Room with view of proposal rock and the ocean is in the quaint coastal village of Neskowin,a popular tourist destination where generations return for years. This cozy, romantic studio with a candle fireplace has a private balcony that looks out over two joining creeks, the ocean just across a footbridge,Proposal Rock and the mountainous Cascade Head.
You can enjoy beach combing on miles of secluded beach, climbing proposal rock at low tide, golfing, horseback riding, and have a bonfire on the beach at night. Walk the streets of old Neskowin and see quaint cottages, eat at the great Hawk Creek Cafe, hike Cascade Head just minutes from Neskowin, ride your bike on the 12 mile scenic highway just one mile down 101. Head ten minutes north to Pacific City and watch the ocean from Pelican Pub Restaurant at beautiful Cape Kawanda, and shop at the Village Merchants downtown. Go south to Lincoln City for restaurants, outlet shopping, beach shops, antique stores, movie theaters, golf and mini-golf. Or just sit out on the deck, enjoy the views of forest and the ocean with a glass of wine, enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
I live in Portland, but started coming to Neskowin as a small child with my family from Boise, Idaho. My aunt and Uncle owned the chocolate brown house on Hawk when it was only $11,000. Great memories of the Tabors and Steins and riding the bicycle built for two all around the streets. We would be gone all day and go home for dinner... riding bikes on the beach, climbing proposal Rock, even remember when the Sands Motel was built. I always knew I would come back and buy one of these homes. The closest I got is the Room with the Million dollar View. When I was one of 7 owners at the Village Merchants in Pacific City....we bought this so I wouldn't have to drive back to Portland late at night. Enjoy it as I do.
Jannine L. James purchased this studio in 2007
My husband and I scheduled a last minute trip to Neskowin to escape the valley cold and fog. This studio was very cozy, it was quiet during the evenings and we enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have our own deck, a kitchen to cook in, TV, a comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom area. The unit was tastfully decorated as well. It was sad to see that the Hawk Creek Cafe had closed - it was one of our fav restaurants!
This is a beautifully decorated studio gem with everything you need for an oceanfront vacation. Don't be concerned about the idea of a Murphy bed, it is really comfortable and easy to pull down and put away. The kitchen is stocked with everything one could want and more. As far as beach access it really doesn't get any better than this. Looking out from the window or the deck, the waves are just...right...there. The whole beach is fun to explore and very dog friendly. What a wonderful getaway!
Arriving at Neskowin is deceptive because you can't see the beach from the parking lot side. But the view is lovely and the owner's covered the deck so you can sit outside when warm but rainy. The view is best seen from the tiny table by the window or on the deck. Be prepared to be in very close quarters. Also, there is no wifi, just ethernet. The murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable. Neskowin is a beautiful area and the beaches were great. Hawk Creek Cafe was superb and very friendly.
