roomy for your cold food. The grocery store is maybe 15 minutes away in the center of town. The outdoor area has seating for about 10 people on a very large deck that also has a campfire for smores in the evenings! There is a play yard for kids in the front. The BBQ grill worked perfectly. I must say our family spent a lot of time outside with friends and family. My 2 girls ages 7 and 11 really enjoyed their stay here catching fireflies or more like chasing them and going to the lake to swim, kayak, or fish. It is a short walk down to the lake but my mother-in-law is disabled so we were able to temporarily drive her there to sit at a nearby bench to watch the girls play in the water. The sunsets were magnificent on Vineyard Lake. The owner is great at communicating. I couldn't figure out how to get dishwasher to work and she responded right away to my texts and with her helpful hints, it worked out great. There are a lot of nice touches to this home that shows the owner takes pride in her property. Very special place to make lasting memories! Our family will be back next year!
The house was very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and roomy, and well stocked! The deck was awesome, large, shaded, we spent alot of time relaxing there, they had plenty of deck furniture. The lake was clear, clean and warm. The fire pit area was really nice. We had several camp fires there. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful. We found many good restaurants and town is close if you forgot anything. The owner was so nice and warm and we felt very welcome! The whole area is nice. We will definitely go back.
We just got back from the June Michigan NASCAR race where 9 of us stayed for 3 nights. It was perfect! It was minutes from the track, minutes from Brooklyn to get groceries and a beautiful spot. The lake was gorgeous, the home was immaculate and beautifully decorated. There was lots of room for everyone. I would highly recommend this for race weekend or a weeks vacation. It was quiet and peaceful too!
Five of us traveled Pennsylvania for the Sprint Cup race. The house is in a great location for getting to/ from the race. we were less than 10 minutes from the track! The house is well-equipped. The outside patio is lovely. We spent many hours relaxing on the patio. Local restaurants are great although some are closed on race day...or close early on Sunday when you're trying to get to a late dinner after the race. We will definitely plan ahead better for that next time. The setting is peaceful and quiet although there is not a direct view of the lake. We drove to Detroit one evening for the Tigers game....just a little over an hour to Detroit. Joyce is a great hostess. She provided us with lots of info about the area -- where to shop, get groceries, restaurants, traveling around the area, etc. If/when we return to Michigan for another race we will definitely stay at this property again!
We had family coming from all over the country, meeting here for our son's college graduation. This lovely home far exceeded what we expected and worked beautifully for our family. The owners were friendly and accommodating, provided many extra 'touches' to make it seem more like home and to provide a comfortable, clean and relaxing place to spend 3-4 days. Beautiful outside patio for eating and enjoying the outdoors, a short walk to the lake, very quiet. A few more comfy chairs in the living room area might have been helpful, but all in all, it had everything we needed and I would definitely come back again if the opportunity arose or recommend it to friends/family. Even the neighbors were friendly and kind!
