Deer Glen Vacation Lodge is the perfect base camp for exploring the Black Hills. Three of the four bedrooms each have two queen beds and the fourth bedroom has a full size bed. In addition, each of the two living rooms has a sofa sleeper, for a total of 9 beds in all. Three full bathrooms means nobody has to wait. While there is In-house laundry, we are also happy to exchange your towels and linens as often as you wish so that you don't have to concern yourself with chores.. A large two and a half car fully finished garage, and a wonderful deck with deck furniture, picnic tables, and gas grills for those great evening bar-b-q's. Deer Glen is surrounded with lots of manicured lawn and trees with plenty of room to set up a volley ball net, play Frisbee, or just play a little catch. We have a wonderful playground for the little ones with climbers, slides and swings. Bike rentals and paddleboat rentals are available right on the site. Our on-site staff is always available to answer questions, help you make plans, and offer suggestions. Naturally if something in the Lodge needs attention, they are always available to get it back in order. Additional Cottages and RV Sites available next door at Lake Park Campground.

About Scott Neslon
We have lived within 200 yards of Deer Glen Lodge since 1992. We loved the location then and we continue to love it now. We raised both our children here and one continues to work in the family business, Lake Park Campground and Cottages.
Scott Neslon purchased this House in 2001
Why Scott Neslon chose Rapid City
When Deer Glen Lodge became available in 2001 we jumped at the chance. The Lodge sets next to our home and family business, Lake Park Campground and Cottages. It has been a perfect fit.
What makes this House unique
Deer Glen Lodge gets its name from the many deer that make the surrounding meadow and hillside their home. Many visitors get to see a variety of wildlife at Deer Glen.

Great place to stay
Very quiet, good location. Fun to watch deer. Plenty of room, nice and clean. We were on the go all day long, would have liked to stay and enjoy the lake and park.
Nice and spacious
We had a group of 12 that stayed here. It was a spacious house with plenty of beds. Pretty dated style and decor, but it was adequate for our needs. Only disappointment was that check out was 9 a.m.
Hi: We do appreciate your having stayed with us. Deer Glen Lodge is a really neat place, having been originally built in the very early 1900's with parts of the original log walls exposed on the interior. This Spring one of the things we decided to do was make the check-out time 10 AM. Unfortunately, there are still some old listings and placards that may still list it as 9 am. I am sorry you didn't know about the later check out time.
What a beatiful Cabin!
Absolutely beautiful area, the cabin is surrounded by plenty of lush grass for playing. There are two kitchens stocked with anything you may need for cooking and entertaining. The upstairs offers privacy for younger families or children. The wrap around deck offers plenty of grills and seating for enjoying family time meals. The campground itself is in a great quiet location central to every attraction in the area. Another plus is the grocery store and down town attractions are just minutes away. The cleanliness is impeccable and the staff, including the owners Scott and Sherry, as well as the manager Chace, (and Monte in the office! Very knowledgable about the area and places you should visit) are more than accommodating should you need anything during your stay. I highly recommend this campground and this cabin in particular for family get togethers or a rental to share during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!
Thank you so much. We really appreciate you! Scott and Sherry
Home away from home...only better
Deer Glen has everything you will need to make your vacation as effortless as possible. Pots, pans, dishes, towels, and all appliances make this an ideal home base for a vacation to the Black Hills. My family and I found the facilities to be spotless with upscale heavy log furniture in the living, dining and sleeping areas. The mattresses were comfortable and we always had more than enough space to seat everyone at the dining table (two big benches on either side, with chairs on the ends; there's also a picnic table and more chairs outside). There's an expansive deck outside and a huge green grassy area in the front of the lodge where my kids enjoyed hours of playtime. The lake is just a short walk across a cute little bridge and the playground was also just along the way. (Great playground by the way!) It's a really quiet area set back from the rest of the cabins and we always had deer walking through the yard. We even got to see eagles resting in the branches near the cabin. Overall an amazing stay and we'd highly recommend this property to families or groups (lots of sleeping space!).
Beautiful Black Hills vacation!
We rented the Deer Glen Lodge for a family vacation that included 7 adults and 7 children (4 households). With two living room areas (upstairs and downstairs) we had plenty of space for adults to visit and kids to play. The house was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely visit again!
Exactly What We Wanted!
We just left here today and I wanted to make sure I gave it the excellent review it deserves! The campground was quiet, clean and great location for what we had planned (crazy horse, bear country, keystone).
We stayed in the Deer Glenn Lodge and it was clean, quaint, and very spacious! Plenty of room for 8 adults and 7 kids. The two grills and deck made it easy and relaxing for the whole family to enjoy being outside. It was a great vacation and Deer Glenn Lodge had a lot to do with that! And Monty was very friendly and helpful!
Great place to stay!

Miles of paved biking and hiking paths around the lake and following Rapid Creek. Bike rentals and paddleboat rentals on site.
