kate johns shaw purchased this house in 2011
our family has enjoyed vacationing in Naples Park for years. We decided to buy this house so we could establish more of a connection with this location we love so much. Also because interior design matters to all of us, we wanted to create a wonderful space for ourselves and our guests. The decor has a relaxed, beach house feel. The windows are big. The space is open and airy.
The best thing about our location is its close proximity to a wonderful public beach, a pristine national seashore. We also love being able to walk or bike everywhere. The neighborhood has a quiet, retro, Olde Florida, 1950's ofeel to it. One of my favorite things is taking an early morning walk on the beach and watching the dolphins curl in and out of the water. My brother in law and husband like to run to the beach, take a swim and run back to the house. A very pleasant exercise routine. We love cooking with all the fresh Florida vegetables, fish and fruits. Old Naples is about a twenty minute drive from the house. Lots of boutique shopping and art galleries and restaurants. Some cool historic house museums in old naples and fort meyers.
There are 8 highly rated public golf courses rated 3 stars or more by golflink within 1/2 hour of house. Two of them are 2 award winning, one of which is 12 minutes from house, (Tiburon Golf Club, Gold Course).
Tennis is easily available as well-- the Veteran's Community Park has 4 lit tennis courts 7 minutes from the house, open to the public for free.
We were overall very pleased with our stay. About a 15-20 minute drive to central Naples. Walk to Delnor Wiggins beach was actually 20 minutes minimum, a few minutes more to Vanderbilt Beach. A 5 minute drive, and we enjoyed having the free parking pass at DW state park beach. We preferred Delnor Wiggins, since less crowded and backed by scrubby vegetation rather than high rise condos, than Vanderbilt Beach. DW beach is shallower, however.
The house is fairly well appointed. Kitchen has newish basic appliances which work well, though the dishwasher is NOISY.
The three bedrooms are fairly well sized. The mattresses are disappointing. Lower end, but were adequate for 3 of 5 of us. The sheets and pillows could be upgraded also.
Keep in mind that the home is a good value for its location. The neighborhood is very pleasant and quiet.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed are stay here for our vacation in Naples. The house is spacious, light and airy inside. Its smartly decorated with a modern flair, white furnishings accented with vibrant colors that lends itself to a chic atmosphere. The house is equipped with everything needed for the kitchen and dining. The beds were very comfortable. The outdoor grill and bicycles are a plus. Also, the bicycles are in very good shape. The wonderful Wiggins beach is a 5 minute drive away and the owner provides a pass for the parking.
Kate, the owner, is very responsive to any questions or concerns. We would return to this house, and would definitely recommend it to friends.

My wife and I loved staying here. The location was great, close to restaurants, the beach, walking park, shopping and gym. Great place to ride bikes that are included in the house. Our little Westie loved the large yard, and the walks in the park. The house was very open, and airy, and extremely clean, with a wonderfully large screened in back porch. Everything we needed for our month long stay (that was too short) was there. We would recommend this place to any of our friends. The owners are wonderful host, and very easy to work with, thank you Kate. We are looking forward to our two month stay next year.
My daughter was getting married and my family rented this amazing hose. It had everything plus location. From the moment you entered this home it said, welcome. From the front enclosed patio all the way through to the back enclosed patio, all equipped with ceiling fans. It had ample parking and the neighborhood was great. The location could not have been more accommodating. As a property manager I am very discriminating and this home was so relaxing and peaceful. I thank the Shaw's for sharing their beautiful home with us. P.S. the wedding was beautiful....
We loved every minute of our stay in your home! The house is very well equipped, efficiently furnished, "operating" instructions were clear and comprehensive and the location simply could not be better. Eating on the lanai was perfect, including being serenaded each day by a wide array of birds. Bikes were available as were beach chairs. Even with several days in the low 90's, the house was cool and comfortable. We simply had no complaints.
We just completed an extended six-week stay at this lovely home in Naples Park. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The owners have done an excellent job creating an atmosphere that is inviting, yet minimal. You don't really feel like you're in someone else's home, but more like a boutique hotel. The home is open and spacious with two inviting lanais, front and back. The park-like setting with mature trees provides cool breezes and shade on even a hot day. The location in the 500 block makes it easy to walk along Vanderbilt Drive and even to wonderful Delnor-Wiggins State Park. The pass to the park, provided by the owners, is icing on the cake. We have recently purchased a home in Naples; otherwise, we would have booked this home for all of next winter. It was hard to say good-bye to it and anyone lucky enough to get to stay here will not be disappointed.
