Superb villa, only ten years old, and newly renovated in the spring of 2014.
Located in a peaceful neighborhood in the magnificent St Paul region on the Côte d’Azur, the property has dawn-till-dusk sunlight and full privacy. The terraced gardens with olive trees provide a peaceful atmosphere and augments the view towards the sea.
Only a short 15 minutes drive from the airport in Nice and 10 min from beaches, the villa comes with all amenities, including fully air-conditioned bedrooms, two of which have access to a private terrace on the upper level. Two of the bedrooms, the master bedroom on the main floor and the remaining bedroom upstairs, both have en-suite bathrooms. In addition, the master bedroom has direct access to a terrace and to the pool area.
With an infinity salt water swimming pool flowing into the breathtaking panoramic sea view, the outside area is perfect for relaxing in the sun, cooking up a barbecue in the outside summer kitchen, or splashing around with friends and family.
The car space features parking for two to three cars, depending on the size, and also contains several games like ‘jeux de boule’ - which can be played on the ‘jeux-de-boule’ field on the property - and ping pong.
Should the weather take an unexpected turn for the worse, the entertainment system in the living room includes French, Sky UK + you can choose if you would rather German, Spanish or Nordic satellite TV. Hi Speed broadband is available throughout the villa with ensured wifi signal through the extensive router setup. In the living room there is also an internet radio with access to more than 5000 stations.
When the explorer urge becomes overwhelming, the nearby shops, medieval villages, and surrounding area provide plenty of action and activities. In November 2015 one of the most beautiful shopping centres has opened just 5 minutes drive away. Everything ranging from antique shopping, sightseeing, mountaineering, tennis and mountain biking to authentic dining and casinos is within 20 minutes by car. In addition, Italy and Monaco are less than an hour away! Within the local area there is also golf, go-karting, and hiking possibilities in the summer, while in winter and spring the alps are within close reach for a day of skiing and playing in the snow.
If the beach is preferred, there are several beaches along the coast stretching out from underneath your feet. St Tropez is located only an hour and a half to the west, while beaches are spread out all throughout the area all the way to Nice in the middle and Monaco to the east. Many beaches offer activities for adults and children alike; parasailing, tubing, and jet skiing to mention some.
Bus transportation is within walking distance from the property and the closest train station is located in nearby Cagnes-sur-Mer.
For the convenience of the renter pool maintenance, garden maintenance, and two hours of cleaning two times a week is included in the rent. Extra services such as cleaning, ironing, cooking, or similar is available at a charge of €20 per hour. Diesel for heating the pool and house is charged separately and can be switched off if not desired. Electricity will be charged at cost.
My husband and I treated our adult children and their significant others to a week in the south of France. We've travelled in the South of France for the past three summers and we knew we wanted to locate ourselves around Saint Paul de Vence.
This villa was everything we could have hoped for and more. Jonathan and Vibeke were wonderful hosts.
The six of us had plenty of room and all felt like kings and queens. Each couple had their own luxurious bathroom. The decor was point on, the house so well-equipped and the view, the pool.... incredible.
The outside terraces span the entire back of the house and are like your own outdoor home. Honestly, we hardly ever sat inside. (Well, the EuroCup was happening and the wide-screen TV and comfortable sectional was awesome for those who wanted to watch.) Lots of comfy furniture, lounge chairs and the infinity pool. Also, the outdoor grill (kitchen really) was a place where we prepared some incredible meals as we sipped Rosé. We ate all of our meals outside. Having my morning coffee ( Nespresso) sitting by the pool before everyone else was awake was so magical.
As foodies, the kitchen was perfect. So well equipped and plenty of room for several people to move around comfortably.
So many great little details have been thought of. Toys and floats for the pool, binoculars to watch the birds, a bocce court, and great wifi throughout. Champagne on arrival, and just enough condiments, spices, etc. to ensure we didn't have to stock up on literally everything. It's the small things, these attention to details that really make you feel instantly at home.
In terms of location, it can't be beat. A bakery is a nice one mile walk away and if you are more adventurous, you can hike into St. Paul in about 45 minutes. Great grocery stores, produce, boutique shopping and some terrific restaurants are just minutes away by car in Cagne Sur Mer.
While there is little reason to leave this amazing villa, we did do a long day trip up to see the lavender, spent a day in Nice and a day in Antibes. Both of these charming Mediterranean towns are a short distance away and have shopping food, museums, beaches - something for everyone to enjoy.
But mostly, we lounged by the pool, ate, drank and enjoyed the beauty of the villa and the view that you can't imagine. We will be back to make more memories in the south of France and yes, it will be at Jonathan and Vibeke's beautiful home.
Gorgeous French Villa with 21 century updates. Stunning views from the terrace and great pool in quiet neighborhood. Close to all beautiful towns only minutes away by car to airport. Very nice and attentive owner. Pictures do not reflect beauty of the views. I did recommend this villa to all my friends who plan to travel to South of France.
My family and I stayed in this villa for a week, we had a great time. the view is absolutely stunning, the villa is so clean and comfortable, the wifi is good, the pool is perfect, and the owners are very welcoming and nice. I strongly recommend this villa and for sure I will come again :)
What a great place.... 10 min from Nice airport and you go straight to paradise in this fantastic house, very well maintained and with all possible amenities available. The infinity pool is out of this world with a spectacular view of the coast! All this in beautiful and quiet surroundings.
Our hosts were equally committed to make our stay a memorable one and left no stone unturned to make that happen. All in all a dream holiday. We will be back.
Truly an amazing place in one of the most beautiful parts of this world. Easy to get down to Nice, Cagnes-sur-mer as well as Antibes. Clean and comfortable with all the extra equipment you could possibly need to enjoy a week on the French riviera. Hosts were very friendly and everything went smooth from check in to check out. Bring sunscreen!
Had a lovely vacation without no problems what so ever interrupting the stay. Access to car is a must though.
Saint-Paul-de-Vence is the most well-known medieval village on the Côte d’Azur. Not only has it hosted the likes of Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso, but throughout the past few centuries it has become a haven for artists, painters and celebrities alike. To this day, the village and surrounding areas are much coveted as motifs for both painters and photographers. The numerous galleries are a testament to the thriving art scene, and are surely something not to miss when in the area. During the summer the activity in the many galleries are augmented with numerous art festivals and activities that keep bringing people back to the village every year. Saint-Paul is also home to many excellent restaurants, including the famous ‘La Colombe d’Or’, known to have been frequented by Picasso, and current home to some of his paintings.
During the winter nearby ski-resorts in the Alps are a mere hour and a half away! In springtime it is often possible to ski the mountain in the morning and return for an afternoon at the beach.
