Just outside your door, you'll find plenty of activities for the whole family in and around the resort community of Bolton Landing, New York.
In the warmer seasons, take the kids to one of the three public beaches, rent a party boat and spend a lazy afternoon on the lake swimming or wetting a line where some of the best fishing for lake trout and land-locked salmon in the northeast can be found, or enjoy the gorgeous views of Lake George and its many islands on the numerous hiking trails that are perfect for all ages and abilities.
And of course, take advantage of the legendary Sagamore Golf Course next door, a challenging course that features small, firm and fast greens that often slope severely from back to front. Golf Digest rated this course the '5th Best Public Course in New York State' and Condé Nast named it a top U.S. resort course.
And don't forget Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Race Track -- must-dos during the horse racing season.
As the weather cools, the fall foliage is spectacular. During the colder months, enjoy Gore Mountain less than 30 miles away, which offers more skiable acres than any other mountain in the state. With 2,537 feet of vertical, there is plenty of cruisers, steeps and glades to satisfy any level of skier or rider.
The Lake George Winter Carnival should not be missed with fun events for all ages on the frozen lake every weekend in February.
The Sagamore Golf House is also the perfect home-base for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding, ice fishing, and all your other favorite wintertime activities -- perfect for a winter getaway with the family and a bunch of friends.

We stayed in the Sagamore Golf House as members of a travel destination club, and liked it so much we purchased the home when the club (very unfortunately) went bankrupt a few months later. The house was decked out by the club with the high-end traveler in mind, and we have maintained that level of comfort and style with all the amenities (and several more that we have added!).
Enjoy all that the Adirondacks and Lake George region have to offer, and then come home to a truly tranquil setting where you can re-connect with family and friends away from crowds. Other than the occasional golfer, enjoy a neighbor-free setting that is close to everything.
Our family was in the area for a wedding - so 4 adults and 3 kids shared this amazing house for 4 nights. It was perfection from beginning to end. Beautiful decor, lovely bedding, and a comfortable setting for all. The kids in our group watched movies in the home theatre while the adults enjoyed the pastoral view for the deck. The house is sized generously - with seating, bathrooms, and outdoor space for all. My husband and I have stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world, and we agree that our time at the Sagamore House was one of our best vacations ever. We will certainly be back to make more memories here and we are so appreciative of Doug and Susan and all of the care and attention that they put into this lovely, graceful, Adirondack home.
We spent a week in this house with two married children and their families. There were 6 young children, ranging in age from eight months to nine years old.
We had high expectations coming in but they were exceeded by this unique and spectacular house. The entire experience, from booking until departure, was a pleasure, with both Doug and Susan concerned about every detail and eager to ensure that each of us would have a wonderful and memorable experience. Susan was very helpful throughout our visit.
The house itself is spacious, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The grounds are immaculate. No detail is missed in making sure guests of all ages are comfortable and enjoy themselves. There are so many things to do in the house that one is reluctant to leave, despite all the wonderful attractions and activities in the area.
We are eager to return at any time of the year to once again enjoy this beautiful home and setting.
The Sagamore house was incredible. Spent the fourth of July week with my sons, their fiancees and their parents. I was amazed at the layout of this great home. We were met by Susan and from the first moment we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Every detail was carefully thought out. We had so much fun sharing the amazing adult toys found all over this great home. If you are a golfer its a no brainer with a classic golf course in your backyard. I look forward to the opportunity to spend more time at the Sagamore House in the near future. Thank you to Doug and his wonderful staff!
The house exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect! Wonderful amenities. The caretaker was so helpful with suggestions for activies and restaurants. We loved our stay at the Sagamore House and hope to be back.
The house with everything we expected and more. Plenty of things to do there rain or shine. Everybody had a great time. Plenty of room to spread out and do what you want or hang out with everyone. Definitely would say there again next time up in Lake George area.
My husband rented the home for my surprise 50th and my sister planned a weekend party to remember! Upon arrival seeing my family and friends greeting me on the deck I was in awe of the house up on the hill. I cannot begin to convey the fantastic time we all had at this home. The setting is majestic and the house itself awesome. I wouldn't change a thing and I cannot wait to go back :-)
