Guestbook comments from the owner

This gite is well situated and very well equiped and decorated. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and an added bonus is the use of the pool. Patrick is also a very talented painter. In addition the owner keeps angora rabbits and enjoyed showing us the method of brushing them for the fur/hair and the garments made from this.

The gardens are well kept and lots of beautiful scented roses.

the gite is very cosy and decorated in traditional french style. It has all needed for an enjoyable stay including washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, duel fuel cooker/hob, coffee machine, kettle etc. Families well supported as have cot, highchair, baby utensils, dishes etc. Our holiday was focused around cycling and many routes that are signposted in the area area on tracks, quiet lanes or proper tracks built on old railway lines. (avenue verte) about half an hour away which you can follow for 42 km from Dieppe- Forges des eaux. Other places of interest is the city of Rouen, fishing ports, Le Treport where there is funiculaire railway which is free and well worth going on and learning about its history. there are also lots of nice coastal walks nearby. I would return and recommend it to friends and family

Home from home

We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and received gifts of cider and fresh produce from their garden. The cottage was well equipped and had all facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. Our daughter loved the pool and the dog loved the gardens. If you want a quiet relaxed break in beautiful surroundings this is the place.

A beautiful house, set in beautiful gardens in the beautiful countryside

  • 5 of 5

Thank you both for a very pleasant stay. The house was clean, well equipped and ideally located to set off and explore the region. The old features of the house such as the beams and decor were very charming and the paintings by the owner were a lovely addition. The owners were very helpful and available if we needed them. The pool was clean and a good size. The fact that we had to unlock it when we wanted to use it was a good safety feature for us as we had a small child. The garden is beautifully maintained and it was lovely to sit outside amongst the lavender and roses, especially at meal times.

The house is located approx 20km south of Dieppe, ideal if you coming from the UK via New Haven. We stopped at the Leclerc supermarket in Dieppe to stock up before travelling to the house which is something I would recommend doing until you get to know where the shops are as we didn't find any in Le Catelier.

The roads are well signposted and easy to navigate. Rouen is well worth a visit with its stunning architecture and fascinating history and is about 40 mins. Honfleur is 1 hour 30 mins drive away and it is wonderful, really worth going to see even if it's just to sit with a coffee by the harbour, though there is lots to see and do.

Very warm welcome, lovely house and beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 1week stay in mid August, an old style cottage but had everything we needed. It is set in very peaceful and beautiful surroundings but a good location for visiting the region. We had a trip to Givernay and Rouen, we also did the kayak and biking trip which is just down the road at Muchedent and also high ropes course nearby, the kids loved it. Patrick and Sylvie are very welcoming and we would hope to return in the future to see more of the region.

Thank you Patrick and Sylvie

Everything was as good as we hoped it would be.

  • 4 of 5

From the warm welcome of Sylvie and Patrick, to the beautiful well kept surroundings, our stay was all we could hope for. Very quiet and peaceful which is what we wanted, but with attractions such as Rouen and Dieppe within easy reach. No problems were encountered and our only real need to seek out Patrick was to buy some of his cider.

Hosts were very accommodating.

  • 4 of 5

The hosts were lovely, they waited up till 11pm for us to arrive. As far as customer service goes they couldn't have been better. they told us of places to go, and there was a lot of information in the cottage.

The location was exactly what we wanted, close to Rouen but was rural and quiet.

The property is obviously old, but everythig worked! It was lovely and warm when we arrived too.

I would have liked the beds to have been more comfortable - quite hard - but that is personal taste.

Home from home!

We had a beautiful one week stay at Grandma's House, 22nd Aug 2015.

The house is an amazing old fashion style cottage but with all the mod cons needed. We had freak bad weather during our stay but this didn't matter, we played board games, watch dvd's and had some good table football matches, as well as been able to go into the covered pool area.

We had great food and enjoyed cooking as a family here also.

It is a perfect place to stay whilst visiting Normandy and the surrounding areas.

Its an easy drive down from the Euro tunnel, under 2 hours and only 8 Euro's on the toll roads and French roads are a dream to drive on, even the back roads, no pot holes like the UK.

As a party of 6 (2 adults/4children) the house was everything we needed.

The pool was heated and the kids all loved it. The grounds of the house were full of wild life from the cows to the little red squirrel's and so the little ones loved it, they picked herbs for dinner from the garden. The flowers in the garden we beautiful to look out and the aroma was wonderful.

Patrick & Sylvie were nice hosts and keep their grounds in perfect order, never saw them cutting the grass but it was always done must have waited until we went out! We really loved their attention to detail in the home making it a pleasure to stay.

We would recommend this as a home from home.

Thank you Patrick & Sylvie.

The Richards Family :-)
