This spacious mountain home has three distinct living zones which makes this the perfect vacation rental. On the first floor you’ll find the fully equipped laundry facility as well as the recreation room with a television, DVD player and a Wii system. This is also the zone with the “slumber party space”; you’ll find bunk beds, a full bed and even a futon. Located on the second floor are the kitchen, dining area, living room and library which follow an open floor plan, making this floor perfect for socializing. You can savor an amazing high mountain sunrise while sitting on the deck off of the living room. While waiting for the kitchen timer to ring, you can enjoy the mountain air on a second deck. This is also where you’ll find the gas grill. A second entertainment system is located on this floor. If vacation means getting away from it all then make certain you get the chance to use the Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom suite on the third floor. The tub is backed by floor to ceiling windows that look over cross country ski trails and provide unobstructed views of Castle Peak. While it isn’t a suite, the second bedroom, is actually larger than the master and has a fold out queen bed. Like the master suite, this room also has a gas fireplace. There is a third bedroom on this floor with a queen bed.
The house does have an occupied attached apartment. The tenant of the apartment may be parked in the driveway when you arrive. The door leading to the house has a keyless entry with a code that is changed with each rental.

We recently became grandparents and are looking forward to sharing our love of the outdoors and outdoor sports with all of our family.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
Both of us grew up in Santa Rosa and spent many winter vacations skiing in Tahoe. After looking at homes in other locations/states, we knew that the place we wanted to buy had to be in the Tahoe area. One of the things we love the most about this house is it's so traquil but we can easily drive to major ski areas, Truckee, Lake Tahoe or even Reno, that is if we even want to leave the house.
Amazing views form almost every window.
Places to curl up with a cup of coffee and a great book. You'll even find some in our take one/leave one library.
Easy access to Interstate 80 and easy to find, even late at night.
This place was perfect for my family as we were in town for the weekend for a wedding. Place was spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Thank You!
Deborah, thank you for opening your home to us. It is a great property, we enjoyed the little amount of time that we were able to spend in it. Kathy was able to answer our questions and any concerns that we had. We did have a great race, we all finished without being injured. Thank you again for your hospitality. I would definately recommend your cabin to friends & family.
We really enjoyed this house. It was a lovely house out of the Tahoe crowds.
Its a less than 10 minute drive to sugarbowl and very close to soda springs resort. Great sledding hill close by. A room downstairs for kids and then 3 bedrooms upstairs.
This house was perfect for our two families. The pictures don't do justice for how beautiful it is. There is plenty of space for everyone, with lovely furnishings. There are wonderful sledding hills near by and it's in a great location for nearby ski resorts. One thing to note: the playroom/bunk room is on the first floor (it's a converted garage) and the other bedrooms are on the third floor, so it might be a little far removed for the very little ones. For us, it was perfect! Thank you so much, Deborah. You were a terrific host.
We just love this cabin and the Serene Lakes neighborhood! This is the third year that my family has stayed at this cabin and it was, as before, a wonderful experience. We had plenty of space for four households, including several children, so that we never felt as though the main floor was too crowded. When anyone wanted a bit of privacy or quiet, the third floor bedrooms offered retreat, but also with gorgeous views. The cabin is incredibly comfortable, beautifully appointed, immaculate, and an overall delight. The kitchen had everything we needed and management was super helpful and responsive. Our kids had a great time sledding and playing immediately next to the house, so we never bothered walking the few blocks to the sledding hill. Royal Gorge was a nice little walk when we wanted to have lunch at the cafe or catch up with those family members who did ski. None of us made it to Donner or other downhill places this year, but we did in previous visits and will do so again.
During the summer you can enjoy the sand and the family atmosphere at the Serene Lakes Home Owners beach. Winter activities include snow shoeing, sledding and skiing.
