Perfect vacation home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 6 nights in this great condo. The location was perfect for the busy strip, but close enough to St. Augustine and restaurants, and close to parks and kayaking. Our 23-year old son joined us on Day 2. The condo was clean, well-equipped with beach chairs, towels, cooler, toys, etc. and plenty of toilet paper, soap, paper towels and kitchen necessities, and thoughtful extras. We only needed to buy food and bring personal toiletries Beds were very comfortable, large dining room table, view was great (even from beds) and pool and beach really were just steps away. Two elevators made access to condo easy. Rental was easy...all of the information we needed was sent to us in advance.

Some reviewers complain it is "dated"... that is part of the charm. We went for the view and beach access and were not disappointed. Property is well maintained...pool and patio area is clean. Beach access is splinters on plastic "wood" crossover, and beach is mostly hard packed, beautiful smooth sand, which is easier to walk on if you have mobility issues. Other guests in complex were friendly, and the owners checked in with us after we arrived.

We LOVE this place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit here... I am 50 and my mother will be 87 shortly. The accommodations are perfect for us. I can work on-line from my room with a beautiful view and she can sit in her room or in the living room and watch the ocean. There isnt a bad view to be had. We also love having a view of the intracoastal... the sunsets are gorgeous. I love to run the beach and swim in the pool... you just couldnt ask for more. It is beachy and yet close enough for day trips into St Aug. We keep finding new things we want to do "next time". We really love the area and esp. this condo.

Beautiful location - comfortable accommodations

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed the location and the condo very much. St. Augustine is a great location, not too busy, beautiful beach, friendly people. We liked that traffic wasn't too bad (like Orlando or Ft Myers Beach area); it was very easy and quick to get around. We have a 4 year old and he LOVED the Alligator Farm. We also went to Marineland, which was enjoyable but small and a quick trip since we didn't pay for any extra activities. Our only complaint was that the pool wasn't heated (not even a little) and was VERY cold to swim in for early April. We braved the cold water a few times during the week but it was exceptionally cold even with the warm, sunny weather. This of course is not the problem of the condo owner but for those seeking lots of pool time for spring break, it didn't happen. As for the condo, the rooms and the views were amazing. Accommodations were excellent - couldn't ask for anything more to be provided. There were even Legos for our little guy so he was thrilled to say the least. Great place and we highly recommend it!

Average and overpriced

  • 2 of 5

We rented this unit for the month of March 2016 directly from the owner. Granted the view is beautiful but the unit is only average in need of updating, and certainly not worth the money. The furniture is dated, the shower in the MBR has a paltry spray head, the toilets need coaxing to flush properly, and the patio furniture is flimsy plastic. In my opinion, it is not worth the price.

A relaxing, enjoyable true beach vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our third summer vacation at Ocean House. We absolutely love this condo! The views of the beach and intracoastal are fabulous. The pictures depict the condo and amenities exactly as you will find them. There are plenty of beach toys and chairs available to use. The washer/dryer in the unit is a big plus. The unit is very clean, well stocked with linens and you will find everything you need in the kitchen (except the food of course). We left items this year in the bathroom, David was immediate in his response saying he would ship them to us - AND pay the postage... how awesome is that? We will be back again next summer. This is a wonderful place to make memories. Our thanks to the owners - David and Libby (and Amy... for handling all the paperwork!).

In this home there is a stacked washer and dryer. The condo association does not allow for outside venting of the dryer. If the dryer is used for large or multiple loads the heat and humid air could affect your comfort on those hot summer days. While it is a great convenience if used for bathing suites etc. we just use the coin operated laundry room located on the same floor only two doors down. Less than 100 feet, door to door, on the same floor.
