Cancún Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Wake up to the sun glistening across the ocean, feel the seabreeze as you enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony, & if you are there the right time of the month, dim the lights (almost all lights have dimmers), and let the moon shining across the water enhance those romantic nights.

Amara Cancun is a newer complex with guarded, gated entrance, security 24/7, & walkways meandering thru the gardens leading to the BBQ grill areas, restaurant at the large palapa, pool, & beach, as well as gym, kid's club, & playground, all within steps of the condo. Wonderful panaramic views of the Caribbean Sea, Isla Mujeres, & the coastline toward the Hotel Zone.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, second bedroom has a queen size bed (both of these rooms have built-in closets & drawers as well as night stands & dressers so storage for clothes is plentiful), there is a small 3rd room with bunk beds, plus a sleeper sofa in the TV room with a queen size pull out bed, so the condo will sleep 8 people very comfortably. But 8 is the very maximum the condo will accommodate.

2 bedrooms have safes in the closet just in case you want that extra secure feeling for your jewelry, cash, passports, etc.

Attention Ladies: All 3 bathrooms have wall mounted hair dryers. The guest bath & 3rd bath have wall mounted, lighted, magnifying mirrors, & the master suite has a lighted magnifying mirror on the built-in makeup counter. All 3 baths are stocked with cotton rounds & Q-tips.

With both living room & TV room there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and there's a large dining room with long table & 8 chairs, 4 bar stools, & fully equiped kitchen, not just the bare essentials either. When we used to travel to different areas I learned to pack saran wrap, aluminum foil, zip lock bags, etc. I wanted others to enjoy the condo & have all these items already conveniently in place.

Each air conditioning unit has it's own remote control, & ceiling fans have individual remote controls. Master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, & TV room have wall mounted flat screen TV's. Master bedroom has Blue Ray DVD, TV room has Blue Ray DVD & Home Theatre with surround sound, & there's wireless internet.

Laundry room is stocked with laundry detergent, Oxy clean, bounce fabric softener sheets, spray starch, iron & ironing board, broom, vacuum cleaner, etc. All linens & pool towels are provided as well as beach towels, so all you have to pack are your clothes & personal toiletries.

There are numerous upgrades and additions to this condo from the typical unit there. We wanted it to be very nice, comfortable, & feel like home for others to enjoy, as well as ourselves & family & friends that join us.

If you have your own car or rental car, there are 2 outside assigned parking spaces, & an additional assigned space in the covered garage, conveniently located at the foot of the stairs & just a few feet from the elevator. There are 2 carts next to the elevator to transport luggage & groceries from your car or taxi to the condo. Please be courteous to others & return the carts as soon as you are finished with them.

Extra convenient store is across the street, Oxxo convenienet store and McDonalds (sorry, McDonalds closed) is a short walk up the street (about a block) at the Terminal, where you can also take the ferry to Isla Mujeres - can rent a golf cart & tour the island, shop, have a great lunch, enjoy the beach, swim with the dolphins (this particular activity is expensive though) - Isla Mujeres is a great day trip.

There are a lot of shopping markets, such as Market 28 downtown, & several malls including Plaza Kukulcan, Plaza la Isla, Plaza Flamingo, and Plaza Forum in the Hotel Zone, & Las Americas on Av. (not a misspell, that's the way it is in Cancun) Tulum. Suparama by Wal-Mart grocery is just a few minutes away on Av. Bonampak, plus Wal-Mart, Sams, & Costco downtown. Other large stores similar to Wal-Mart are: Chedraui, Mega. & Soriana. All these have bakeries with a wide variety of fresh breads & pastries. You can get fresh Lobster & fish from the fisherman at the beach or across the street. When you want to take a break from cooking at the condo, there is an array of resturants all around Cancun to satisfy whatever type food you desire. Be sure to try some of the authentic Mexican restaurants, a couple are within walking distance, & most are reasonably priced. However, some of the American known restaurants are pricy.

If you are energetic & like day time adventure & nightlife, there are plenty of options such as: swimming with the Dolphins, Tulum, Xcaret, Chit enitza, Senor Frogs, Carlos N Charlies, Coco Bongos (we highly recommend if you like high energy, music, & shows every few minutes - we have taken several people & they are amazed- say it's much more than they expected).

We can give you information for you to arrange convenient transportation from & to the airport (not included in the rental price). They will meet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it, then carry you in a private van straight to the condo.

We have a fabulous property manager that will meet you at the condo upon your arrival, give you keys, explain things about the condo, go over the administration rules, then meet with you again just before your departure. Cleaning before you arrive and after you depart is done at no charge to you. Also, if you should like to have cleaning services during your stay, she will schedule a member of her team for a small fee (currently $35 which includes up to 4 hours of service). It is my understanding that you could include in this time frame for breakfast or lunch snacks to be prepared for you there at the condo. That's a deal.

The restaurant at Amara, as we have been told by travelers that stayed at our condo & by another owner, as well as from our own experience, has good food, good prices, & the people running it are friendly. It is located at the large palapa, just steps away from the pool. We think it is great that a restaurant is now right there at Amara - so convenient.

So whether you want a vacation packed with activities, simply time to relax, or a balanced combination of both, Cancun & Amara has it all for you.

About Susie Loftis

Ray was born in Virginia, moved to the little town of Burgaw, NC the summer before 6th grade. I (Susie) was born in Burlington North Carolina, lived in Siler City, until my parents moved back to their home area, which was Burgaw, when I was in the 4th grade. So, Ray & I have known each other since 6th grade. Were just good friends all thru school & following years. I was a young widow, remarried, divorced, Ray was married 18 years, had 2 children, divorced. He called just as an old friend to have dinner, & it's been magic ever since. We have been happily married, Sept. 23, 2014 was 25 years, & have 5 grandchildren. We live in Wilmington, NC. We enjoyed traveling, started going to Cancun for a week, then 1 1/2 weeks, 2 weeks, & it still was not long enough. Reason for purchasing. We found out about Amara Cancun pre-construction, & could see the potential of growth in the area. We just love Cancun, so much to do there. Due to life happening, including health issues, we have not been able to get back very often the past 3 years, but look forward to the time when we can go & spend weeks or months at our Amara Cancun condo & have family & friends join us to enjoy it, Cancun, & surrounding areas as much as we do.

Muy bonito complejo y excelete condominio

  • 4 of 5

Disfrutamos mucho, gracias !

Attractive, roomy, well furnished, bedding and towels clean. However we had no hot water during our entire stay and management did not fix it. There were bugs in the dining and kitchen area and dust everywhere. We had to wash all of the kitchen wear before using, it was all dirty. Tried washing dishes in the dish washer and it did not work so we ended up washing dishes by hand. Showers and faucets shoot water in every direction, always managing to get you all wet even if you only wanted to wash your hands. The pool area, restaurant and grilling facility very nice. The beach is not nice at all. Unit too far from the Cancun fun and attractions, except from fairy to Isla mujeres. This unit has lots of potential if it was kept clean and with hot water for guests to shower comfortably after a long day of fun but exhausting activities.

A great and spacious condo!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this condo and our time in Cancun. Susie was very easy to communicate with and gave us lots of helpful information. My husband and two boys (ages 14 and 12) and I stayed for 6 days. We found the condo to be a better deal than trying to get two hotel rooms in the hotel zone. (The only draw-back to the condo was the room with the bunks. It is not air-conditioned and is very tiny. This was not a big problem as our youngest son didn't mind it - it stays cooler if you keep the door open and it has two fans). Overall the condo was quite spacious and the pool is very nice and big (though the water was quite warm during our stay in July - so we waited to swim until the evening which was wonderful). The beach at the condo isn't the best, but that was ok since we were doing other things anyway. We found a brand new restaurant just down the beach (not toward the Isla Mujares ferry). Some residents of the condo recommended it. It had only been open 8 days when we went and we found it to be just wonderful. It is called Puerto Santos, though they didn't even have a sign up yet. They had amazing seafood. They brought two whole fresh fish to our table to choose which one we wanted for dinner! We were in Cancun for a vacation and to visit an old friend of my husband's (and his family) who lives and works in Cancun. He unexpectedly loaned us his car for the week so that was a huge bonus. Though I only recommend driving in Cancun if you feel comfortable with city driving (which my husband does). It was convenient to have the car but renting would be very expensive with the added insurance. We enjoyed a catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres, though I would probably have preferred to take to the ferry straight over so that we could control our own time there. We had an amazing day of snorkeling in a town about 45 mins away called Puerto Morales. We drove there with our friend who knew where to go. It was some of the best snorkeling in the area and so easy to just get a small boat to come to shore and take you out. We had dinner at another great restaurant there called El Mercadito - another amazing seafood restaurant! Overall a trip our family will not forget - made convenient and comfortable by Susie and her property manager Bego - who was prompt and helpful.

Loved it.

  • 5 of 5

The condo was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. There was 8 friends staying, other than 2 sleeping on the sleeper sofa… overall space was no problem. Yes the third bedroom was smaller but we anticipated this from the photos. Having 3 bathrooms was a huge plus.

The security is great and very friendly.

The pool was absolutely beautiful and although the beach isn't perfect I still enjoyed swimming in the ocean. The restaurant was closed which was slightly disappointing but have found out its because they were between owners so I think it should be up and running for the next people! We did cook up a bunch of food and bring it down to the huts next to the pool once night for a dinner which was great - the pool is lit up and very pretty at night.

Susie gave a ton of info with all questions answered ahead of time making it very stress-free.

Being next to the ferry was great. We spent a day at Isla Mujeres - we recommend renting golf carts - great way to see the island and keep a breeze going. North beach is a must-see.

Owner's Response: Claire, thank you for taking the time to do a review, especially so promptly - know you just returned home today. Thanks also for your correspondence earlier today & giving me some info about a restaurant just up the street, etc., which will be very helpful to future travelers. So glad you & your friends had a great time. Hope you will keep our Amara Cancun condo in mind for a return stay. Thanks, Susie & Ray

Relaxing and quiet- Better than a resort!

  • 5 of 5

Susie and Rays condo is amazing! We were two families with kids and there was enough room for everyone for the month. We loved that there is a bathroom for every bedroom. The 3rd bedroom was very small but for kids it's perfect! It was too warm some nights so the kids slept in the tv room. It would be nice to have a better fan in there. Having two living rooms made it very spacious, everyone had a place to sit and go without feeling like we were on top of each other. It is beautifully furnished, not like a rental at all! It was great having the gourmet kitchen. We stayed for a month so we did a lot of cooking for ourselves and it was nice having all the "extras" not just the basics that usually come with a rental. The pool is amazing. Great for little ones too since there is a shallow part in front of some cabanas so parents can sit and keep a close eye on the kids. The pool side restaurant is Good and offers a variety of things. In the middle of our stay it was taken over by a Canadian couple. The menu was changed and it is much better now! The grounds are beautifully kept. Just like a resort but so much quieter!! If you are down by the pool in the mornings when the gardeners are trimming the palm trees they will pass the coconuts out and the kitchen will cut them open for you to drink from. We never rented a car. Truthfully you don't need it. Taxis are cheap. To Centro or the ADO bus station ( if you want to go to Playa del Carmen, Tulum etc) they are about 35-40 pesos. When we did go to the hotel zone we took the bus and you can catch it in front of the condo on the other side of the road. It's 15 pesos per person and a nice ride. If you like ceviche or shrimp tacos there is a great place across the road by the convince store. It's fresh and a good price! The security at the condo is top taxi driver told us that he's never seen security that tight at a condo before. So you will definitely feel safe no worries there! Leaving the condo and turning left towards Centro we walked this many times during the day and evening, scouting out some taco stands. We found plenty on either side of the road. The best one though was on the left side of the road before you get to the bridge turn left into residential and it's on your right. There are two side by side, they are both good but we ate at the first one a lot more. They offer Tortas made with beef or pork and tripa if you are adventures and they have different tacos too. Very cheap and good!

Owner's Response: Hi Lyndsay. WOW what a great review. Thank you so much for all the detailed info, this is very helpful for future travelers. Glad you liked the little restaurants near the overpass I recommended. We'll have to check out the food across the street next to the convenient store next time we are there. Thanks for all the correspondence we shared during your 4 week stay, for giving me info, answering my questions, taking care of some things. Very grateful & appreciative of all that. Hope you will find yourself wanting to return for a 2nd stay at our Amara Cancun condo in the near future, whether for a month again, or less time, or possibly even longer. Thanks again, Susie & Ray

Relaxing Cancun Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here in Cancun. Susie gave us heaps of information in advance of our stay and we didn't have too much trouble finding the place and we were met by property manager representative to show us the condo. The condo is located walking distance from the isle mujeres ferry terminal and is a bus / taxi ride into the main city centre (limited shops are available in the immediate area). The condo is well equipped but note that the 3rd bedroom is really tiny so only really suitable for small children (our teenage daughter slept in the main room which is really spacious). Pool area is sensational and loved the casual and relaxed environment which is a contrast to the hectic Hotel Zone.
