Home has open floor plan. The first floor has an eat in kitchen with all stainless appliances and a large great room with gas fireplace, TV and seating for at least 8. The master bedroom is on the first floor and has a queen size bed with private full bath. There is a second full bath on the 1st floor. The second floor is a large loft with 2 queen size beds. There is a large 10' x !8' furnished screen porch off the great room. This home has several outdoor living spaces- a large deck 12' X 32' with tables & chairs and a Weber grill. There is also a 10' X12' covered deck with rocking chairs, a patio and good size lawn. Plenty of parking and we have 2 Kayaks that are available for your use while staying in our home.
My family of four had a fantastic stay at Leona and Pat's home. Upon arrival, the house was immaculate and felt very inviting. We loved the layout of the house and it perfectly fit our needs. Everything we needed to stay in and cook was available, which was great so that we didn't have to drive around and find restaurants (as the Firehouse in Hague was closed for the season). We were able to get groceries at Walmart in Ticonderoga, which is a 10-15 minute drive away. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was so beautiful to wake up in the loft and look out the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows at the changing foliage. My family also enjoyed fires in the firepit nightly. Communication with the owners was easy and Pat even talked me through operating the DVD player! We were there in early October and the couple times we needed to use the gas fireplace, it heated the whole house quickly and efficiently.
I highly recommend staying at this beautiful home - as most people have written, the pictures don't do it justice!
The house was immaculate and well maintained. Spacious living room, screened porch, and deck gave us plenty of room as a family to relax.
All the amenities of home made us not wanting for anything.
Great privacy all around the house let us enjoy nature and was quiet at night.
Leona and Pat were great hosts and went out of their way to make sure we were completely comfortable in the house.
Pat and Leona have a lovely home with everything you need already there. My family had a wonderful time and we will be back. Pat and Leona thank you so much for everything. We would recommend your home to all. See you soon. Thanks again

I stayed here with my wife and our 2 1/2 year old son on a family vacation. On our arrival, the whole place was clean and in perfect condition. While the owners did not meet us there, they gave perfect directions on getting to the house and getting inside that we had no trouble. They were also very responsive by text message to any additional questions we had. The property has a nice size yard, perfect for a toddler to run around in. There was a hammock there was well. Inside, the kitchen was modern and in perfect condition. They had coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for our use. There was a large, screened in porch, where we ate, barbecued and my wife and I hung out after our son went to bed. There was a single master bedroom with its own bathroom (with shampoo and soap provided) where our son slept. My wife and I slept in the loft so my son would not be disturbed when he slept. There were 2 double beds that were fine. There is no air conditioning, but there were ceiling fans as well as other fans and we were actually comfortable despite temperatures outside being in the mid to high 80s. Other amenities included a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher and dishes.
The house itself is very secluded. We heard the neighbors at times but was not disturbing at all. Mostly you hear the birds, wind rustling in the trees and an occasional car. It was very pleasant.
Within a 5 minute drive is the town of Hague. We spent most of our time at the hague town park. It is a small park on the lake, with a sandy beach and a lifeguard. Even at the busiest of times it was not crowded at all and was very uncomfortable. The lake was shallow and pleasant. There was also a playground for my son to enjoy. There is a general store in the town where you can get basic food items. The nearest full grocery store is at a wal mart 20 minutes from the house. There are several hikes within a 15 minute drive of the house as well. Some are kid-friendly as well, we did one that was really great. One day we did a 1 hour drive to do berry picking. We did not go to lake george village but it is around a 45 minute drive so was close enough that we could go if the weather is bad.
Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely choose the property and area again. We highly recommend it.
My family spent a week together at this wonderful spot. My very favorite place was the screened in porch, where we had our meals. The grounds are graced with a large lawn, flower beds, flower pots, walkways, a stone fire pit (sticks for roasting marshmallow included) a hammock, and all the privacy you could ask for. We all agreed that the remoteness of the setting (20 minutes away from the tiny town center of Hague and 40 minutes from the nearest grocery in Bolton) is a welcome refuge from the crowds of tourists who came for July 4th and general summer vacationing.
We spent a wonderful weekend at this charming cottage with our 11 month old daughter, 2 friends and their 1.5 year old. The cottage was a perfect size for the 6 of us, with plenty of room inside, on the decks, and in the yard for the girls to run around and play. The house is immaculate, with comfy couches, a screened in porch as well as large outdoor deck, indoor fireplace, loft and 2 bathrooms. We loved that the house was in the small, quiet town of Hague rather than busy lake George village. Lake George village was an easy 35 minute day trip for us, which was all we needed to explore the village. The rest of our days were spent at the little beach 2 miles from our house. The beach was perfect for us and the girls- there were only a tiny handful of other families there, so we had plenty of space, there is a playground right at the beach, and the girls loved splashing in the shallow water. There is one restauarant in town- Firehouse- which was great. Leona and Pat provide a grill, which we used a bunch, as well as beach chairs for the beach. After putting the babies to bed, the grown ups were able to enjoy the fire pit in the yard and have a relaxing night. We all loved our stay and appreciate the time and effort that Leona and Pat put into making sure we were happy and comfortable. I highly recommend this house and we look forward to spending many more family summers here!
Chalet is just outside the quaint village of Hague which offers a public beach with picnic area and boat launch on Lake George. The Waltonian Island group is a beautiful spot close by for kayaking, island picnicking, cliff jumping and swimming. Fort Ticonderoga and Ferry to Vermont both located in Ticonderoga, a short drive away. Great Escape Amusement Park, Bolton Landing and Lake George Village are all great local day trip. Numerous hiking trails close by.
