Our family of five enjoyed our holiday stay on 30th and Lexington. We were four adults, a teenager, and a dog, and we had plenty of space. The layout, with a bedroom + bathroom at the front of the apartment and a bedroom + bathroom at the back was perfect for a group of our size. The central location made it easy to explore the city, and the easy access to groceries was much appreciated! One of the three of us that slept in the front bedroom did struggle a bit with the noise, but Lexington is quiet enough that it wasn't a major issue. The Herrick Guest Suites team was also helpful in booking, check-in, etc.
We did find the apartment to be lacking some items that we typically expect in rental apartments (it was particularly light on kitchen utensils), and there were aspects that were rough around the edges. During our stay, the coffee maker broke and the shower handle came out of the wall; we also checked in to find that most of the lightbulbs were burnt out, a kitchen chair was broken, and a few other small but frustrating issues. We made the team aware of these issues upon check out, so I hope they will have been addressed for future guests.
Overall, our family agreed that we'd return to the property in the future, particularly if we could confirm that some of the issues we had had been resolved.
This apartment is outstanding! There is so much room and it can easily and comfortably accommodate a large group, however it's cozy enough for just a few. It's in a terrific location close to anything you could want or need while in NYC. There's a Trader Joe's grocery store just a block or two away and many awesome restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. We had five women in our group and were in NYC for a girls weekend. There is plenty of sleeping room and two big bathrooms. There is also plenty of closet space including a huge walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The kitchen is large and provides enough room for all of your food and beverages and offers the convenience of being able to eat some of your meals at the apartment. The living room has nice seating for settling in, relaxing and having conversation. There is also a coat closet and a pantry as well as a full sized washer and dryer in the laundry room! The outdoor terrace is amazing! Due to very cold weather we weren't able to take advantage of it but it was such a nice feature to have available. The owners were very easy to work with and responsive to our needs.
In terms of things to think about, this is a walk-up. The apartment is on the third floor so you have to walk up some steps with your luggage. In our view this was a minor inconvenience. The windows in the front bedroom (with two full beds and a pull-out sofa) is very comfortable however you can hear traffic from the street below. This could be an issue for a light sleeper. The towels are really nice and there are plenty of them, however, there aren't any wash cloths. If that is important to you, you will want to bring some with you. Along the same lines, there weren't any tissues, so bring some along if you need them.
Overall we had a terrific weekend and would absolutely stay at this location again and recommend it to our friends!
Very conveniently located in midtown, easy access to anywhere in the City. Good places to eat within a few blocks, front bedroom has some street noise but back bedroom is very peaceful -- both are quite sizesble by any standards. Don't let the drab building exterior and hallways deter or freak you out, it's a lovely apartment on the other side of the door true to the pictures!
What a great apartment! Very spacious, especially for NYC. Great location on Lexington and E. 30th. Clean and well-appointed. We felt safe, and the street noise was not an issue. 2 large bedrooms with comfy beds and nice bathrooms - nice linens as well! Full refrigerator, microwave and ceramic stove top in the kitchen - not that we cooked, but it's certainly an option! A nice sitting room and dining room. Any service you would need is close by, including lots of neighborhood restaurants, hair salons, spas, etc.
I certainly recommend this apartment!
Great place to stay for our family of four (2 teenagers) on a 4 night vacation in NYC. Apartment was very nice, big, clean and owners were great to work with. We stayed in July 2016 during a heat wave and the air conditioning worked great so we had a cool oasis to come back to and rest up while in between activities. There was an outdoor deck which provided some private outdoor space which is very rare in NYC.
Neighborhood was nice with plenty of nearby grocery stores, bagel shops, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. It is a little if beaten path but still only 3 or 4 blocks to Empire State Bldg so you can walk to Times Square and Midtown deatinations but we just took Cabs, Uber and Subway and got around town easily.
We would come back here next time the whole family wants to go to NYC in a heartbeat.
Spent 2 nights in this great apartment with husband, daughter and her fiance, my sister and my mom. Plenty of room for everyone--spacious, well appointed, comfortable, fun & eclectic furnishings, great location. Having 2 bathrooms was great. Master bath is huge. Fun balcony in the back off the master bedroom. Easy walk to subway. Really nice to have a working kitchen for breakfast and snacks, even brought in pizza one night after a very long day of sightseeing and walking. Lots of food places in the neighborhood to get morning coffee and bagels, etc., as well as lots of restaurants.
And there is a washer and dryer!
Apartment is on the 3rd floor--no elevator; somewhat narrow staircase. We had no problems. Note to access master bathroom, you must enter master bedroom.
Would definitely stay here again!
