Our love for Yosemite and the Victorian era prompted us to build our dream home and add our wonderful Carriage House. David, a lover of antiques and antique cars and boats, will delight you with his many stories and enthusium for everything he does. He will even teach you how to drive an original Model T Ford, the car that changed the world.
Sheran Woodworth purchased this house in 2011
We love Yosemite and the victorian era. The only way we could live in a Victorian in this area was to build our own. The project started in 2003 and was completed in 2006. After turning away so many travelers, we expanded and built our wonderful Carriage House where families and children can stay . It's like living in a treehouse. Yosemite is one of our most beautiful national parks and a MUST SEE. We recommend a minimum of 3 days to a week to truly enjoy the park. Please call us, we love helping our guests plan their trip.
Very few things exceed our expectations...this place did!
We stayed in the Carriage house this past week with our two daughters (8&11yrs) and were so comfortable we wanted to move in forever..lol! This place is worth the money to have all the comforts of home while enjoying the peace and quite of the sierras.

E) A BBQ to grill on, a patio, lawn for the kids to run, swings, and campfire to make smores.
F) and the very best part is David & Sheran who make you feel right at home and make your stay just wonderful!
I highly recommend this place to everyone. We had friends stay at the Tenaya Lodge and visted them. It was crowded, extremely over priced, loud, and poor snooty service....They wished they had stayed at the TIn Lizzie. And they were very jealous to know we drove around in a Model T Ford that was included in our stay. David and Sheran also help make special arrangements for our Autistic daughter when we needed things adjusted for her. What more could you ask for, right? Well David even taught my 8yr old how to drive the ModelT...she hasn't stopped talking about it! Thanks David & Sheran for a wonderful vacation! check out the great pics I took of the place!!!
The Carriage House was in every way as expected and advertised. The property was very well kept, and very clean. It was also very close to the Yosemite park entrance, which allowed us to spend more time enjoying the park and less time in the car and in traffic. Jeb and Carmen (who own the Tin Izzie Inn next door) greeted us upon our arrival and went out of their way to make sure that we are comfortable. Jeb also took us out in the Model T, and we all got to drive it which was a unique experience. Overall, it was truly memorable. I highly recommend this property, and will definitely stay in this place again for future visits.
We stayed in the Carriage House. It far surpassed our expectations. The accommodations were excellent. The scenery was beautiful. The hospitality was wonderful. Peaceful location and very convenient to the south entrance to Yosemite. Will definitely stay here again! David and Sheran were wonderful hosts. Loved riding in the Model T.
We have stayed at many resorts, and rented many vacation homes.
The Carriage house is a small palace. our girls did not want to go to the park...:)
No words can describe the intimate touch of the owners.
GREAT PLACE, so close to the south entry to the park. THANK you!
We loved this place and and all of its amenities. There were 4 of us and the bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces were perfect for us. We received great restaurant recommendations from our hosts and the Model T ride and photographs were unbelievably fun. The location was really close to the lower entrance to the park. We highly recommend this property and the hosts.
The Tin Lizzie Carriage House was a beautiful and private vacation experience. The immaculate 2-bedroom/2 bathroom house has a large, modern, and well-equipped kitchen and a spacious gathering/living room that exceeded our expectations. It's located in a heavily wooded and quiet neighborhood only a short drive from the park entrance.
The owners were onsite and ready to greet us. They provided a variety of helpful information about the park and the surrounding locale. Their warmth and hospitality was greatly appreciated throughout our stay.
We would highly recommend this property to our friends and relatives.
Our main objective for this trip was to enjoy Yosemite Park with our family. Restaurants weren't a focus, as we enjoyed barbequing on the electric grill at the Tin Lizzie. Stopping for groceries at Vaughn's prior to arriving at the inn is an excellent idea, as noted by the owners. The icing on the cake was a ride in the owner's Model T car with pictures!
This home was just perfect for our family trip to Yosemite. Pictures on the website, though beautiful, still can't do it justice. The house is beautiful and Sheran and David are the ultimate hostess and host. We were welcomed like old friends and treated like family. They offered their picnic basket and cooler for our packed lunches for the park. Sheran even brought over warm cookies our first night! The Tin Lizzie is perfectly appointed and everything is as clean and beautiful as you want a vacation place to be. Our family (3 young men plus us parents) was perfectly comfortable in this home with everything we needed, including some essential groceries and supplies. We made one trip to the nearby grocery store to stock up for preparing meals in the superb kitchen which was huge-- everyone could pitch in with meals. If you don't want to cook, an exclusive hotel across the street has four wonderful choices for dining out. A small hotel room in Yosemite would cost as much as this place. We had this gorgeous home, a yard with wildlife, the beautiful big pines and hammocks, a grill on the patio, a firepit for roasting marshmallows, and the icing on the cake was the Model T car driving lessons and tour! That was our 16-year old's highlight of the whole trip. The jacuzzi bathtubs and beds were heavenly after full days in Yosemite of climbing and hiking. WHEN we come back, we will stay at the Tin Lizzie again. The southern entrance into Yosemite is the best one due to the jaw-dropping, eye-popping view as you come out of the tunnel. Tin Lizzie is on that highway.
Other Activities: Drive an original Model T & A Ford, JUST 2 miles to Southern entrance to Yosemite National Park, Tour Mariposa Grove Big Trees,, Bass Lake, hike Half Dome and waterfalls.
